  1. You might try body seam sealer to plug the holes and gaps in the floor and firewall. it`s also possible that your fan is drawng exhaust fumes from the engine compartment through the cowl panel. BUT... If your exhaust system if working properly, you should NEVER get exhaust fumes from the engine compartment. DENNY
  2. I will try to be more visible in the near future. I`m getting back into the Z thing pretty heavy. After finishing a complete mechanical buildup for my neighbors el camino, I`m really getting the fever to have my own TOY finished. I just picked up the 300zx front hubs for the 4 runner caliper conversion. All I need now is a fuel cell, fuel fittings, paint, and TIME. I plan to call in some favors that are long overdue. it would be nice to have the car running for the summer.{maybe the end of summer} Denny
  3. I`m amazed to see how the membership has changed over the years.I have poked my head in from time to time to see what`s happening, and I`ve been somewhat surprised at the changes. I see that the V8 Z is slowly becoming less popular, as the younger crowd are turning to the new 4 and 6 cyl fi and turbo setups. I personally still prefer the "BIG ENGINE little CAR" philosophy. I`ve also noticed that many of the old members are less visible. I guess there lives have gotten just as complicated as mine. Denny
  4. It`s VERY hard to believe this site is almost "six" already. I think I`ts been almost a year since my last post. BTW, I`m sorry for not posting for so long. Life has been running me in circles. Having three kids, and starting two new businesses has seriously limited my time for the Z. I have been working on cylinder head porting and hope to send the car for paint within the next month or two. That might just be the motivation that I need to get the car finished. Denny
  5. As another option to FLAT PRIMER, Try Imron industial paint. It is nearly indestructible. It doesn`t flow out a smooth as typical automotive paint, but you won`t have to worry about scratches. From what I`ve heard, even BATTERY ACID poured over it will only fade the paint a little.
  6. I`ve had mine for more than three years now. I had the same reaction at first, but the need to randomely cut whatever is lying around has subsided.
  7. I`ve thought about selling my trailer and building a lighter one, but I think I`ll keep it and build a couple more trailers of various sizes. My current trailer weighs in @3400#, I plan to build a lighter car trailer that weighs 2k or less, as well as a small utility trailer for hauling smaller stuff. Luckily I have room to store them,[either at the house or at the farm] Otherwise I would be stuck with just one.
  8. WTH!!!!! How damn hard is it to put on a REAL set? They only cost a couple bucks more.
  9. double check the firing order, and be sure that you are using the proper direction of rotation for the distributor. Don`t ask why I suggest this
  10. "You can please ALL of the people SOME of the time, and please SOME of the people ALL of the time, but you CAN`T please ALL of the people ALL of the time." Assuming the vid is true, I think the circumstances around what happened should be investigated. If it is found that the soldiers actions were unwarrented, they should be punished. BUT...I have a real hard time taking the press at face value at the present time. There are too many supposed jounalists trying to inject their own political opinions and agenda into their stories.
  11. How would it work if one wanted to use the stock front calipers on the rear[w/ solid rotors], and installed the four piston/vented rotor upgrade to the front? Would an adjustable proportioning valve be able to compensate for the difference, or would they still be too close in size?
  12. Ther are no moser #`s for the axles. I just brought them one to copy from. They did say that we could get a discount if we have a group buy. I`m not sure how many here are wanting axles, but 156.00 is the normal per unit price. They may knock off 15.00-20.00 each if we order 8 to 10 pairs. If anyone is interested, let me know. If we get enough people to buy, I will go over with another axle and set it all up. Denny
  13. I always ship directly from the ups depot and pay cash/check. It would be too complicated for them to overcharge after the fact.
  14. IMHO, Laws like this are a gross waste of time and recources, and truely do fall under "a Womans right to choose". On the other hand, I can`t say that I approve of some cultural and religious practices when it comes to female circumcision at puberty.
  15. I would recycle it as a Christmas gift. My wife does that with whatever gifts we get for all b-days and holidays that don`t fit our style.[or desire] I think, AT LEAST a third of our holiday shopping is finished before december 25 ends.
  16. I`ve been looking for this info as well. I`m bringing my calipers to the JY to check and document as many as possible.
  17. I don`t really have the time to list ALL of the cars I`ve previously owned. The last time I sat down and listed them all was 6 years ago. At that time the total was somwhere in the mid 30`s. I haven`t kept very good tabs on the last 6 years, but would guess AT LEAST 20 additional cars, and possibly more.
  18. It sounds kind of mild to me. .454 lift isn`t much over stock. I would guess somwhere around 300-325hp?
  19. I don`t see how you can comlain about a little curb rash. Basically, you bought an air dam for 100 beans and got the other stuff for FREE
  20. My current vehicles include... 99 Eddie Baurer Explorer 95 Hyundia Elantra 88 Chevy Extended cab 4x4 truck 79 MGB [reassemling after new paint] 75 280z [383 sbc swap in progress] 71 Chevelle [Frame off in progress] 65 Renault R10 [next in line]
  21. I`m in Ohio for good now, and glad to be back in my own shop instead of the small two car garage that I had in Alabama. I may try to make it down to the SEZ meet this month, but i`ll have to see how prgress goes on my current projects first.
  22. DON`T use rtv or teflon on on the pump pickup tube. The risk of some breaking loose and clogging an oil passage is way too great. I alway tack weld the tube in place after I`m sure the pickup to pan clearance is correct.

I had some pics in my personal album but they got wiped out in the changeover. I hope to repost them in the future.
  24. I suggest buying the car back. Then you can part it out or put the good parts on a donor car and be back in the game with money ahead.
  25. I can`t stand anyone that would steel from someone else. (no matter how small) I hope your insurance company is easy to deal with. You may have to get back credit card/bank statements to prove that you actually had some of the belongings that were taken.
