  1. i was looking on this site http://www.transmissioncenter.net/speedometer_calibration_______va.htm and they have a 90* adapter but for $88 i can go without a speedometer for a while.
  2. thank you for all the info. i got to poking around today. i took the retainer and gear out and the gear was striped. we have a 400th laying around in garage so i canablized it and took the gear out of it and replaced it with the one in the z. it worked but the speedo was reading 90 when i was crusing 45. then after about 4 miles the speedo died. i figure that like you said teekass that the cable is binding the gear causing it to strip. so it all comes back to my first question will the adapter in the link in my first post work with the 350th? thank you for the site, i think i may call them tommorrow to see what gear i need for my setup.
  3. im glad that it may just be a gear that is striped. i apreciate all of the help!
  4. im not sure tranies arent realy my forte
  5. i have a unique problem. hopefuly i can get some direction from someone that owns and knows corvettes. when i first bought my car it's speedo didnt work. i just brushed it off thinking the cable wasnt connected. well today i went and checked the cable on the back of the speedometer it was attached. so i disconected the cable from the trans when i removed it it seemed to be at a radical bend. i hooked a hand drill up to it to see if it registered, with my dad watching the speedometer it worked. i then rerouted the cable so it wouldnt be in such a bind. i took it for a test drive and it still didnt register. ive come to the conclusion that i need an adapter to help eliminate the bend it has to make to get to the transmission's output. when i was searching i came across this http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000050e~Z5Z5Z5AALGZ~P39.95~~~~~~~F i got to looking and it says it fits a year model corvette from 1956-1982. my question after all of this spill is if the corvette's speedo cable is diffrent from a cable that attaches an autometer speedometer to a 350 turbo trans. any help will be appreciated.
  6. my dad has a 64 chevyII that he is restoring. it has a 400 bored 60 over with 5.7 eagle rods, kb pistons, fuelie heads, weiand intake, edilebrock gear drive, screw in studs, guide plates, edilebrock roller rockers, holley 650 double pumper, 3800 stall converter, and a powerglide. it is by far the quickest street car ive ever ridden in. it has pretty much convinced me that i want a 400 for my z.
  7. damn, this thing is going to be a beast when you are done.
  8. oh, and thank you for all the nice comments.
  9. it is a 2 1/2" exhaust paired up with a flowmaster muffler. they are autometer sport-comp guages. i found the steering wheel on ebay. it is an acp steering wheel with a custom fited 350z center emblem. im sorry but i can't offer any advice, because i bought the car with the motor already in it. where in tennessee are you from?
  10. As of now it has the stock exhaust malifolds, with a two into one muffler.i plan on upgrading to headers eventualy.
  11. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=150705859586201918 just uploaded a vid of the 74 260z idling/reving.
  12. i have matrix racing seats in my 260.they are realy comfortable, and fit me(34" waist)perfectly.i could drive the z cross country with the matrix seats in it.the only down fall is that it is not custom made like you want although it is fully adjustable. i would recomend them. http://www.shophyperformance.com/store/001295.html
  13. thank you for all your help.before i posted i tried every metric bolt that ace hardware had and none fit.
  14. my z is scarab mounted and doesent go over 180 degres(sp) on an 90* day.the other people that have the scarab mount may not have the right set up to keep it cool.just my .02 since i have a scarab mounted 350.
  15. i hate to make a fool of my self, but i took the seat belts out to replace them with a 4 point harness. stupid me sat the seat belts to the side and lost all 4 bolts that connect them to the floor.i was wondering what size the bolts are that connect the seat belts to the floor.
  16. just a little here and there, the interior(sp),and maybe a little motor upgrading.actually its on the back burner because me and my father are overhauling his 64 nova.
  17. nice paint.there is only one thing im currious about. why did you paint the carbon fiber!i like the blended flares, and the fender vents.what did you get the fender vents off of a TA? is this going to be a street car or track only?
  18. id like to tell you what i paid for it,but it may turn up on ebay one day.
  19. if i told you id have to kill you.
  20. if you look at the top of the radiator the sticker says chevrolet diesel, so i assume it is a diesel.
  21. i think the guy that had the car before me took the shift head from a b&m and adapted it to fit the shifter
  22. yes from what ive found out it is scarab mounted
  23. thanks, i love the paint also it stands out. I love the looks i get in it,kinda like im crazy that im driving something so little with such a big engine.
