  1. One of the problems with society today is that when you call attention to somebody that is breaking the rules, it usually doesn't reflect on them nearly as much is it will reflect on you for being a finger pointer. The guy at work that takes too many cigarrette breaks-leaving you to pick up the slack, you point it out, and you are a whiner that is not a team player. The annoying neighbors that smoke weed under your window with no regard for your feelings on the issue, you point a finger, and now you're a narc. Sometimes it just doesn't seem like you can win... That said, I think the suggestion about calling the police non-emergency line is probably a good way to start.
  2. Doc, that's right up there with pooping in the tank of their toilet at a party...every time they flush, they'd be like WTF?!?!?!?!
  3. I don't recall ever seeing a Japanese plane with nose art from this era, are you familiar with some? I'd be interested to see it if there is such a thing. As for the mouth surrounding the grill, I'm not thinking that would look as cool in practice as it does in imagination. I know from personal experience that certain things look so much better before they even get to the paper stage, and sometimes they even look ok on paper, but just can't cut it when you actually get them on the car. I suspect this is one of those ideas. We had a similar problem with Chewievette's initial ideas about a tiger stripe pattern. That sounds cool, but it's VERY hard to get that to look intimidating and not like something a sorority girl would get for a seat cover in actual practice.
  4. What about this one then? http://www.race-cars.com/engsales/cosworth/1116014848/1116014848ss.htm
  5. This one's for Daeron. Is that what you were thinking of?
  6. Hmmm....I'm not sure how this is going to factor into the smackdown...I many need to get some sort of novel engine monitoring system now. That screen is dope, it looks like a MegaView that my friend has for his MegaSquirt in his saturn!
  7. I'd rather have a DMC 12 than an 82 NA 280zx...Of course, in the spirit of things, mine may end up more along the lines of this: http://www.eliseusa.com/rotary.htm
  8. No amount of immaculate is worth $21,000 on an NA 82ZX...For that kind of money you could buy a remanufactured DeLorean from these guys: http://delorean.com/remanufactured.asp... at least I think that's what they go for, I couldn't find any prices listed but I saw them on a tv show one time and I seem to recall them being about that much.... *edit* Never mind, i just found the prices. $40K for a reman DeLorean... http://delorean.com/dmcstore/byod.asp *edit edit* However, for about $21K US, you COULD in fact own this: http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/other/1164773580/1164773580ss.htm
  9. Talk about optomistic... Somebody ought to call this guy and find out what they are smoking in that neck of the woods:
  10. Don't be jealous Ron...you know, once this turbo stuff goes on, The world's rustiest header will finally be yours for the taking.
  11. Just looking at the nose on the "Macau 240z", it's hard to tell if there is an air dam under the nose extension or not. If no, I would expect that to get light in the front at speed. This is the car in question, right? I linked this pic from http://www.zhome.com.
  12. This is going to be so awesome...now if only I'll be able to find a strut mount at the junkyard!
  13. http://tampa.craigslist.org/pts/315419210.html
  14. Maybe we'll have to have a "Most Spectacular Engine Failure" award to go along with the "Total Z-car Domination" award then...
  15. Just realized I never posted my newly painted and re-tired wheel shots to this thread:
  16. Update on my turbo collection. I'm not sure which intercooler I'll be using. The square one is from a Nissan Sunny Pulsar GTi-R SR20DET that my friend had in his classic SE-R before he went front mount ($40), and the busted looking rectangle one is an aftermarket unit that came from my buddy's 1995 Saturn SC2 making 350hp to the wheels (even with that big dent in the bottom...darn raccoons...) ($20). I got an SSautocrap T3 to T4 adapter (modified to fit my SSautocrap wastegate). Also, I picked up a .83 on center exhaust housing from an ancient Rajay T4 (the turbo is a Garrett T04) that I'm using partially for the smaller A/R than the one that came on it (1.15 tangential housing) but mostly for the 4 bolt exhaust flange built into it (the old housing didn't have a flange). I need to make a decision on an intercooler, and then I need to figure out how I'm going to route the plumbing. Then I need to do a smoky burnout...
  17. Might as well...I've got nothing better to do, do you?
  18. Don't forget that with my classy P79 head conversion I'm actually running a full point lower compression than the old N42, so my boost should be fine. Also I've got my completely untuned Megasquirt that's running so rich that I probably won't even have to adjust anything after I put it on! Also, the bad ring I've got on cylinder number 2 should help keep my pressure down, at least on that one anyway...
  19. Alright OTM, I see that you're getting pretty smug about all this "progress" you've been making lately. Well, I'm here to say that while you've been putting high compression NA L26's together, I've been slowly, quietly, yet steadily gathering up stuff to give my L28 the blaze of glory it so richly deserves....OBSERVE! I haven't decided which intercooler I want to use to display my car's alpha status over yours, but whichever it is, I've determined that there needs to be an L-series last hurrah sometime before 2010, sort of a pre-smackdown smackup if you will. I can go to my local drag strip once all this crap is under my hood instead of in my closet, you can do the same, and we can compare times. If you do it in Pensacola we shouldn't have too much of an altitude discrepancy... Let the smack talk resume.
  20. When I was in Paris in 05 those things were everywhere. The roadster bears a strong resemblance to the Elise, and looks very sporty. I would love to have one of those for zipping around town, but I'm not sure if it's cost effective for me to get into a new car payment right now with me trying to go back to school in the next few months... One of the neat things about the Fortwo and Forfour is that you can change out the plastic fairings with different colored ones fairly easily, that way you can put the hello kitty graphics on there for the wife, and then have the Ninja Turtle graphics on there when you take it out. Or whatever you guys are into...
  21. Do all 510s have live axle rear ends? I always assumed that they were independant...NICE wagon by the way, I'm glad to see somebody living the dream.
  22. Don't feel sad Davy, you're in the loop now! You've got PM...
  23. "Erroneous! Erroneous on all counts!"
  24. Looks like this is turning into a contest after all!
