  1. I just found out about this show called "Ninja Warrior" on tech tv. It's been on in Japan for about 15 seasons (I only know that because they mentioned something about a guy that's been in it for the last 14 seasons), and only one guy has ever won the whole thing in all that time...It's like MXC on Spike TV, except with real athletes instead of joe off the street: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LJPGIjybBo It might be the best thing on tv...
  2. I had the misfortune of driving an automatic six cylinder mustang during my trip to vegas, and man that thing was a DOG! Struggling to maintain the speed limit as soon as I hit some elevation changes...One time I floored it just to see what kind of acceleration it had, and it just sat there at full rev in between first and second like it didn't know what to do...I had to let off and start over before it would shift...
  3. I don't think that guy is using MSPaint, by the way. He's got some features and tools that my version at least doesn't have...
  4. I fully expected to see pictures of my car when I opened this thread...my body work is pretty bad... Anybody catch the price tag of the second car? 80k!!!! the first car is only 6500, it MUST have cost more than that to build.
  5. Oldestzguy, you got me on that one...I'm thinking it was the guy from Wacky Races that looked like Dick Dastardly (don't remember his name, though), but I wouldn't bet my wife on it...(as per the rules, I didn't use the internet, so you'll have to enlighten me as to the correct answer).
  6. Thought for sure you'd have gone for Rex Racer, Ernie! Anybody watch Turbo Teen?
  7. I'll be 27 in April. The bloodninja deal is in the Tool Shed, let me dig up the link... *edit* here you go: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=104653
  8. How about Smurfette? Did you guys know that she's not even a real smurf, she was created in a lab to tempt the other smurfs into getting turned into gold or something? Don't forget about Josie and all the Pussycats! or Jem and the Holograms! I know Cheetara got mentioned on the other thread...Min Mei from Robotech? Miria from Robotech? Trixie from Speed Racer? Was I the only one that watched Silverhawks? Here's the ultimate obscure cartoon: who but me can claim they had a toy from Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors? That was the one where the plants were trying to take over the galaxy, so this kid (very reminiscent of Luke Skywalker) flew around with a wizard (very much like Obi Wan) in a ship piloted by this guy (who looked a lot like Han Solo) trying to find his dad so they could keep the vines from choking out the universe...I had the car that had a buzz saw on top...it's on youtube if you've never seen it. Who was the evil princess from Voltron, she was way hotter than the pink chick that flew the lion... Oh yeah, and so far as I know, Don Adams did the voice of inspector gadget for it's entire shelf life (he was Agent 86, Maxwell Smart on Get Smart-which JUST NOW came out on DVD by the way, but it costs like $200 for the whole series and it's only available from time-life video...for more fabulous Get Smart related trivia, visit www.wouldyoubelieve.com) Also, if anyone would like to go to a place where they talk about fascinating retro-pop culture, you can find out everything you never wanted to know about anything at www.retrojunk.com. Click on a decade, and let the hilarity ensue. It's a much less mature forum than this one, I really can't spend too much time there, but every so often there are some fun articles. The grammar there is beyond bad...
  9. OTM, that's Pimptacular! Looks like Timz's old valve cover!
  10. Well, I don't know if I cast my lot 100% behind Foghorn Leghorn...I would say that Warner Brothers is possibly the greatest Cartoon company of all time with all their characters holding classic status, but as for who's the real G.O.A.T? I'd have to pick a few, in no particular order: -Mr. Mackey (M'kay?) -Mr. Slave (Jethuth Chritht!) -Coach McGurk (from home movies-if you haven't seen it, see it) -the moonenites (Bow to your digital ruler! No one can withstand the quad laser!) -Carl (from Aqua Teen Hunger Force also-I don't NEED no instructions, to know how to RAWK!) -Snarf (snarf snarf)-ok that one was a joke, he's right down there with Orco for being one of the most useless characters ever -Soundwave from transformers -Quick Kick from GI joe Man, I could go on and on, I guess I've seen too many cartoons...what about Launchpad McQuack? Or Huey Dewey and Louie? Inspector Gadget (even though he was just a watered down cartoonated version of Maxwell Smart...)? Hannah Barbera had a lot of great cartoons back in the day, like Space Ghost, Johnny Quest, Birdman, the Herculoids...most of whom have come back as even greater characters on their Cartoon Network. I really like the Venture Bros., Brock Sampson should be on the list too i think... I'll start a much easier to choose side poll: Worst character of all time? -Scrappy Doo -Snarf -Ed, Edd, or Eddy? -slimer
  11. In an attempt to send a smoke signal to Oregon saying that the ZZZap! was ready for business, I learned that my megasquirt doesn't like to do burnouts...I'm not sure what's going on, but it doesn't sound good right now. It sounds like I'm not firing on all six, and I get a lot of vibration and no power (this all came immediately following the clutch drop...). I guess I'll have to break out the old laptop and see what's going on yet again...
  12. shhh..nobody tell OTM, but I watched that video of the japanese drag racing before I drew that group B drawing too....Oh, did I say that out loud? busted... My favorite Lancia rally car besides the Stratos is the 037: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk2Eq_D-Pgk&mode=related&search=
  13. WOW! That thing is serious business...
  14. "Hey Joe, I think you got him!" "what?" "I said: I think you GOT HIM!" "WHAT?!" "I SAID: I. THINK. YOU. oh never mind."
  15. Pepe was pretty sweet...He was no Foghorn Leghorn (well, he wasn't really Count Duckula or Danger Mouse either), but he was pretty sweet...
  16. Good thing you got that how to rebuild your chevy v-8 book for christmas! Oh wait, 289 is a ford motor...well, good luck anyway! Once I get my SBC (I refuse to say "if", it's "when") we can have a smackdown!
  17. freehand with no reference material, trackball mouse, in MSPaint, since I posted that last post 35 minutes ago:
  18. You're killing me, dude! I love the MSA type III but I just don't have the cash...what a low price!
  19. OTM's got a thread going about this same video in the non-tech...Maybe I'll try my hand at this, I used to be reasonably proficient at drawing in MSPaint...
  20. I made a self portrait in MSPaint awhile ago. Not as fast as that guy's sped up video, or as detailed, but I like it.
  21. Well now you know, and knowing is half the battle!
  22. I like the "model specific information" that it advertises...I may order this one of these days, just for the coffee table value...
  23. Sigh...you would phil, you would...On an un-related to drawing note, I've been thinking of stretching my spook out with some fiberglass additions so that it blends into some mild fender flares. I like how it looks now, but it stops before it gets all the way to the front of the tire.
  24. I thought this show was really clever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23ismFj-Nvk
