Wow...that makes me feel like a jacka**. I had a bad feeling it would come back to bite me when I didn't use Redline like I wanted. The only reason I didn't is because I had to go out of my way to get it and I was pressed for time to get the car back together. I'll post pictures whenever I get to opening up the box.

From Mobil 1 website: "Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-90 meets the most severe API Service MT-1 and GL-5 EP gear oil service classification." I wish I didn't overlook this detail earlier . Would it degrade the brass that quickly though? I only put about 25 miles on the car since the fluid change.

Yeah, 5th gear. I used Mobil 1 75W-90. Previously it had Redline MTL or MT-90. I forget which one I used. Filled it until is started coming out of the fill hole.

Last week I had the unfortunate experience of having my T5 lock up on me at freeway speeds . First let me say I am very lucky to be sitting here typing this un-injured. Could have been ugly. Back to the transmission. Changed the clutch last month so I put in fresh fluid in the tranny and rear end. Felt normal driving on the street and no weird noises so I decided to take the car to work to break in the clutch. Everything is fine for about 20 miles then after punching it to pass a couple trucks the car felt weird during deceleration. Felt like there was more load than normal and the RPMs dropped faster. Gave it some gas and it accelerated fine but the deceleration got worse so I pulled over to the right lane and tried to get to the shoulder. Before I could get fully on the shoulder it locked up and spun me 180 degrees. I didn't hear any mechanical noise before it locked up and I looked under the car and there was no leaking fluid or damage under the car. Clutch pedal feels normal but the tranny is stuck in gear. I haven't had time to take a close look at the car yet since I've been busy with other things so does anyone have any idea what might have happened? Was it just my tranny's "time"?

I was driving home from work yesterday with the cruise set at 80 (I know) when I see in my rear view mirror a car coming up on me fast. I see the LED driving lights and big grille and imediately think R8. I move over and when it gets closer I see the S5 badge on the grille. The car looks good in pictures but it's absolutely beautiful on the road. Has a detuned version of the R8's V8.

I also sold a pair for close to $900 earlier this year so $1200 is possible if someone reaaly wanted them and didn't want to wait around for a better deal. I would never pay even half that much myself though.

Do a search for "fuel pump hotwire". You should be able to find how to properly wire the relay.

When I was running stock electronics it was always the AFM or ECU connection that made it run like crap. Try running without the knock sensor. Check timing and fuel pressure too. That efi bible is great for troubleshooting. Good luck.

Braap - My Z is plan C and we don't have a plan B Drax - I saw your thread and I wasn't going to comment until I was actually set to go look at a car. I found a '94 5 speed 325is that I will probably look at today. Supposedly has all the maintenance records. Any suggestions on what I should look for? Congrats on the purchase BTW.

I didn't get a car yet. I've been taking my time with the search. I really thought I'd be getting a EG civic hatch because of overall price to buy and maintain and there are not a whole lot of decent e36s in my area for the amount I want to spend but there was a 325is listed this weekend that I may check out. If everything looks good I might have to pull the trigger on it. Must be something in the water at hybridZ

You can search car-part.com too. They were also used in frontiers and pathfinders so there should be a bunch out there.

You might as well get the 240mm flywheel now so you don't have to pull the tranny again later.

Do a search for DTM mirrors. Ebay might be your best bet.

Take a look at the LM-1 manual. It gives you info on how to make one out of a copper sheet.

I have a stainless DP with the O2 bung about 3-4 inches from the turbo. I ran my LM-1 on it for months without the sensor going bad. Can't say if it threw the accuracy off because I never compared it on a dyno. I'm in the process of having another bung welded further downstream because it is better but I think you can get by running it closer to the turbo with the recommended heatsink. I ran mine without the heatsink.

After thinking about it the last 2 days, I think the 2 seaters are out. A Mazda 323 GTX would be cool if I could find one.

AK-Z - I would go for a swift but I hardly ever see them for sale around here. I recently sold our '08 Odyssey and bought a '09 Fit sport. It's a little under powered but still a blast to drive. The wife loves it. It's been getting 36 mpg too. Right now we share the Fit which is why I need my own commuter. jknc90 - I've considered a maxima but it's kinda at the bottom of the list. I know they are decent cars but they just seem a little boring to me.
