  1. So do we have a date for when this event is going to happen? Also does everyone that donated get a donation bar under thier user name?
  2. Yeah dad just got back from irag last May. I don't think I could have gone through what he went through over there and come back even remotely normal. My hat is off to all you vets out there, past and present.
  3. BTW the link is to a song by redgum I was only 19
  4. For all you vietnam vets out there! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHbR_W0eIpA# You will forever have my respect and admiration for your service!
  5. Hey classiczcars is posting some really neat links over there, check it out! http://zhome.com/ZAerodynamics/AeroMillspaughPart1.htm here is the link to the thread http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24228
  6. Little off topic but thats more or less how I learned to weld, only instead of making a cart I made a small cannon. HB280ZT is right doing is a great way to learn.
  7. I'm 20 my isurance is through USAA I have had no accidents and I'm single. I pay just over 50 a month, I can't complain USAA has been great to me.
  8. Is that the car in your sig? I ask b/c in you sig it says you are running EFI but unless my eyes mistake me I think that motor is running a carb.
  9. alright it works now I should have waited longer, and damn that thing sounds so MEAN!
  10. I guess the general thought are that this wouldn't be a good idea then?
  11. Beautiful nah it's not beautiful, it gorgeous. I just can't decide which car I was refering to, between the corvete and the Z I'm drooling on my self!
  12. That is amazing for the money you have it, it really is, keep up the good work!
  13. I have one question though, do those that donated get the nifty "donating member" under thier name? Oh and BTW I posted a link to this thread on zdriver and classiczcars to try and get more involvment.
  14. I tired to set him right from the start but there is no point as he wouldn't listen to reason, and even after he was given the information he asked for he just kinda blew it off and changed gears a bit to start attacking peoples responses. I think hybriz77z is a good guy but he can be thick headed sometimes, can't he see what we are trying to achieve here?
  15. I agree with Globerunner513 this needs to be more in the forefront of this site so it gets the most traffic as possible!
  16. 1 L28 Whole Several EFI manifolds 1 SU manifold 3 Rusty bodies 2 sets of wheels Boxes and boxes of parts ie dizzy, coil, TB, AFM ect I'll cut it short - take 3 complete part car apart and thats what I have in the barn.
  17. Payment sent, I know it's not much but I sent it in I hope that helps.
  18. I will be donating a small amount soon, has anybody posted this over at zcar.com, I don't remeber if the rules there prohibit this type of program of not. Either way it would be good to at least get the word out to others.
  19. so what do you use for wipers then? I don't plan on doing this project but it would be neat to see how its done. You've got vote of intrest!
  20. I've never seen anyone do this on the N/A. The reason it's so easy on the turbo is because the 280zxt & all Z31's use the same ecu plugs. You just have to cut & solder several wires. You will need the entire Z31 n/a ecu wiring & run it to all the sensors for the N/A L28... or at least cut the Z31 ecu plugs & solder them onto the 280zx n/a ecu harness.... which is about 30 wires (fun!).... and don't forget all the wire tracing to match them to the Z31 ecu (more fun!). You WILL need the 82-83 L28ET distributor w/ the VG30 CAS "chopper wheel" as ALL Z31 ecu's use that optical pickup. I think the reason no one has done this for the 280zx n/a is because it would be too time consuming, for little benefit. If you're going to spend all that time rewiring, go megasquirt. The reason I did the Z31T ecu swap, is because it was very simple... cut n splice a couple wires & pop in the new ecu... much less time n money than swapping to Megasquirt, but with less benefit. Well I found this and it kind of shoots down my hopes. I wanted to do this swap because of the increased tunability, but I guess the cons outweigh the pros. Anybody have another opinion on this swap. What does everybody else think of doing this swap to an N/A car?
  21. was looking though Hybridz trying to find a way to upgrade my the electronics on my 77' 280z on the cheap. Mega squirt seemed to be overly involved and had too many things that could and do go wrong so I kept looking. Well I stumbled upon the Z31 MAF swap; apparently this can be done for under 200 dollars and gives a GREAT improvement over the stock AFM ect but is only for turbo cars. However I have found one reference to this swap on N/A cars. Here is the link to the thread. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread...ap+N%2F A+car in the thread, Grayzee mentioned that the swap should be possible and then the thread just dies without any further information. I need to know if the wiring is the same compared to the L28et to a non turbo l28. If it is then I can use the sticky for this swap this right? I need either to be told if the instructions in the sticky apply to N/A cars or if the wiring is totally different and how to make it work. If it is different would someone mind posting the differences and how to resolve them so I can continue with the swap. Thanks HybridZ!
  22. You want preformace for your 3 cylinders/ small four cylinders? This site is the holy grail of building small motors, they specialize in Suzuki Swift, Geo Metro, Holden Barina, Chevy Sprint, Pontiac Firefly and the ford fiesta. Have fun! http://www.teamswift.net/
