  1. Check your thermotime and water temp sensor, they are found near and below the thermostat facing the radiator. Please check for the following in order of likely-hood. 1. Make sure that both sensor's contact points are clean and dry 2.Make sure that they are not swapped with one another (often and easily done as they are the same plug) 3. Check downstream of the sensors for two bullet connectors. These are about a foot downsteam, clean them. 4. Check for wires that are pulled out of the sensors but that are still in the plug. This doesn't happen often but it does happen. 5. Near the two sensors I mentioned is a third sensor but I forget its name. anyway its a female bullet connector, dissconnect it and clean it. One of those should be your running rich issue if its computer/sensor realted. I hope that helps.
  2. How much in terms of horse power/ torque do those mini motors put out? Is it realative to the scale. For instance if a SBC has 100 hp would the 1/12 model SBC put out 12 HP?
  3. also just saw it, very good movie. However lets have a moment of silence for smokescreen.........................................ok
  4. I've redone 3 dashes using this method and sold each for over 550 USD. All the buyers were very pleased, heck even my own dash was redone wasing this method. Another way is the was cold fusion did it. Check out his.
  5. c'mon none of the links worked, I really want to see these cars.
  6. Yes, you'll have to drop the tank. The bumper is held on by two shocks that must be un mounted from the bumper. Then the shocks must be removed that's why the gas tank has to dropped. The driver side shock comes out easily but the passenger won't come out unless you drop the tank.
  7. I've seen that truck in action at the local 1/8 drag, wow doesn't cut it!
  8. any updates on this swap? It looks be a nice legal alternative to the rb swaps
  9. I agree the one thing I miss the most is the old links that would take me to the post in the last 24 hours or 3 days. I used those the most and now they are gone. Without that button wading through the site is a bit more time consuming. Could we get those buttons back?
  10. BRAAP, all those sound like great solutions. I for one would be prefectly happy to pay a small members fee for the cerain perks mentioned above
  11. I dunno about you guys but the adds I'm seeing are for an "intimate dating" site and for something called bonco or bunco something like that. Either way it is all a bit on the annoying side.
  12. Solved the problem, I pulled the afm after checking continuallity at the starter and fuel pump wires, they all checked out. After pulling the AFM i noticed that the "angel" switch that kicks the fuel pump on after the engine starts wasn't making contact with the pin next to it. So after some creative bending I made said contact, contact again where it was supposed to and wala the car starts and runs great, thanks for everyone's help!
  13. right it does run when spliced into the wiring for the fuel pump under the seat, we just shoved a loose wire into one of the bullet connectors and ran the other end of the wire to the postive battery terminal. I think all hotwiring it proved was that the pump was good and the wiring downstearm of the splice is good. Also if the car starts up at frist without being hotwired would that show that the pump is getting good voltage?
  14. Frist of all this is a stock 77 280z and I have had this problem before, or at least similiar symtoms. The car sat for about a month and before that time it started and ran fine. I have already cleaned all the contacts ie TPS, head temp, thermotime ect. I just refurbished the gas tank and injectors so there is NO rust in that or any of the filters. I can run a wire from the postive side of the battery to the fuel pump wire and the car will run just fine, however if I don't use said wire the car will run for roughly 2 seconds or so and die as it is not getting any fuel. Now when I had this problem before the AFM wires were loose and the car's fuel pump wasn't getting the signal to start pumping. That isn't the problem this time, as I have cleaned the wires many times and made darn sure that they are plugged in. Does anyone have anyideas why this car is shutting down soon after start up?
