  1. if they don't, digi-key.com does. or look for electronics stores in your area, there should be atleast one local place. even if it doesn't work properly later, there is a step-by-step fault-check guide on the website that tells you how to test various parts of the board in sequence. I remember being handed a board that was fried @ the processor and the power supply IC. I then replaced that (u16, i think), and then installed a number of modifications to get a VW ignition system to run on a Hyundai GC4N engine (i think that's what it was, I didn't get much detail). It ended up working and I never saw the ignition system, or the car/engine either. I just did it, got 100 bux for it, and heard it worked from the guy months later when he asked me to work on a BMW ignition system, which I didn't go through with. LOL
  2. that is a cool bit of kit. I love how the turbo is like "HELLO, ENGINE".
  3. thinking that way will cost you money when your piston breaks through a water/oil passage and turns sideways in the bore, damaging more than just your block.
  4. congrats on the clean install! of the engine, the accessories, the wolf, the guages, and windows xp so no body sees your pr0n collection! Swaaaaaaaaaaayte! always cool to put a face to a name on HZ!
  5. its ok man. its a relatively involved procedure, and you're bound to make mistakes. The good thing is that the circuit protection is quite robust, and it's hard to damage the whole board. i think you should be proud of the fact that you're doing this yourself rather than buying the board complete. I did this for a friend and I will charge someone to do it next time, even though it took me roughly 4 hours or so, combined time. + 2 hours of modifications.
  6. that's the spirit garage z, and it's not a commercial from nissan.
  7. I'd prefer a pair of cantalopes in the passenger seat.
  8. you really should examine the picture a bit more. it says "photos & owner" in the copyrights. search that persons name and you may be able to get some more info, but don't expect it to be a mold or a kit, the car was completely custom with a lot of goodies and has a full rollcage, aluminum dash, and a VH45DETT.
  9. As a Graphic Designer, I'm actually quite impressed that you had the patience to use the paintbrush to block out that entire background on the second picture.
  10. technically, an Otto cycle (as well as any other kind of engine) is not really a "X cycle" engine, rather it is a single cycle engine (again, most engines would be) with X amount of steps within the cycle. to have a 6 cycle engine gauge is to monitor 6 individual "X Steps" cycles.
  11. this is what it's all about!
  12. yeah man, that is going to perform better than stock, no doubt. when i meant it was good to get it running and have fun with it, i meant it's going to take some damn good abuse. LOL. I have stainless flanges for my RB, but i'm thinking of getting regular steel flanges so that its' easier for me to weld my first header up (haven't welded stainless with my mig)
  13. Can we make this a sticky after we've agreed that these, or any outstanding details that must be included can accurately convey the modifications and setups which one may require to travel at these speeds safely and consistently? Lets put an end to these "9 fragillion horsepower = -23 seconds on the quarter mile" threads, thus making planet earth rotate backwards... Perhaps if we pile up enough info here, we could send our solar system into a backspin towards the sun... 5 Lowest Elapsed Times: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 5 Highest Trap Speeds: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please use this form: Location Track/Metering Device: Weather/Lane Conditions: Reaction Time: 60 Foot Time: 1/8th Mile Time: 1/4 Mile Time: Trap Speed: Vehicle Details Chassis/Year: Brief Engine Description: Brief Suspension Description: Additional Power Adders: Peak Positive Pressure (PSI): Transmission Type: Final Drive Ratio: Tire Size: Tire Model/Compound: Estimated/Tested Wheel Horsepower: Estimated/Tested Vehicle Weight:
  14. I'd say flat 11. Tire size/compound is not accounted for, as well as ambient air temperature and track temp. a STOCK RB26 with the boost at about 11psi is what got stony to 11.2 no? IMHO a nice cruiser to kick vette and viper ass definately does not need 550 tq, nevermind 700.
  15. really? well the BMW head was a bit bigger than the GTR head anyway, and had the VANOS so it might add to the weight. so 70 lbs to be safe is pretty good. Maybe I can get this head within the next month or so.
  16. cause turning cars into twisty pretzels is part of the Z experience.
  17. Hi Gents. It looks like i'll finally get my RB26 head with all the associated components that i've paid for, MINUS the block that it was going to come with. (that will come later) so now what I need to know is.... how much does the bare head weigh, if anyone has checked? Quentin? I know you had one sitting for sale at Whiteheads, and I've lifted a BMW I6 head for a 535i before and I can say it was around 80 - 110 lbs with the cams and valves and various stuff on it. Anyone have a more accurate figure for the RB26 or 25 heads? ITBs here we commmmmmmes!
  18. TB48DE 1FZ-ZE both are 4+ Litre I6's. both are iron monsters. both weigh more than the entire front end of the car, practically.
  19. they're perfectly fine to get it running and have fun with it, I'm sure. even if you have a machine that could make a header on the press of a button, you gotta start somewhere and there will most likely be mistakes. i say good work! !!! !!!!!
  20. I noticed that the fuel filter on the 76 s30 sits directly over the alternator too. and they have shitty hoses most of the time when you find the gems.
  21. I hope you've factored in that if you want to beat corvettes (C6 Z06, I assume) with all 600 ftlbs of torque you plan to pull, you're gonna be paying close to what you can probably find a C5 Z06 used for. And it will probably still have a dealer warranty of some sort. All of which you could do with maybe 350 to 400 hp in the same car with some moderately lightweight replacement parts. Why the high numbers for? Are you prepared for that kind of work? I find it unnecessary
  22. Yeah i noticed erics prices were a little high, like oil pumps and water pumps and shiiiiiz. im not gonna bother with any fancy gasket like that, I might need to go copper anyway =(
  23. in doing this, doesnt one run RB25 cams on the RB26 head though? For aftermarket, what does this accomplish, if at all compatible.
