  1. GEEZ. That sounds like quite the spectacle. I'm having a hard time figuring out the right wing tip part... must have been some crosswind. It's a direct drive to the prop right? So I'm guessing a lot of internal parts are going to need replacing as well? Ouch
  2. Direct quote from a passenger boarding a few weeks ago: Passenger - "Um, excuse me...where's the back of the plane?" (boarding from stairs at front and aft of the plane, with the entire aircraft clearly visible as passengers walk towards it) I can't WAIT until I get to have a nice reinforced door that locks between me and the cattle.
  3. Just picked up a '72 bumper in fairly good condition. Few dings here and there, and the chrome could be in better shape. Small amounts of surface rust here and there. Overall it is a nice piece, but I'd like to fix it up a bit more. From what I can find out, re-chroming looks to be about $200 or so. I thought instead, I might sand/grind it down and try polishing it myself. I've done some smaller things, but still getting the hang of it. Will the metal used for the bumper even be able to pull out a nice shine? Apparently nothing came up on a search, so perhaps there's a reason no one has done it much.
  4. This is still alive? My goodness GERM, pm a mod if you want to whine. All you're doing here is RUINING your credibility among us.
  5. why shouldn't they lock this thread? Doesn't seem to serve much purpose either.... Perhaps sending a PM to the admin that locked your threads would be a better approach?
  6. lol there is a curse on 'rust free' cars being sent to that part of the world... Search for "Hugo" on this site, and you'll see what I mean. Good luck to you and your project!
  7. FANTASTIC write up! Excellent description of everything you did. Thank you! This will be very helpful when explaining things to the shop that should be welding on my sleeves when they become available for 280z's.
  8. Keep close watch on the rear view in the bottom right corner. Thats just incredible. Absolutely did not see THAT coming
  9. Perfect, thank you. I have one available for him from a 280z, but I could not find an answer if it would in fact work for him or not. meijerbrantm if you're still interested shoot me a pm
  10. There are quite a few different levels of karts, and shifter karts. I'm pretty sure he understands what level is appropriate for a 6 year old. I think its a great idea for a Father/Daughter project. EDIT: oh yeah, haha sweet vid!
  11. Drax, Did you install these in an S30? If so, what did you do for mounting? I knew it would be a hurdle when I bought these, especially since I don't have a welder. Any suggestions? I got them used, but very lightly. Payed $300 so I think I made off alright. I agree though, I would not pay $750 for these I don't think. Still a nice seat for sure.
  12. well I'm a couple hundred $$ lighter, and now I have two seats sitting in the living room. Pics to follow. Even though they're knockoffs, I'm happy with the purchase. I'll hopefully test fit them in the car this weekend.
  13. you can get a 4 point, but get a SCHROTH harness at least. Pretty much the only 4 point with anti-submarining. Otherwise, as above stated, go for the 5 point and save your spine. It's an interesting idea though. Good luck if you decide to do it.
  14. Personally, I think the design looks better on a mustang, and should stay on a mustang. However, as stated before, it is YOUR car and if you enjoy it and are proud of the work you put into it, then have at! I would love to see how you plan to tweak the design (if any).
  15. Changing the oil filter on a Chevy Cavalier... They decide to put it RIGHT NEXT to the exhaust manifold on the BACK of the engine. Can't get it from the bottom cause of a rail/engine mount, and if you try from the top, you're getting burned. I'm glad I don't work at a quick oil change shop every day. Oh, and customers with cars.
  16. I don't quite like that their photos are of BRIDE seats, with the bride logo blurred... EDIT: nevermind their website has the pictures.
  17. I think we're stumped. I've never seen that piece before, but it looks pretty slick. Perhaps a custom?
  18. whoops thought I had uploaded that picture. There was one of those minis too..
  19. yeah, right now it's about $1k for a pair of decent used ones. Just too rich for me right now.
  20. Thought I had a pm exchange with this member, but it looks like if I did, it got deleted. Definitely is a nice blue though.
  21. I think knockoffs are about all I'm going to be doing right now unfortunately. I don't really want to drop more than $300 or so at the moment, and that's what I've been able to talk this guy down to. There are a few other knockoffs that I've seen for a little bit less, but not in suede, which I actually like. The one thing I'm not so excited about is the weight of these seats. Does anyone know what a typical knockoff weighs in at? Real Recaro's I think should be about 20lbs or so...no? These are 32lbs...
  22. I flew down to LA with my Dad this past weekend to see the MSA show, and stay with my Uncle down there. On the way from the MSA show, we stopped at a big 'woodie' car show. Some pretty incredible cars there. Restored & Original
  23. same here. Just hammered away. WD40, and a torch when it was really stubborn. Threaded a nut on the end and just pounded. still took a few hours though.
  24. Yeah, definitely recaro look-alikes. Better than some of the other knockoffs I think. I wish I could find a set of SRD's at a decent price. I found a pair of these Yonaka's for a great deal. Thinking I might just jump on it and make them work.
