  1. I haven't done many local moves like you are looking to do, but I have moved several times to different countries/continents and I will give you this advice. It is a great opportunity to rethink what you really need (possessions) and to get rid of the accumulated junk. When I moved to the States, some 9 years ago now (this time around anyways), ALL of my stuff, and the Missus's stuff fit onto one pallet that came out via Air Chance (AKA Air France). It is very liberating to start fresh....more expensive over the long run, and it will take a while to have all the little things again, but nice nonetheless. BTW...I will be visiting the East Coast (likely Charlotte and surrounding areas this summer) to look at the opportunities out there. I want to get there at the apex of the heat/humidity to get a 'real' flavour.....
  2. Why not just step up to a better crate engine? A few more bucks now will save you a lot of bucks down the road. Try the ZZ4 or similar. There are a bunch of 330-360hp crates for decent $$.
  3. I will bet it's a vacuum leak after the MAF. Unplug the MAF (leave it in place, just pull the plug) and start it.....it will default to speed density and take the vacuum leak into account and run fine. If that works, then find the leak, fix it and plug the MAF back in.
  4. Yeah, if you can live with Centerline's designs, look at their wheel deals page. I got a set of 4 16" x 8" rims in their billet series for just over $400. I picked them up, so I didn't have to pay for shipping, but I did have to pay the 8% CA tax...... http://www.centerlinewheels.com/wheel_deals_list.php
  5. Do yourself a favour and just buy a crate motor. No offence meant, but you obviously have very little experience with such things and you will be better off with a tried and true unit with a warranty. Try the following: http://www.sdpc2000.com/catalog/63/Crate-Engines.htm
  6. And here I am.....two TO4 garretts, 1 set of header adapters (Stahl pattern), one set of header flanges, 2 SBCs to test on, a FI system, a FI intake manifold......it's coming together 4 years later......
  7. Is that the famous Z car floor pan rust I hear so much about
  8. Fight fire with fire.....file a suit or an order against her and make her go through hell....
  9. Just throw a rag on top of the water pump and let the fluid drip onto that. You aren't going to get a whole bunch of coolant out of it....just a bit...
  10. You may have air in the system foaming up the coolant. Did you bleed from the bleed screw by the thermo housing? Also, if you originally had dex-cool (AKA Death Cool) in the cooling system, you will need to bback flush the whole system, put in a flushing agent, then flush again. Here is a DIY flushing kit: http://www.pacificp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1202
  11. Damn...that guy has terrible spelling!! Nice conversion though...
  12. Dan is aware of the slow response problem and is working on it.....you guys did clear your cookies, right?
  13. I painted my 71 C20 with single stage Omni. I was actually more pleased than I had expected to be. It has been a year and it still looks perfect, and I live right near the ocean, so the truck is almost constantly wet....... Tim
  14. Tranny fluid coolers generally have smaller tubes than oil coolers and will create a flow volume problem (remember tranny fluid has a much lower viscosity than oil), so make sure you get an oil cooler and not a tranny cooler. I would imagine that this would apply to the radiator based tranny coolers too.....
  15. A prime example of a cheque book driver!!
  16. Nope...not yet...I want to wait until the paint is done. It does have a V8 and auto tranny though, and a solid rear end...
  17. After spending some more time looking at the photos, I will concede my earlier rash statement. ....and Sparks.....I completely appreciate "Dedication". I spend 12 years of my life dedicated to bodybuilding. I placed 6th in a National show several years ago, then blew out both knees training for the next one (hadn't allowed my body to recoup sufficiently after the contest dieting). That's all I did through those years....ate, slept, trained....everything else was a side bar.... Your point is well taken though.....
  18. The ONLY way to gain that kind of lean mass in 3 months is with 'juice'. That "it's all diet" claim is complete and utter BULL!!
  19. Good story, however, there is one major, and glaring hole in the tale. A faux-par which single handedly removes all validity to the ordeal. An error, which to the untrained eye could go unnoticed, but to the concienscious observer cannot be ignored! J/K.....great story telling prose!!

  21. A brand new one is only about $120
  22. Well.....it's all well and good if everyone actually reads and abides by the rules, but as you know we have a whole set of rules and guidelines and we still have to moderate.....lots of folks either don't read the rules, or don't bother with them......
  23. We have discussed this in the Admin forum several times and we have decided that it is not the responsibility of HZ to moderate these types of transactions, or be involved in members getting into 'pissing' matches about who did what, when and why, and whether the feedback is legit and appropriate. Bottom line is: Caveat Emptor. It is up to the buyer to decide whether or not the seller is to be trusted.
