  1. I have bought a set of Stahl bolt pattern adapters (aluminum) and 3/8" header flange (steel) to match, and plan to make the headers similar to this guy: http://www.grapeaperacing.com/ There is a guy on Ebay that makes some great adapters and flanges for a very reasonable price. I will be running 2 x TO4 Garretts on a 357ci SBC.
  2. Nice!! Hmmm....looks like someone needs to do some housekeeping in the garage
  3. On the other hand, {playing Devil's advocate here}, the older guys maybe should get the better work/jobs as they have already "put in their time" with the crappy stuff.....kinda climbing the corporate ladder type deal. I don't think anyone should expect to be handed the caviar when they are the "newer guy". If I were the "older" guy and the "good" work was handed to the "younger" guys, I would certainly raise holy hell! Hopefully you are not moving back to the bottom of the ladder by moving shops.
  4. Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I will try them. The one thing that I loved about ReSizeMe, was that I could highlight a bunch of pictures in windows explorer, then right click and select "resize" and choose a size....DONE. Very quick and easy.
  5. Banks does sell them, at over $1000.00 IIRC!! And, I have heard that the flow is terrible.
  6. I think that I have done almost 100% of my projects exclusively alone. It gets tricky sometimes (like trying to remove and replace a hood on a 71 C20), but it certainly makes a person creative and definitely makes muscles hurt....I enjoy working by myself...its kinda relaxing. I actually dislike asking for help....i guess in the back of mind it is like I am admitting defeat!
  7. I can see this one going downhill fast. Keep it calm and be sensitive to other members' lifestyles.
  8. I am looking for that little freeware application for resizing pictures, resizeme. Resizeme.com is no longer valid. Anyone have the actual application? I got a new laptop at work and that was a brilliant little application, but I don't have it anymore!
  9. I used the cardboard paper towel inner roll. Used scissors to cut the end to the shape I needed, then slipped it over the tube and transferred the shape. For tubing larger than the roll, I cut the roll lenth-wise ans taped 2 rolls together to make it a larger diameter template. Works great and is free.
  10. I would carry: Set of radiator and heater hoses generic electric fuel pump, some fuel line and clamps a roll of electrical wire, tape and snippers a roll of bailing wire and duct tape (both good for misc. quick fixes) Make sure you have a goos spare tire and jack that works and correct size lug wrench. Couple of screwdrivers, a vise grip and an adj. wrench. That should get you through the majority of stuff that could go wrong....
  11. Please post in classifieds. Thanks.
  12. I have never had much luck with the parts store aerosol high temp paints. They never seems to last more that a few heat cycles. Now that said, I have only ever used them on headers, which do tend to get much hotter than the exhaust. POR-15 has a high temp exhaust coating that may be worth looking in to. No experience, but it looks promising. Tim
  13. [edit] Nevermind....so terribly sorry to have offended you.

    V8 driveshaft

Any driveshaft shop can make what ever you want. Just provide them measurements.
  15. This question has been asked a million times and there are tons of data in the archives. Please use the search function for a while. You WILL find your answer there
  16. OMG!! That sentence is horrendous!! If their design team would get their head out of their collective anus's maybe they wouldn't be losing out to Ford and Dodge. They're = They are *sorry, couldn't resist* BTW, I agree with you on GM's rebadging foreign cars for cheap marketting and customer recognition. LeMans = Opel Astra/Kadett = POS
  17. Find someone in Japan, or someone local who can speak the language and call the factory.

  19. If you want to know the correct break in procedures, call the factory, or a licensed dealer. Get it from the horses mouth instead of trusting anecdotal advice from others. Tim
  20. I merged the two posts. Not necessary to start a whole new post to conclude this one.
  21. There are rumours that GM will begin a sales blitz this month on all vehicles to spark some enthusiasm in their products (huge discounts and the 72 month/0% deals). I think GM has some good products, esp. in the truck department, but from what I can tell, their warranty/customer service is crap!
  22. I thought it was based on the Federal IRS rate.....
  23. We get 42c per mile here....
