  2. Have a look here: http://www.pacificp.com/forum/index.php and here: http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/ A couple of guys have done it there (esp. the first link) and search around and PM the guys, they are really good about giving help. Tim
  3. VoilaCleff and Lewis, Stop this pissing match!
  4. Yeah, I used to do that to BMWs all the time back in my alignment days. Used a bracket that bolted to the hub, then basically a big 'C' clamp around the strut and a porta-power between that and the hub bracket and pump away to 'bend' the camber negative. I have never seen any shop in this country doing it..... Tim
  5. Hylomar is gasoline safe. Available at any parts store. http://www.hylomar.com/
  6. Saw a beautiful silver 240Z at California Speedway today. I took my kid out to the Kart racing at Fontana (AKA Fontucky) and there were some drifters out there too. As I was pulling out I saw a gorgeous Z ahead of me. It obviously had the I6 in it (from the sound). It was flawless in every way! Just curious if it is owned by someone here....
  7. Absolutely correct...there are no 'cures in a bottle'. Sea Foam, or Techron (the only ones that work well AFAIK), should be used as a regular maintenance type thing. If you use it every 10k miles or so, there shouldn't be enough crud built up to cause an major issues. Tim
  8. I've used SF on a few of my cars and some friends' cars....it kicks @$$!! Read the directions and it will do the trick.
  9. Autobots!: Transform! Plenty.....but I knew 'why' I was buying it and what I would use it for. Just ribbin' ya man! I have been told that I have a "gauge fettish" by someone on this board. I like to know what is going on with all the systems when I am driving, although I have never felt the need to install a vac gauge... Tim
  10. You bought something without even knowing why you wanted it, or what it is used for?
  11. Correct. You have to check out manually and not via the "one click" checkout. Click the radio button for saver shipping and add the code in the promotion box on the right side of the checkout page.

  13. I have Farmers ins. on my house and all my vehicles. I had agreed value coverage on the Z for $20k. It was still a very cheap premium. When the Z had its dance with the Z28, it destroyed the custom rear panel. Farmers didn't even bat an eye....I took it to my neighbors bodyshop, and it was fixed...no getting multiple quotes or anything. My premium didn't even go up. I will stay with farmers because of the excellent treatment I received!! When I initially insured it, I just sent my agent a link to my website. it had pictures and all the mods I had done. No problems at all...... Tim
  14. From my experience having stuff freighted overseas, is that you have to have a business account with the shipper (excl. UPS, FedEx, DHL), otherwise they will not accept the shipment. Something to do with new Homeland Security rules. I tried to ship some parts to my Dad in S. Africa, and had to use USPS in the end. I live within spitting distance of the Cargo terminals at LAX, so I figured it would be easy....drive over, drop the box, leave.....I tried them all, even consolidators!!! Tim
  15. Yup, the MS powertools app is perfect!! Thanks guys!!
  16. Jeff, have a look here: http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com I have been to their shop and spoken to them a few times. They seem to be a class act and have a good rep in the industry. The tranny came in several cars in the mid to late 80s, and early 90s IIRC, Buicks, OLds and Pontiac full size cars and wagons. Most have a 'universal' belhousing that will fit the SBC. Do a google search to find the exact cars. I pulled one out of a Regal Wagon IIRC. Obviously the ideal donor would be the GNX as it was built the strongest from the factory, but since you would likely need to have it built anyways, you may as well order one from above. Tim
  17. Sounds like maybe a loose connection at the battery or the starter. Jiggle them a bit and see if it helps. If it does, then check that they are tight.
  18. All I will say: Build the engine and the host will come in time....
  19. Probably just all the metal flexing (contracting) as it cools
  20. Amen to that!! My absolute favourite car of all time!!!
  21. I agree. I spend a LOT of time looking at a problem before I actually tackle it. Not sure if it is being dilligent, or procrastinating......In my case it's 70% thinking and 10% fabricating, then 20% reworking the original fabrication. I have found often that my best results are when I just start building without thinking about it....
