  1. Bill, You can get O2 sensor simulators that plug into the harness to fool the PCM into thinking that the O2 sensors are there. See here: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CEI%2D104033 Tim
  2. RSVPs so far: John Coffey Owen Dave from Oceanside (& Spouse?) Matt & Spouse Spencer Bang Alfonso Huy Ryan Jason & Spouse Bryan Lama Van Have I left anyone out? Tim

  5. Is this possible without damaging or scarring the glass? I figure a razor blade across the inside surface of the glass, but wanted to see if anyone else has done this.... I want to get the rear glass and the two 1/4 windows tinted and I won't ever be using the defroster. Thanks... Tim
  6. Hmmmm... a Chevy man huh...drop a chevy V8 in that thing and that will solve your tune up problems. Tim
  7. It'll be easier to paint it green again, and it would look nice, but crap that's a nice color blue!!! Tim
  8. Oh no...we're being over-run!! Estrogen epidemic! Tim
  9. WOW!! Easy solution...use Chevy Tim
  10. Rufus, The fenders are original. It took a lot of work to get them straight again, and the bottoms were rusted out (like most Z cars do) as were the rockers forward of the rear wheels. All the bodypanels are original except of course the rear panel (see link in my signature for pics) and the bumper, which is 'glass, and the hood, which is obviously later model 280Z with the vent holes. All the bodywork was done by me up to, and including, the primer. The actual color was sprayed by my neighbor, at his bodyshop. He didn't charge me, even though it took him from noon to 3am to finish it, but I gave him a bottle of booze and $500.00. I did the color sanding and buffing too. Tim
  11. Jon, it's actually purple, not black...it only looks black when there's no direct sunlight hitting it. (Amethyst Purple mettalic...PPG)-1998 SAAB color book Tim
  12. Not a very sunny day (actually was raining prior to the pictures and you can see the clouds reflected in the paint, but here goes anyways. Still some more work to do (obviously): The color is actually purple, but it's not sunny enough to see it. More here: http://home.earthlink.net/imagelib/sitebuilder/misc/show_image.html?linkedwidth=actual&linkpath=http://home.earthlink.net/~tp2txh/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/rear_high.jpg&target=_self http://home.earthlink.net/imagelib/sitebuilder/misc/show_image.html?linkedwidth=actual&linkpath=http://home.earthlink.net/~tp2txh/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/ds_front.jpg&target=_self http://home.earthlink.net/imagelib/sitebuilder/misc/show_image.html?linkedwidth=actual&linkpath=http://home.earthlink.net/~tp2txh/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/ps_front.jpg&target=_self Whaddya think? 14. 5 Cylinder Audi turbo racing engines at full chatter!!! Pure music... SBC chevy at 9000 rpm!! Tim
  15. Dave, I think it's going to be trial and error. It was for me with the T56, although the pounding was very minimal. Put the engine and box in as a complete combo, with the tailshaft of the box on the ground. Line up the engine mounts and loosely bolt the engine to the X member. Then jack up the tailhousing of the box until you get interference. Mark that spot on the tunnel with the tip of a screwdriver, let down the box and pound away, repeat until you have enough clearance all around the box. I used a piece of 4 x 4 x 4 block of wood inbetween the hammer and tunnel so that I didn't have obvious hammer marks showing through the tunnel. Tim
  16. Man, that Chebby looks pretty!! Kudos man....go get em!! Very nice job!!! Tim
  17. BTW, for lower, stiffer springs try getting a set from a 4 door chevette at the JY. They are bolt in to the Z car and lower it about 1 inch. Scott (ZR8ED) told me about this one, so drop him and email or PM and he may be able to give you some specifics. Tim
  18. A little friendliness and courtesy is not too much to ask is it? Motorsport does have a niche market and their prices, while sometimes a little high, are resonable. It's just the warm fuzzy feeling that's missing, and many times that is worth a hell of a lot! I love ordering stuff from Summit! They have always been very polite and friendly. It's just a pleasure doing business with them. I just don't come away from a transaction with MSA with the same feeling of satisfaction. Tim
  19. OK guys clean up the languge Watch your Ps and Qs!! Nice to have you aboard. What are your plans and where are you, geographically, that is? Tim
  20. SAHM=Stay At Home Mom? Welcome!! Tim
  21. While I totally agree with putting stock in your employees, I think that the average hierarchy in a small company (or any one for that matter) is: #1: The boss #2: The bottom line #3: The suppliers #4: Systems (procurement/accounting etc) #5: The customer #6: The employees. And many times the customer ends up lower as someone that just gets in the way of yanking the $$ of their wallets! Tim
  22. Mike, Is your T5 slave also composite like the T56, or is it aluminum? Tim
  23. Just for reference.....I have the master and slave and braided line from the Z28 donor. They have been sitting on the shelf for so long now, I'm sure that they are bad. Dan, what year and model is that T5 and slave from? Tim
