  2. THe least that the rich bastard could do is to replace the broken floor tiles.....how tacky!! Ok Ok so I'm green with envy!! WOW talk about staining the shorts Tim
  3. I guess that I need to apply for temporary membership!? Tim
  4. Maybe try changing to some redline synthetic fluid. Since you seem to be haing the most problems in cold weather, I bet the fluid in the 'box is too thick in the cold. Tim
  5. I agree with Scottie. A fiberglass hatch would be nice. A fiberglass 'Pantera' style hatch would be even better!! That way the rear glass (which makes up about 60% of the oem hatch's weight) can be deleted and a smaller peice of lexan can be used for the rear vertical window! Tim
  6. The MSA covers (and likely the VB ones too) can be mounted via double sided tape, or you can drill into the buckets in three places. I decided to drill mine....don't want the covers to come flying off at 200 MPH
  7. BTW...many body panels on new car are 'glued' together. So are many parts on the wings and fuselages of aeroplanes. There are products out there that will work. Do a search on KENT autobody products. If you really have a problem getting something welded and its not a main structural member (like patching a rust hole in a fender or floor, the make a patch panel and bond it on. If it's not in a visible area, then before applying the 'glue' drill the holes for rivets, glue it, thenm rivet it too. Tim
  8. SSSAAAWWEEEET!!! 400 ft-lbs at 2200 that's pretty honking torque. time for the LT4 cam? Cool
  9. Ryan, Have you snuck in the supercharger yet without her seeing it Cool numbers!! I wonder if my LT1 Z would take it and live up to it's name! Tim
  10. Arizona Z Car no longer make fiberglass parts. Hasn't for about 4-5 years now. EDIT: I stand corrected. He has 1 set that he 'found' --- $1200.00 http://www.arizonazcar.com/cars
  11. I watched this on Sunday. Really cool. Shame that the quality isn't a little better, but a nice long movie!! I played it for my 3 year old son. He got a huge kick out of it....kept saying stuff like: " He's gonna craaaash!!" and " The police are gonna give him a ticket!!" Man I gotta stop him from hanging out with Mom so much!! Tim
  12. If he want a phone number...go to the 7-11 and get a prepaid cell phone. If it goes sour, throw away the phone. Tim
  13. Good luck, Alex!! I'll be following closely, so make sure that you keep us all updated. Hopefully it won't take you as long to get in on the road, as it did getting it off the road!!
  14. Positive camber can wear them like that too (well almost). Camber wear will show as a smooth wear, whereas toe wear will be a scrub type wear (tire will be feathered). Setting toe is very easy, but you should take it to an alignment shop. Since your car is lowered, I kinda doubt that it's a camber wear. Also, both sides would have to have to have significant + camber to wear the same on both sides. Also, it takes a lot longer for camber to wear tires as there is very little rolling resistance. Toe will wear pretty quickly as the tires are constantly being 'scrubbed'. Tim
  15. Too much positive toe (toe in). Tim
  16. I commend you for the "DIY attitude". Just be carefull of two things: Scope creep (the while I'm at it, i might as well do this, and this -syndrome) Buying 'bling-bling' stuff before the necessities. No matter what you do, your budget forecast will end up much lower than you actually expect.....so watch every penny if this is a low budget exercise. Take from the folks here that have 'been there, done that'....I'm sure that everyone will agree, that's why we are all saying that it's cheaper to buy a completed conversion. good luck and have fun.
  17. Guy, What are you going to use for a collector? Are you going to cut the one off that header in the picture, or going to make one up?
  18. Now that Vantage...that's rolling beauty at it's greatest. That Pontiac has nothing in comparison!! Stunning!! 8) Tim
  19. WOW Bryan.....I would think that you would be happy just having a driveable car!!!! Are you sure that you really want to start squeezing evry ounce of power out of your daily driver?.....just wondering
  20. A friend of the family has one. They are even more exceptional up close!! But....he spent more on the first service than I have have in my Z!! Fuel tank has to be replaced with every 5000 mile service!! It's carbon fiber!! No thanks!!
  21. Little out of your budget range, but really worth a consideration!! http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=27844&highlight= Tim
