  1. Exactly...and not to hammer this any more than it has been, but this post will just add to that sifting effort.Tim
  2. I agree with the above. It's really refreshing to see a no-nonsense, weasy to read and navigate and uncluttered web site....KUDOS!! Tim
  3. Yes...please go here: http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/portal.php and type LS1 in the box on the left and press enter. Then read away.
  4. Mudge last posted on the 28th of October, so it hasn't been that long. Tim
  5. Yeah, instead of a rental mustang Tim
  6. Scott....Hope you plan to make it down for the MSA show again. I think a trip to Hooters is in order

guess I'm the black sheep here. Although I don't esp. like making humdrum cars look like supercars, the car is unique, and with some subtle changes could be made to look nice. I think that car with a V8, and nice paint scheme would be quite a show stopper....at least from a pure uniqueness standpoint. Someone put a LOT of work into that thing.
  8. Topic moved from the for sale forum.
  9. In a recent link posted by Grumpy on how to remove the injectors on the LT1, the site said that the injectors were being replaced with LS1 injectors. I assume then that this is a direct swap, but what is the flow rating on the LS1 injectors? I bet a set of good used LS1 injectors from ebay or such would be a lot cheaper than the aftermarket. This would work if the LS1 injectors are 'bigger' than the LT1 injectors? Tim
  10. Try a search. This topic has been discussed more times than I have kept track of. Comes down to mounting the LS1 which has not off the shelf kits like the LT1.
  11. http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Datsun_Z_V-8.html Well worth the $30. Tim
  12. Yeah, I agree with more cam. With such a light car, you can stand to lose some bottom end torque as a tradeoff to get some top end power. 2000 rpm is pretty low for a torque peak, esp. in a little ol' car like a Z. Tim
  13. If you are planning on a strip only car, then why not get a PowerGlide?
  14. If it has the circular air filter on the top of the engine, than it's not a LT1, or LS1. You have a carburetted engine (or maybe throttle body injection). The guy you bought it from is either very misinformed, or is feeding you a long line of Bull. If the distributor is within 2 inches of the firewall, then it's a JTR, if the sits high and forward, then it's a SCARAB. Tim

Yeah, you should be able to find plenty of info if you search. I have the 16 gal summit cell. Pics on the link below.
  16. Thanks guys, but that universal one that you guys are referring to will interfere with my nice leather shifter cover. I need something that will lay kinda flat for the inner boot. I'll have a look at the ZX one too. I might just have to take the rubber one out of my Z28 to see if it will do the trick then just buy one from GM. Tim
  17. For you guys using the T-56, what are you using to seal the hole in the tunnel where the shifter goes through? The stock Datsun boot doesn't have enough flexibility to take all the travel of the shifter...I've tried it upside down, back-to-front, inside out etc (literally), but no dice. I had a look at the one in my Z28 (1994), and it looks like it may do the trick. Any suggestions? I have a leather boot for the shifter installed, but that will do little to cut sound and air (hot and cold).
  18. Well...I guess I have graduated to the "Definitely next year" club After almost 5 years of this, I think that I have paid all my dues to the maybe next year club! Tim
  19. Lots of different size cardboard boxes and ziplock baggies. Strip one section of the car at a time, fill the box and baggies while marking the contents with a sharpie. I have also found that some plastic containers (cheap at the grocery store) with lids for different size/pitch nuts and bolts works well. I found that the 5lb fruit trays from Costco (or whichever warehouse club store in your area) works really nicely for nuts and bolts. They are strong, have lids, stack perfectly and have 5 or 6 dividers.
  20. Yeah, I bet it's halon....most like REQUIRED by the insurance company!!
