  1. To check if the sensor is working, just ground the signal wire. If the gauge is working the needle will climb and peg at max oil pressure. Then you know it's the sendor. If the gauge doesn't move, then it's the gauge, or the wire going to the gauge. Tim
  2. I have a 2.4 long block...it's yours if you want to pay for shipping. Tim
  3. Hmmm maybe it was Mike Gibson then? Crap it's been so long now.... Tim
  4. Ross, I bought my kit from you...I can't remember the length, but you are likely correct...probably 10inch springs and 4 inch sleeves. Pete...sorry if my responses caused any confusion. Tim
  5. Holy crap Juan....25 year difference between you and your sister!!! I assume she was not quite in the long term planning process Tim
  6. Warren, In your first example, I assume that you mean a 'New' car. If so, regulations (at least in CA) are in place that requires the manufacturer to warranty (in entirety) the emissions control equipment on cars for 5 years (I think). In that case you will need the dealership to do the work. As for the key/transponder issue. Would the vehicle security not be in question if every Tom, Dick and Harry had access to the reprogramming devices? I'm torn on this topic. It's just like presciption drugs....the aftermarket (or generic manufacturers) have to wait 5 years or so before they can duplicate the drugs so that the OEM company can have time to recoup their R&D costs. I don't think that it is fair to take that away...at least not totally. It may smother R&D and innovation by the Auto makers. AFAIK, the dealerships make the huge majority of their $$ on service, parts and accessories, not all that much on the selling of vehicles...... I am very anti government involment in free market and in peoples lives!! just my 2c.... Tim
  7. My question is: Why only 'Half' naked Tim
  8. No it's still the same configuration: Gas pedal at right foot, clutch at left foot, and brake inbetween. The only thing that realy changes is shifting with the left hand. Tim
  9. I think he's a network Admin or something? TIm
  10. Highly improbable that its sulphur. Not in CA!! CA spec diesel is even low sulphur (<5%). Tim
  11. 76 has stopped using MTBE and has switched to ethanol, but I can't see that making the color? Tim
  12. Pete, Maybe you can clamp something in place (a exhaust U-bolt, or something along those lines. My car with 245/50-16s on it has about a 2.5 inch gap between the wheel arch and the tire. I want about 1.5 or so. I have no idea what stock is. Also, just as a caveat, I have no glass installed and some interior is still not in, but even if I get in the car, it makes little difference, so I doubt the door and hatch glass will. BTW, I'm running 225lb in the rear and 200lb springs up front. Tim
  13. Pete, I used the existing weld on the strut tube (the weld that held the oem spring saddle in place) to rest my sleeve on. I need to grind that weld down and weld on a support about 3 inches lower. At the moment my adjustment is at the bottom and the car still sits about 1-1.5 inches too high, so lowering the sleeve 3 inches should put the adjuster right in the middle of the sleeve. HTH. Tim
  14. U lucky bastard!!! I wanted that car bad (as you probably know since everytime it came up for sale we both dived in with both feet...I'm just geographically challenged, otherwise it WOULD be in my garage!!) Good luck. Tim
  15. I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Summit. I have always had good shipping time, but am also VERY impressed with the on the phone service. It is friendly, courteous, and very efficient. I usually just do the on-line ordering, but this time I had to ge part numbers for stuff not listed in the catalogue. Wonderful service and a pleasure to do business with. Hard to find these days, especially with companies that do the kind of volume that Summit does.!!! Tim
  16. It is what it is: http://www.bordergatewayprotocol.net/~jon/humor/web_animations/may02-smilepop-soapbox4.swf BTW...there is sound. Tim
  17. Too many pussies in the room!! ha ha ha ha Tim
  18. Steve' date=' It's not actually my Dad's. It belongs to a long time family friend who now resides in Canada somewhere. He flew my Dad out from S.Africa to drive it because he has driven the car many times before and he completely spanked the competition in all 3 heats!! It's definitely a cool car!! 19. Hey Mike...My B.day is Nov 5th (Guy Fawkes day for you British Colonial guys). I'm asking for a new G-Tech pro!! Tim
  20. I think those guys were a bit hard on him.... OK, so he thinks the Z is a fairy car, and he drives a 'souped up' base neon, but hell, in his eyes the Z looks that way, and he seems to be able to defend his position. Obviously I don't agree with him, but there are cars that I see and there is an autoassociation as a 'girly car'.....like the fierros, VW rabbit cabriolets etc. Now I bet if I said as much to a Hetro-male fierro driver, he would have the same reaction as you did. Oh well it takes all sorts...Viva la Z!! Tim
  21. Looks SWEET Joe!!! Just color sand out the junk that got in the paint, and remove the runs with a little stone thingy (forget the name, but it is a little stone file). Then buff out with a polisher. I'm at the exact same point as you. I thought that my car looked absolutley bitchin, until I color sanded and buffed a 1/4 panel. WOW...the rest of the car looks like crap in comparison!! Tim
