  1. Looking on GMpartsdirect.com, it seems either this one of the master slave kit. I went back as far as 1988. Maybe I'll just stop in tot he local dealership after PEP boys tells me they don't carry it Tim
  2. Thank you Mike!! Mike...Is this what you are using?: Ohhh Daaaannnn? Tim[/img]
  3. Mike, that's what I've been waiting for!!! Can you tell me more. Is it direct bolt in? What vehicle should I use for ordering purposes? Thanks, Mike
  4. I think people expect too much from MSA. People gotta remember, they are 1 of 2 major Z part distributors, so they are B-U-S-Y. Dont be offended if they dont have time to chat, if they have a hurried attitude, if they dont give you the service you get from a Hooters girl. They just dont have time for it. They have always had what i needed. That is completely irrelevant!! If the consumer is giving them business and giving them their hard earned $$$, the least they can do is be curteous!! I can understand if they are short on stock from time to time....it's a good way to do business (keeping the stock on shelves low), but at least have the common decency to be patient, curteous and HONEST about the time to get stock!!! In this country SERVICE is the main product and without it, it leaves the consumer thinking that they got ripped!!! Just my 2c worth. Tim
  5. Oh hell...with a Z, a carb'ed 350 should be getting you at least 15+mpg. My 3/4 ton 71 Cheyenne with a 750 double pumper and mildly built engine gets me 10-12 MPGs in a fair state of tune! Tim
  6. hmmmm....I think that you are one of the lucky ones!! I recently purchased something that was advertised in their sales flyer. When I received it, it was more than $15 more than advertised (for a ~$60 part). Called them and they said..."well the prices have gone up..." I will admit that the parts arrived in decent time and intact. After 4 or 5 deals with MSA all have had some type of issue.... Tim
  7. Dan, If my slave was known to be good, then, yes that would be a great solution, but if I need to buy a new oem one, then I believe that they are only available as a kit with the master etc....seems like a huge waste of $$$ if there is an aftermarket solution. Tim
  8. Thanks....I gave them a call, and they were of absolutely no help...blueoval stuff only....as soon as I mentioned bowtie, that was the end.....Maybe someone in the sandiego area has a t56 slave that they can drop by their shop with to see if anything they have will work? Tim

If it's the original, then it's a R180. There is a picture on my site (below) of a R180 next to a R230. You can at least look to see if it's the same as the r180. Tim
  10. The coilover conversion does not change the mounting points of the suspension. Do a quick search and I'm sure that your questions will be answered. Tim
  11. I editted your post to correct the images. What you need to do to post images is: click on the 'img' button paste the url click on the 'close tag' button do that sequence for each picture. Tim
  12. I could not find an answer searching the archives (didn't go back to the beginning of time though). Is there an aftermarket solution for the t56 slave cylinder, that does not involve the oem rollpin attachment? I think that I am going to need a new slave (mine has been sitting on the shelf for 3 years now and I don't want to mess with modifying it if I can get something new that doesn't involve buying a master and slave unit from GM). Thanks, Tim
  13. Email them to me....or just use Yahoo photos, or imagestation, or any number of hosting sites, but I can get them up asap for you. Tim thepburn@semprautilities.com
  14. Guys, Can I get a final rollcall? Confirmed so far: John Coffey Bang (and those above). If you are planning to come, and not listed in the last couple of posts here, please let me know so I can have a good number to get supplies for... (BTW...there will be a couple of very pleasant items to see before the general HybridZ membership gets to see them)!! Tim
  15. Some on my site (link below). It's just a S&W 8 point kit, slightly modified. Tim
  16. Yeah I saw it...just about to imbark on a house remodel...no space for another project right now... Thanks for the HU though Tim
  17. I have just finished with the color sanding, buffing and hand rubbing the Z. It has taken me: 2 days of wet sanding (1000grit, then 1500 grit) 1 day of machine buffing with two pads and two compounds 1/2 day of hand rubbing with finishing compound. I have finally come to the end of the bodywork era of my project....the end of 2 years of bodywork...welding, grinding stripping, filling, sanding, sanding, sanding, primering, sanding, filling, sanding, sanding and more sanding!! I can finally say goodbye to my body supplies as I pack them away!! 8) 8) 8) The car has come out more stunning than even I could have hoped, especially considering this is my firsy bodywork project. I will post some pics as soon as we see the sun again, as soon as ash and crap stops falling from the atmosphere....damn inconsiderate wild fires!! Tim
  18. Ya know...if you want to live in a flood plain.....expect to get flooded, if you want to live in hurricane country....expect to get blown around.....if you want to live in amongst dry trees and brush in CA, expect to get burned....I don't think that there is one place on this Earth that there isn't a safe place . I'm glad I live near the coast....all I have to worry about is the next big quake! That is a very cool picture from above!! Check out the thermal infrared: Tim
  19. DO NOT buy from showcars-bodyparts!! Tim
  20. If you want the final product (post primer) to look anything close to decent, you'll need a hell of a lot more than a weekend to get it in primer. I have spent almost 3 years of my project just on bodywork, and the last 6 months just getting the primer stage perfect. When it comes to bodywork time, take your most conservative estimate and quadruple it (or more)!!! And that is no exageration. If all you want to do is cover the car so that it is all one color (and no other bodywork!!), figure on 3 or four weekends. Hell it will take at least 1 full day just to take off some misc. parts (marker lights etc) and mask and tape everything up. If you have some experience with type of work (my assumption is not), then working 2 x 12 hour days, it may be possible. On the other hand.... as was stated above, leaving a car in primer (esp. the rust prone Z) is asking for trouble. Tim
  21. Ed, I was going after that same effect until the cons began to outweigh the pros. Like was mentioned above, repair is almost impossible. Several stages require many days in the paint booth ($$$$). I spent months talking back and forth with my neighbor (bodyman and who eventually painted my car), and MY decision was to abandon the idea....lots of $$$, lots of time...and no way to repair a panel without redoing the whole car....lots of $$$, lots of time etc. Tim
  22. Sweet mama!!! That nasty!! Bet they didn't feel a thing!! Tim
  23. Sounds like a great excuse to get a fiberglass hood Sorry for the bad luck... Tim
