I have FINALLY finished my cage. In reading the previous post (how to build a cage), I must admit that buying the complete kit from S&W was probably a waste. The only thing that remained 'as delivered' was the main hoop. EVERYTHING else had to be modified, customized. Certainly this could be specific to my case, but the rest of the cage was not difficult to do from scratch. I would think that for the 2+2 if you could order just the hoop from S&W, and get the rest of the tubing locally, you would be set.
I did all the cutting and shaping with my little 4" grinder (with a cutting disk obviously). If you have, or have access to, a bench mounted cutoff wheel and a tubing cutter, you could do the cage in about 1/4 of the time it took me. Getting nice straight angled cuts and round tube butt cuts are very time consuming without these tools, but obviously very possible.
But man, I am so stoked to have my cage in
