  1. Here is my latest HID retrofit. I'm using a pair of Acura TL Bi Xenon projectors, mounted inside the Z headlight can. As you can see, this pair is a lot more compact, and took only minimum trimming of the headlight can, compared to the BMW projectors pictured in the above posts. I bought a pair of spun alum headlight covers, had them powder coated black, then had a 3" hole bore in the center, for the projector lens to protrude. I also bought a clear plastic headlight rock guard cover set from Black Dragon, to install over the finished headlight to protect against pebbles/bugs etc. I'll take some pics once I get a chance to pull the ones in the car now, and replace them with these... click-em
  2. Don't forget, your not blocking off the regular way the oil drains out of the back of the head with this mod... your only adding another route to the pan. When you put this fitting in the welch plug, you are not stopping the oil from draining out the factory drain area. Its win win in my book!
  3. Thanks Raff... I just ordered one too. Me Too.... I hope it isn't this one we need> http://www2.northerntool.com/product/200356552.htm
  4. Give it a while... some one will pi$$ me off again... I still have it saved.
  5. I haven't paid much attention to the front air dam area on the 79-89 models, so none of those years had the turn sig under the bumper?
  6. This front spoiler is being advertised as going on a 280z 79-83. That in itself is incorrect info. It sure looks like a 70-74 air dam to me... what do you think? click-em
  7. I think you may have taken what he said the wrong way... What I understand him to be saying is: Wow, after all this time waiting to get this part, look what happens... unbelievable... Am I wrong?
  8. I sold two items today. One buyer chose to use PP over sending a money order, the other chose to send me a money order. Both were advised at the begining what the total would be, either way. I buy tons off ebay. Rarely do I get asked to pay PP fees, because their not suppose to ask for it, but I'm confident I'm paying them, I just wasn't told I was. 99% of the things I've sold, I never asked to be compensated for eBay taking 3% of my sale price out, so the buyer could use paypal. I guess its best to just figure that into the selling price and don't mention it. It looks better to everyone that way. I figure if I'm giving a great price to begin with, why should I absorb that fee myself. That would have amounted close to $40 today I did not make on the sale. Maybe I'm wrong??
  9. Awesome! nice and clean. I like the color too...
  10. You can not delete posts on this forum. You can edit the content, but only up to 24hrs after you post it. The other info is basic stuff that can be found by searching the archives. The bumper swap depends on your ability to mix and match things, and possibly make/modify brackets. The 70 to early 74 bumpers can be swapped fairly easy, with some fab skills, but the later models are a bit more difficult... Good luck with it, and start searching thru our vast past threads on this subject. I'm sure you will find the info that will guide you thru the swap. Most here will be glad to chime in and help out, after you've searched for the info first yourself...
  11. I wonder why he's advertising 4 wheel disc brakes, when I see rear drums in the pics? Am I missing something?
  12. I have plenty of those fittings and I would recommend this set out of all shown... You will run into certain spots where you will only be able to tighten with a angled wrench, trust me... I have that set (not pretty anodized though).
  13. Join up over here. The actual Electromotive engineers post on that site.. http://www.electromotivegroup.com/
  14. That looks really nice!! You have a great looking ZX, and you deserve the props...
  15. Yea I remember when I brought my Z to his house to drop off for him to build my manifolds and stuff, he took me for a ride in it with the glide... it was pretty impressive.
  16. I'm pretty sure James Thagard was using the Starion trans behind his TT L28
  17. Great job Streeteg.. car looks/sounds awesome!!!
  18. Looks/sounds wicked... I think you'll be happy with it. Do get some track vids too...
  19. Maybe in a few more years these 4.8l twin cam I6's will be hitting the junk yards in Aus, and then can be attained as the rb30 is now.. I'd like to see how the motor looks w/o that hunk of plastic covering it up. Also, I wonder if the manual 5 spd for it resembles the rb25det type trans. That would make for a nice beefy replacement..
  20. I have a very early R32 block that I used. I had heard that the early ones are the best to use, compared to the later. I chose to pull the early short oil drive crank out of it and replace it with a R33 long drive. Short of having the RRR race block, I think using a seasoned R32 block is the best option for me. With Carrillo's, JE's, ARP's, and a Jun oil pump, its pretty stout...
  21. +1 ^^ I have a good feeling, you will accomplish your goal this time around... Just be sure and get some good vid of it wanting to jump off the dyno. GL
