Glad you guys loved the pics. Its true car bliss...the cars down there are fantastic! Here area few more taken at the local drag strip which is an old American Runway built during WW2...Drag racing is huge there and gets you lots of bragging rights...illegal street racing is big too at night. Beautiful RX2 - one of the prettiest cars ever built from Japan, this one was recently restored and running a Street Ported 13B: Pure L Powered Hybrid....early '80s Datsun 120Y..with a Diesel Crank and 4Barrel Carb...running 12s, note the rear wheel wells opened up: Here is the same L Powered 120Y launching against one of the only surviving S30cars on the island... and the pic below that is a slammed Datsun 280C L28 powered (Cedric): Another L Series Hybrid...this time in a rare Mark 1 British Ford Escort..lots of Nitrous and a 4 barrel takes this car into the low 12s: A siiick Hybrid...a SR20DET powered Suzuki Jimmy (SJ410)..easy 13s: Two sweet RHD JDM FC3S lining up and a genuine JDM ITR and S13 (SR20DET) that ran into the 11s: A beautiful EP Starlet Turbo hanging out with a EVO6: A neat Laurel (notice no "B" post...typical of the top of the range Japanese Saloons). it needs some proper deep lip wheels though and an RB!: Regards - Yasin

Some rare birds that I came across on my trip: Full AMG 500SLC What happens when the Benz / Bosch EFI craps out...weld up the EFI manifold and fit a stupid 36mm Weber on there!! This car ran terribly (surprise...surprise), as the Weber was drastically undersized for the 5.0L and the mechanic was trying to use the factory high pressure Bosch fuel pump - disaster. '80s XJ6 - fully running: All Original (even down to all the glass) Vauxhall Velox (straight Six) - fully running, note RWD Mazda 323 Gen1 next to it: MG - restored and fully running and has twin SUs: Beautiful New AMG Carlsson E Class: A Brand New Phantom - the only one on the island - stunning! I even witnessed this accident, the three guys in the car, crawled out with ONLY cuts and bruises - how I do not know! The windshield slid 50feet from the car. A rare car..its like a 4door Coupe and its a Toyota Ceres powered by the 20V 4AG engine and Datsun Bluebird to the left: Slammmmmed Lancer, next to it is a Nissan March: Rice is a global thing! A beautiful Mk1 Escort: Brand new Suzuki Swift (very Mini Cooper-ish):

The Euro stuff... Rare old Renault Station wagon..note three bolt wheels: This is probably the largest Porsche Collection in the entire Caribbean...here are some pics... 1982 Turbo: These rare Gottis were originally were on the Turbo but the owner converted the car back to Fuchs, sadly the Gottis are just deteriorating as he does not care for them: His Targa and SC: The Targa got a fully rebuilt engine for Christmas: Here was an interesting find. It was bought brand new in 196? by an English Professor who emmigrated to Trinidad and took the car with him. When the Professor died many years ago, his wife, left the car outside to the elements and it naturally deteriorated. It was in great condition when the old guy was alive (mechanically, body etc), when it was bought it is in the condition you see in my pics. It is literally riddled with rust and will require a new floor and full structural strengthening, think lots of WELDING, fabrication and restoration - big$$. The car caught on fire as it was being towed home as the rear brake calipers were seized and the friction started the fire, luckily they were following behind and were able to quickly put out the fire. The car refused to start, but after a few weekend rebuilding the carbs...it actually fired up but belched LOADS of smoke... A great Barnyard find especially for a small Caribbean island.. So what does an actual Porsche dealership look like in a small Caribbean look like? Opened only 1 year ago and 18cars sold in one year - which is not bad (only Caymans, Boxsters and Cayennes V6 only) - no 911s sold at all. And yes the dealership is shared with Suzuki and Chrysler / Jeep...LOL. A Cayman S sells for $200K US, because of the ridiculous local importation taxes - Cripes!! Look Left: Look Right:

More at the JDM dismantlers.... Genuine complete running STi half cut: Another one with a Nardi wheel: Former STi drag car getting a large front mount fitted: STi back half: A rare Toyota Starlet EP71 Turbo Running half cut, with only 57K miles!: Another Starlet Turbo half cut: An unfortunate victim of neglect...a rotting AE86 Corolla, nite the Enkei 92s in front: A VR4 Galant: You should have heard this FD as it blew past me!...sweet! Another oldie and goldie Datsun 120Y: Datsun Bluebird Stationwagon Clean old JDM Cressida with a 5ME (2.8L SOHC motor) Nice and clean, lowered old Sentra (or Sunny): Mazda 323F: Rare 20V Toyota Levin Wagon: An SR20DET Sentra - wicked!: A pair of beautiful newer Mazda 323s: Coool: Toyota Crown 7MGE Royal Saloon (former Flagship car for Toyota):

The roads are rulled by EVOs and Stis, and these Japanese Spec cars are wicked fast and many of them have been modified to run low 11s and some have done 10s in the 1/4: Recently imported VII from Japan: A very rare GT-A spec with Aquamist water injection: A Genuine R33 GTR Nissan Skyline, owner buying some fresh mangoes from a roadside vendor: Pulsar GTi-R A ricey Sentra but with full SR20DET swap: Another one:

Happy New Years Guys! I have been on vacation for the past couple of weeks in beautiful Trinidad and Tobago (most southerly island in the Caribbean). Which is why I have been missing in action. Its an island of just over 1million people and only 2000sq.miles The island is an absolute Car Lover's dream, there are some ultra cool cars that find there way down there...from Japan to Europe to the US. I could have taken 1000 pictures easily to share with you. As Trinidad is a former colony of England, everyone drives on the Right. Ok Enough Talking...Enjoy...Yasin! Pure YUM - NEO Baybeee! Low mileage 1JZ, complete with tranny and EFI harness and ECU: Need and engine?? Audi/BMW noses are from Japanese imported cars that were dismanted in Japan: Complete EVO 4 subframe, suspension, motor and trans: Rare 20V Quad throttle Body Toyota 4AGE engines: Lots of L series diesels for sale: The only turbo L28 I came across on my travels: These MR2, Altezza (IS200) and Mitsu 3000GT (note Benz S500 next to it) were imported as full running cars for local Customers: Note the Beams 4cylinder 3SGE 200hp engine in the Altezza not the 2JZ that we got in the US

How about a later 300ZX Turbo (Z31) or a Supra (3rd Gen) - 7MGTE....very quick, fun , relaxing cars and lots of room in there too. You could buy a nice one for $5K, and have lots of pennies left over to put a sweet exhaust, turbo uprade, intercooler upgrade, supension upgrades, still pass emissions and have ice cold AC!!! Yasin -
I always wanted a 5speed Coupe ZX Turbo. I actually found one through a good friend, belonged to a wealthy banker and had been sitting very neglected in an alley in Denver. I bought it in March 2001, creeping up on 6years. I paid $2750 for it. Looked like this when I bought it: and now..don't ask how much I have spent (and its not over!) Yasin

So you don't like AZ? Too hot? You accounted for 6weeks, what about the other 46weeks in the year? Just for you Rob: Small turbo upgrade..wink: Intercooler upgrade: Yasin Yasin

Looks good to me...price is good too. He has 100% feedback too. The driver's door has a crease in it at the top that is VERY repairable. Yasin

Bad News for my Motor, internal damage :(
slownrusty replied to 240hoke's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Austin - Man...I am sorry to hear about the damage...I feel for you bro, I think quite a few of us have been down this road and it sucks! One thing that puzzles me, if the damage was caused by something foreign, why are all the damage marks exactly the same size shape, you think if it was slag, it would get more and more irregular as it was getting pounded up inside the engine? From your pics it looks like it bounced up and down 30+ times, wouldn't it slowly disintegrate as it kept bouncing? JeffP - can you tell us more about these bearings that Dave is recommending, and price? I am rebuilding my L right now and will be ordering Clevites but can hold off. I am subscibing as there is some very interest content being shared. Austin - when you turned up your timing at SEZ, what kind of AFR were you registering out of curiousity? Makes you woner if you should have dedicated gauge and reading on number 5 and 6? Hang in there, you have the right attitude! Regards - Yasin -
Sho - Where are you located..you avatar says AZ!!! Rob...the Z's big brother in the garage - thanks!: Yasin

Bro - The Z is here where it has not moved since July!...living the pampered life...LOL Yasin

I had a little chuckle over it....but admittingly when the the guy who started the thread said that he has been teased about being hariy since puberty it was not really all that funny. I guess its always funny when its at someone else's expense. Notice in the 7 or 8 pages of that thread there are only three posts by the person who started it. I bet he is feeling this small --><-- and very conscious after his supposed 350Z brethren had a good laugh at his expense. Here is the actual thread: http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=208462 Yasin

Taken outside my home this morning...still recovering from last week's bruiser and I measured 9.5" of accumulation this morning! Some parts of town got way more than 12" Looking west at Cheyenne Mountain: My neighbor's great ole skool Volvo 244: Heading off to work in 180+hp of turbocharged FWD fun: Regards! Yasin

I wholeheartedly agree with Tim's comments. I am heading down this same road right now, stroker crank (LD28), 240Z-9mm rods and custom JE Pistons with Swain coatings. All my measurements and machine work is being done by a very competant machine shop and they are ordering the pistons after their measurements and checking. Yasin

Gavin - I had issues with the Corbeau seat brakcets lining up VERY poorly on my car (2 out of the 4 holes would line up). Their brackets are actually not made by them and made (sub-contracted) to another shop in California, that then stamp Corbeau's name on the brackets once they are complete fabricating them. I was extremely disappointed with the fitment, especially after the price I paid, and then the considerable time I had to take to make them fit. I actually called them and wailed on them for quite a while and the only thing they offered me was an apology and "that they would look into it" and if I wanted I could send the old brackets back and they would re-send me a new pair, which was stupid as I already had modified them to fit my car and I had the seats alreadt bolted in. They then offered me either 10% or 15% on my next offer - which was also stupid, as I did not need any more seats or rails or seat products...! I was disappointed, even though I do love their seats.
