Fuel pressure is a consitant 36 PSI? I installed a permenant gauge in my 78 fuel line after the fuel filter. Mine did the same thing as your describing. I still haven't got it fixed yet but I know that is one problem. Also check the plug for the tempature sensor. The 78 has the two prong. Not sure what the 77 is. Mine was bad as well. I would work through the harness test outlined in the FSM. It is very easy and informative. So this is a cold start symptom only or just when you first start it? How is it once warmed up?

I've got one I'll sell for $70 plus shipping. Shipping from Orlando should'nt be too much. I'm with you. I'm starting to hoard parts. I keep screwing myself by selling my extras.

Oh gosh, 3 extra is a bit much. One extra is okay. Maybe 2 if it gets torn up often! The Garage is mine as long as she can park inside.

I have a 2g myself. My buddy stopped by with the new 4G and the speed was amazingly faster. When I started my search, I compared the 2g, 3g and 3gs. I wasn't impressed with the 3gs speed at all and saw little difference between the 2g and 3g so I went with the cheapest, 2g. With re-sale, I bought a 2g from a buddy for $25 and gave it to my wife. She had it 2 days and killed the screen glass. Bought another on Craiglist for $100 in mint condition. I listed the broken one on craigslist for $100. Had someone call me and asked if I would deliver it for $150! I was like of course! 20 minute driver later I had $150 in my hand! I asked why he said all the iphones on craigslist he called on kept getting sold. I was like okay. He smelled of marijuana though so who knows.

I had a Huffy too. Always dreamed of a real nice Red Line back in the day. We get around the neighborhood on a golf cart. No more getting winded!

To bad the admins live so far apart. It would be for them. My idea is to take a car, break it (non-running) and see who can determine what is wrong and then fix it the fastest. Water in the tank, fowled plugs and timing driving gear off a few teeth would be fun!

Juan, your car has been sitting for a long time yes? Did you replace the firewall cylinder as well? Those will go bad from sitting too. First, I would remove the slave, remove the outer rubber boot and the bolt/ pin (Clutch Rod) that pushes on the fork. It will likely come out as one piece when you remove the rubber boot. Gently push the piston in with a small screw driver. It should move fairly freely in and out. There is nothing to the slave clyninder. Should be a piston w/ a rubber seal and a spring and that is it. I've got an extra one. $85 plus shipping. I have either intake or Exhaust as well. The above is for the exhaust.

If nothing comes out at all I would remove the entire slave and pump the pedal a little to see if any fluid is flowing to the slave.

So when you open the slave bleeder valve do you get fluid to drip out? What if you open it and gently pump the pedal once or 1/2 way. Don't want to force all the fluid out. If no fluid is coming out, I'd assume the piston is siezed in the body.

What do mean the slave cylinder is coming out? Pushing against the fork or the little piston us falling out.

I couldn't figure out why ebay has so many "Datsun" listings. For the next two weeks (June 29th - July 12th) ebay is offering free insertion fees and no charges unless the item sells I believe. May not be anything new or any cheaper but then again who knows.

Funny, I haven't dove into my 78 but your inital symptoms are exactly the same. Starts right up idles great go to drive it and lots of poping, no power, etc. Interested on what you find out. Maybe it is a Jeff, Florida thing. As we both are Jeffs and both live in Florida.

Thanks, I picked one up locally. Got lucky, it was brand new and they even met me by my house! On a side note I really see why people keep there parts. There have been so many I've sold that I could really have used. Live and learn.
