Weber jets??All who live for their triples please read this
duragg replied to datfreak's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
I've been reading on some other forums that there are some modifications to the Progression Ports that some people do? I think they concluded that the 3 progression ports were not necessarily in the ideal location. Do some people add a 4th Progression Port? I think I also read about some modification to the emulsion tube. The idea was to help with the tip-in stumble that some have if I recall. My '73 240 / L24 / DCOE40 is nearly complete with rewire, sitting 2 years and need to rebuild the carbs again I suspect. It ran pretty good before so maybe I won't F* with it quite yet... Just pump some clean fuel through for now. -
Ok, sorry for the delay. I had to reconfigure the tail light logic and have all the lights wired along with ignition. On a boondoggle over the weekend I mooched a ton of cool switches from an aircraft parts depot. Will get back to work on this shortly this week.

Sounds like I got some figuring to do when I get to the turn stalk. My harness also has a 3rd brake lite wire that I could use if things get too hairy. I am only using some of the stock electronics like the turn signal switch. Remainder will be race car toggle switches. Any clues or recollections like you have offered are greatly helpful. Tj

I am re-wiring my 1973 240z. On the factory wire schematic it shows the Turn Signals and Stop Lights are the same wire - same lights? Trying to figure out how I will adapt this to my new universal wire harness. If I read things right, the T/S wire is the same wire as the Brake lights (just that both come on). Or am I missing something? Tj

I will probably do that tomorrow night. It will be frighteningly stock... Plus a Wideband.

I have Triple DCOE 40s in my 240 with a stock L24. I had them running pretty good a while back, now rebuilding the car. Tell me about your Wideband setup? Somewhere after the headers? What AFRs do you see from idle and at various locations? I put a Wideband on my old Mercedes and made tuning a SNAP!. I was planning one for this car too. TJ

My 1973 240 is being converted to a Rat-Z Racer. Custom panel, mocked it up in Cardboard today. Suggestions always welcome.

I just ripped my heater core, fan, hose, etc from my 1973 240 yesterday. It is becoming a spartan race car. Email me as a reminder and I will weight it for you (its sitting on my office floor) You could cut out all the internals to lighten it and then remount it... I'm chucking it in the dumpster tomorrow so don't let me forget. Tj

Can most of the bucket type racing seats be made to fit the 240 with some modifications to the frame? I am ditching stock seats in favor of fancy buckets, but not sure which are too wide, or too tall or if most any can fit. Tj 1973 240z

More progress. Fun to look back at all the pictures which are on the Desert Z Association site. http://www.desertzassociation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=5166#5166

Z truth is: Progress has been slow. But from the start this was a 3 year project ...with a 5 year extension. It all started here: http://www.desertzassociation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=759 Basic metal was made whole again (Soda blast and rust removal) Camber plates installed. Frame strenghtening rails and stitch welding. Cut out spare tire bin for new fuel tank. 2008 = Seam sealing and friggan unbelievably expensive primer (wholy crap!) I am basically done for this year financially on the project. Will probably do little things like stainless steel hydraulic lines, and the Painless wiring kit. That should keep me busy a year or so with minimal investment. I have picked out a cam for my LS2,.... it is about 18" tall with LSA of about half a turn and wont idle below 3500rpm.. . Arizona has this cool law that if you promise not to drive a vintage car TOO much you don't need emissions. ... really I promise its a museum piece... God Bless America. Tj

I think the guy that makes them says they are an inch or two wider. My stock sheetmetal was a little cruncy in that area so using these flares accomplished a few goals at once. They retain the stock feel, but make room for big stickys. Tj

Been a while since I have done an update here on Hybridz. Restoring a 1972 240Z ground up. Replaced floorboards and strengthened frame. Planning an LS2 / T56 (ls7??). Long way to go. Full log from start to now: http://www.desertzassociation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=759&start=30 BODY WORK QUESTION: I know I am going to do a simple clean rear bumper that I will make myself. I have a good image in my mind of what I want to do there. The front, I have no idea. I want a simple, clean look, not boy-racer. Needs to look menacing and functional. Any ideas?

Ferrea Components for LS2 240Z
duragg replied to duragg's topic in Gen III & IV Chevy V8Z Tech Board
THanks, It was worth a try before I throw them on Ebay. Tj -
My 240 project with the LS2 has a long ways to go. But... I happen to have a set 18 of Ferrea S10006 Valve springs and 18 E11076 Titanuim retainers. Specs: S10006 Valve Springs, Dual with Damper 1430 135/285 E11076 Ti Retainers 10deg ALL 1440 x 1065 x .7 Dbl Spring I was going to use these on a 9 cylinder engine project (hence 18), but since discovered they won't work. My question for an engine person... could I use these in the future on my LS2 or are they totally wrong size? Before I return or sell them (a hassle), I wondered if I can use them later. Tj

camber Plates where to buy them?
duragg replied to jtmny1999's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension, and Chassis
$185 seems expensive? I don't remember paying anywhere near that for the plates from Arizona Zcar. TJ -
I was interested in the Stainless Steel brake lines. My Z is on a rotisserie right now, disassembled. I have all the hard brake lines on a shelf and am glad to donate them if it helps to get masters of the brake lines. What is the status of that project?? TJ

I think it will work out ok. When they are bonded on I plan to shoot "line-X" or Inyati or similar as underbody coating and try to get it into all the voids. I've only done one. I am very itchy....
