  1. That dash mounted Timex clock is classic!
  2. Yep. If you've done all of that, I think Tim is right. The MC is the most obvious culprit. ...or, it could still be the demons
  3. 2.5"? That's pretty small for taillights. Weren't the old Vette lights more than twice that diameter? I was looking for the same thing. Last year I picked up a set of '70 Camaro taillight housings at a swap meet. They have lenses with the white centers, but they are around 6" in diameter. The size would work on my VR project, but the style isn't quite right. How about mid '80's Corvette taillights? They don't have the white centers, but they should be plentiful in the wrecking yards.
  4. Demons. Definitely. By gravity bleed, you mean just opening up the bleeders and fluid flows 'unassisted'? If that's the case there is obviously some kind of air breach that could be at the master cylinder or anywhere in the line to the rear brakes. I could be bad brake cylinder(s) too. Have you been underneath and inspected the lines all the way from the master?
  5. Those are some truly ugly rides. However, my money is on Aux. He finds the most bizzare $h!t ...
  6. I'm kinda partial to the port-a-potty seats. I'll save time on those long road trips.
  7. Truly mental giants! I was sure he'd try to come off the trailer and end-up high centering on the ramps. Sheeeeiit! Cletus. Let's jest jamb yer ol' jack uder the front uv the car and git her level. Then ya can jest throw her in reverse and suck that ol' trailer right under the car. Pure genius I tells ya!"
  8. Thanks for the encouragement guys! z-REX - It outta be clean. Spent waayyy too much time completely stripping the entire underside to bare metal, repainting and undercoating. Not sure I'd eat off it, though. Ross - I think your observation is right on. I had intended to order a second set of adjusting nuts to use as jam nuts. I don't really like the set-screw setup. I forgot about that detail in my fervor to get these puppies installed. I guess I'm either gonna commit to trying it this way or, I'm going to have to partially disassemble these things... Fortunately, the coil-over setup is sooo much easier to R&R than the stock setup. JP - Great minds think alike: Good beer and great cars!
  9. What?! What is it? My eyes started burning and everything went black as the page came up. It's a good thing I can touch type... Damn, I think I just knocked over my beer...
  10. Terry - I'm using the Tokico Illumina 5-ways...
  11. I'm sure most of you guys already know about this, but today I made an amazing discovery: Actually, getting off my lazy, football watching butt and spending time in the garage contributes to making progress on the project! Wow! I had no idea... For quite some time now, I've been waiting for my magical little garage dwarf to get my Velo Rossa project done. However, the drunken little farking bastage hasn't made much headway. I finally got ticked-off at him and went out to the garage to beat him. I tripped over a pile of suspension parts during my search for the little freak and decided I'd try my hand at installing them myself. To make a long story short, this weekend I finished putting together my coil-over kits, installed all of my new urethane bushings and installed the suspension on the car. Then, I installed my Outlaw disk brake packages. If I'd known I could do all of this faster than than that inebriated runt of a dwarf, I would have spent more time in the garage before this... I've added quite a few pics to the gallery on my personal site. Here are a couple. Struts sectioned 1.5", coilover kits w/ 200lbs springs up front and 250lb springs in back, 5 lug hubs, 13" vented rotors in front and 11" solid rotors in the back, Outlaw aluminum 4 piston calipers... I got all of this done and went to the garage fridge to reward myself with a nice, tall beer. That freaking little dwarf made off with all of my Guiness. I'm gonna beat that lazy little midget when I find him.
  12. John is a great guy. He accomodated me by giving me an impromtu tour of his shop a few years ago when I was trying to decide which GTO kit to purchase. In the end, I purchased a VR kit because of John and the consistent comments about the quality of his product and his great customer service.
  13. I've never heard of Jack Marsh, but I had a link to the Z Specialties site in my bookmarks. Try calling Z Specialties in Snohomish, WA (206-363-3577) Here's a link to their site in case you don't have it: http://www.zspecialties.com/
  14. Maybe it's the "smile" that did it for my wife. My wife is NOT into sports cars or cars in general, but last night we were watching TV and some show was featuring the new 'Vette so, of course, I stopped channel surfing to check it out. Out of left field my wife says: "Wow, that is a really nice looking car!" Of course, I've zeroed-in on her response and am starting a subtle campaign to burn this car into her sub-conscience mind and convince her we HAVE to own one. I'll let you guys know how it goes... Although, I gotta disagree with you. I don't think it's smiling. I LIKE IT.
  15. Most likely it's the single quote (') at the beginning of your screen name. Try changing your screen name to 73TPIZ without the single quote and upload the pic again. If that doesn't work, you'll need to hitup the site admin for help.
  16. Echo that! Jeromio's site is one of the most visited sites on my bookmark list. Lot's of good write-ups and photos of various upgrades, installs, projects.
  17. Christopher - Do a search in the Body & Paint or Chassis forums on 'Welder' and you should find this topic covered several times. I bought a good MIG welder (Millermatic 135) and taught myself. Here are a couple of hits on a quick search: http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=23110&highlight=welder http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22035&highlight=welder http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7096&highlight=welder
  18. Dude! Schweeet! It's gotta feel great!! You've got a truly unique and beautiful Z. Congratulations on getting her on the road. Enjoy!!
  19. She's a Shiba Inu (Japanese Breed). She matches my son's hair. (unintentional )
  20. If I could do both projects, I would. But, if you can only do one and this IS HybridZ after all, go V8 and get creative. My opinion is only worth $.01
  21. My son got a Harley! ...and he's only 5 yrs. old! (O.k. It was a puppy, but it's name is Harley... )
  22. Oh, man was that funny! I watched that last night. I don't remember the name of the first guy, but he had me laughing so hard, my stomach was hurting.
  23. There have been discussions of this in the past. Basically, there isn't enough of a core group (on this site, anyway) to support a GTO/Ferrari replica forum on it's own. The Body & Paint forum is the best place on this site to discuss replica questions. John Washington is admistering the GTO Replica Registry. There isn't a lot of information on that site and there is no forum, but it does have links to some of the builder's websites. I would be interested in putting together a forum, but I'm not sure how much interest/traffic there would be.
