  1. Are you doing a turbo swap? Id personally pull most the driveline and keep it. Like you said including the brakes, etc. Im not sure if theyre any stronger but it would seem like it. They beefed up the clutch but anything other then that Im not sure. Ill look in my chiltons and see if theyres anything about this.
  2. Have you checked they're website? I saw quite a few there.
  3. Could I ask how much the paint was 280z28?
  4. Thats true, I meant "Better" gas mileage.
  5. Some of the Camaro and Firebirds have really high overdrives ( like .6:1 or something) that would keep the rpms down on the highway for good mileage.
  6. Thats a great color. WHat color is it. I have black FG bumpers and have been trying to find a good silver and I think that color would look great.
  7. Yeah those flares look really good. They dont stick out and look cheap like some. I also love the color. Is the Gnose all one piece along with the fenders?
  8. Im trying to sell a Nitro HPI RS4 Mt the body would look a little weird cause its a truck chassis but you could make it work.
  9. I looked in my chiltons and cant find anything about this but you should be able to go to Shucks and have them test it.
  10. Turbo to Exhaust manifold= 33-40 ft.lbs Exhaust manifold to engine=25-33 ft.lbs. for 10mm bolts or 11-18 ft.lbs. for 8mm bolts These are for 280zx turbos is that what you wanted?
  11. I dont know alot but if possible I'd try to watch the clutch while someone presses the pedal to see what is happening. If its not releasing enough mess with the linkage more or check the clutch to see if any parts are broken, you might be able to see if its a linkage problem or clutch issue by just feeling the pedal. If its stiff that might mean your feeling the pressure of the springs and the clutch is ok, if its soft it might be some other problem with the actual clutch. Hope you figure it out.
  12. The solution for the temp sensor sounds right. Have you checked all the conections to the dash and the engine speed sensor.. It might be a simple corroded wire. I dont have a zx so I cant help alot. Hope you find the problem.
  13. Glad to help. I think it doesnt show 240z rear lower quarters but he makes them. He makes most the stuff by hand and theyre very nice.
  14. Age: Nearly 16 Car: 78 280z Infractions: A clean record on a permit. Location:East Washington Cost: It'll be around $150 a month with the good grades discount. It doubles if the car was a "turbo" or "high performance" Luckily a turbo swap wont change insurance.
  15. Has it always done that cause when I drive my dads 4 cyl Saturn Vue the compressions low enough and the flywheel heavy enough to keep it revving for awhile. Never seen an L20et so Its probably different. Hope you figure it out. Sounds like it would be a fun car.
  16. I wish it was mine, I just found it on the internet somewhere and it was only big enough for an avatar. Sorry
  17. Try this www.alfaparts.net they should have what your looking for. Go to the top right corner to select datsun.
  18. That looks great. Is the tip a velocity stack? If so I want my dollar and cookie!! Did you ever think of doing dual exhaust? I was wondering if you could fit it, or would the gas tank be in the way. My idea was to split it right behind the diff and right in front of the gas tank. Think it would work?
  19. I've seen some pictures of a piece of sheet metat being put from the back of the air dam to the front of the core support right below the radiator. This would solve air leaking below from the front as long as the airdam is very low. But you still have the problem of air in the engine bay that need to escape. My idea is a cowl type hood that starts at the front of the hood and extends only about halfway up the hood. This would let air escape rather then suck air in. Like I said Im not old enough to get my license quite yet and my car isnt on the road anyways right now so all my thoughts are well.... thoughts.
  20. I think the largest issue of aerodynamics is the fact that the Z's have very large openings in the grill area. From what I know (havent been able to drive my Z on the streets at high speed yet) the Z will have lots of floating, Im guessing this comes from the air in this big opening going out below the engine instead of the hood which would cause lift. Out the hood would help down force and out the bottom would give lovely lift.
  21. I've also thought about an manual overdrive so I could keep my 78 4 speed for performance but still be able to get my rpm lower when Im cruising down the highway.
  22. What exactly do velocity stacks help do. I know it has to deal with air flow obviously but dont know exactly what.
  23. First off you"ll need the afm if your staying with stock computer as far as I know, and second I was going to put on the 60mm Tb and get "+15hp" but once I thought about it really wouldnt improve hp because your still going through the same ports and runners. When I first read about this swap I was really excited but it seemed to good to be true. Also the more I looked into it a saw that you have to make all sorts of adjustments to the intake manifold, etc. Anyways good luck.
  24. Im not sure if anyone already said this but it he said it wasnt a real scarab, it was made from scarab parts. Taking a slant 6 Cuda' and putting an original Hemi in it doesnt make it a a real Hemi Cuda', just a Hemi powered Cuda'.
