About how much do a good set of "quality" aftermarket headlights cost? I've seen a whole bunch but never known which are the best.

Will you be doing the same air dam and bumper as your coupe? Im planning on getting the same urethane air dam and chrome euro bumper, theyre and huge improvement over the stock monster bumpers. Hey Papa Chreech would you mind sending some pictures of your 2+2, I'm trying to find as many pictures as possible of 2+2's to see what colors look best. Thanks

Hey Im going to be doing the same thing soon. What im planning on doing is now that I have the shock absorbers out continue to take out the mounting brackets on the inside of the rear end sheetmetal that create small bumps with holes for bolts. Once those are hammered in and are smooth Ill take one large piece of sheetmetal and pull it around the back so that the edges of the sheetmetal stop a little more then a quarter of an inch away from each edge(edge below tail lights, corners on sides of the car and the lower edge. Once welded on Ill use bondo to smooth out where the sheet metal stopped. I havent done it yet but Im pretty sure Itll work fine. Good Luck.

The only thing better brake calipers and rotors does is continue to provide the good stopping distance over and over. Nearly any car you could find would have the power to lock up the tires, so it is like you said cygnusx1 it really just matters on your traction.

I'd like to paint my Z a pewter on the sides and a very dark corresponding black on the top. The line would go along the body line on the fender and bakc to the rear fender.

I think you need to take a better picture. Are they round, square, long, short? From what I see Id guess theyre the hatch weatherstripping.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. All the cars look great, but I really like the silver 2+2 Zeeboost. Id like to do that color silver on the sides and a pewter or black on the top. The seam would be the edge on the front and rear fender and across the edge on the door. I've got the rear louvers for my car and will probably take them off. Im guessing the louver are shorter for the 2+2's, or are they the same as coupes. One reason that silver Z looks so good is the quality of the paint, the paint looks Perfect!! Thanks

Ive always thought it would be cool if you put a cvt in fr the rear end and have different modes for the cvt like a auto mode or a dial for different ratios (dodges has a manual shift mode with programmable ratios that you can shift). Then make a engine with really high tourque at idle. Then drive every where at idle and get great mileage....hopefully.... Or buy a scooter.

Thanks. If I was to put in a 3.90 wouldnt it just make the 5 speed have almost the same ratio for the last gear. Instead of having 4 gears to get to around 1:1 you have 5?

Yeah no problem. Will you be getting the Fiberglass or chrome? Im debating the chrome are expensive but they really look good but then the Fg are cheaper and look good still, but then.... I keep going back and forth. Good luck! O and the weathers pretty nice!

Hi everybody, Ive got a rebuilt 82 5 speed (got for 100 bucks:burnout: )and a 78 4 speed. I like the fact the 4 spd has better acceleration, but the 5 speed would help mileage. I've looked at the 280z 5 speeds and a very reliable mechanic friend of mine said he didnt like how they were built. I was wondering If theyre was a trans. with a good first few gears for acceleration (like 3.3:1 1st) but still a tall overdrive like the 82. I've read about toyota or nissan truck trans on Z's in the past but couldnt find it or any info on a transmission like this on hybridz. Any info is appreciated. Thanks Also is it possible to use the 4 gears from the 4 spd in the 5 speed or is it totally different? Probably wouldnt work but I thought I'd ask.

When he says hes an aerospace engineer hes relating it to the aerospace aspect of z cars......anyways since for the most part you cant gain power without fuel and L28s are making around the same power as 4 cyl these days wouldnt z cars get the same mpg as a 4cyl? So 30's for a well tuned L motor should be easily ubtained? Am I correct or just stupid?

Currently the srt4 is the fastest car under 20 grand. They need a car thatll be cheaper and faster. They need to go for simplicity, simplicity is key to a successful sports car. Look at the Cobras they were small light powerful and simple cars, and they pretty much won any race they entered. What would they call the car if they built a new 3 liter or 2.8 liter motor? Would it be 280z,300z,or 350z, odds are theyd keep the current 3.5 l and just call it the new 350z. But what do I know?

Id like also to see something like a Lotus. A car with similair track/wheelbase as 240z's, superlight but not a mixture of carbon fiber and graphite that bumps the price up. Tuned suspension and not realistic but a new 6 cyl motor ohc 4 valve (like hondas unicam) that generates around 200-240hp. Not a lot of options that moves it out of the sports car relm, and last but not least real, chrome, bumpers. Then make prototypes for all the hybridz members to drive and own. free

DRAGONFLY will the hole vents help airflow move from the wheel wells to engine bay and out the hood vents?

That a good Idea, set it up with a tube to the back of the car near the exhaust and put a valve at the tank so you can use it to put out fires in your car if you have one, or make the tailgaters back off. What about a lcd screen for your License plate that changes to tell people to back off?

I meant for stock setups (misunderstanding) I dont think it works, but I bet it helps alot when you need more air.

Hey 2+2 owners, I was wondering If any 2+2 owners could post pictures of theyre Z. Doesnt matter If its stock or not just wanting to see how restored ones look. I've also noticed that only certain colors make the 2+2 look really good some colors make it look horrible and other look great. I've been trying to look for how paint colors, air dams, bumpers, etc look on 2+2's. Tried to post pics of my car but wouldnt let me.
