Where did the gasket fail? You might be able to tell if theyres a problem by looking at the damaged area? Was this the only thing replaced?

If I ever get in a car accidents and the car totals, I hope to buy it back and just keep it as memorabilia because it was my first car.

Does anyone know how to remove the 3 holed mounting brackets that make the sheetmetal stick out? I looked under the car and it looks as if theyre welded to the frame rails. Anyone taken these off. If you were to you might want to reinforce the rear sheetmetal somehow just in case.

Did you polish the entire manifold, what did you start with to make it smooth? Other then all the egr tubes and valves what all can you take off the intake.

Is a L28et in a L28 car qualified as a "different motor". Yes they are different but legally different?

I had been thinking on how that would look. Did you do anything to the floors? Patch the plugs or pound the indents out to be somewhat smooth? I thought about doing that but I thought it would look kinda tacky cause I thought it wouldnt be smooth.

Black chrome is gonna look real nice. I got a quote for the large 78 bumpers and it was gonna be 250 each, so I just bought fiberglass.

Why would you want to water it down? Whats wrong with drinking pure, strong, 100% alchohol, it was a bad day wasnt it.

If you look at a wheely car the tires look like they arent inflated and have a huge amount of wrinkle when they launch.

Thats what Ive always thought. I dont know the really technical parts of how a alternator works with amps volts etc. But if you move it (water pump) to run off the alternator, your still putting the same amount of stress on a different part of the front of the motor that in the end still leads to loosing hp from the motor. If I bought one it would be purely cosmetic and for space issues like LINEC said.

Yeah I realize that. It wouldnt be for track, just a bit of reinforcing because my car came with a sun roof and the roof is pretty much just a piece of curved sheet metal with a piece of glass in it. No structure at all. Would you be able to mount the racing harness at the bar across the top(for the cage I described) and it just go down into the holes in the back of the seat? Or do you have to have a bar that goes directly behind the holes?

Anybody know any rollcages that would work in a 78 2+2 and not make the back seats useless. I was thinking a cage that goes from the front of the inside of the wheel well up and over to the other side. Something like this mabey dont mind the erased part.Just the visible bars.

First off, I have heard back and forth on the fact if it works to give "15 hp" or if it just makes you have to mess with the cold start injector and idle valve? What I did to do solve the Idle problem was just have an adjustable screw that sets the butterfly barely open to let only a little air in. Havent put it on so I dont know if it works.

I was at a car show recently and this guy had an old pontiac pirresian or something to that sort with a stack at the muffler cause he was running the motor in place and was selling these little secondary coils that go between the distributor and the coil. He had a circuit board to be able shut of spark plugs and show the speed of the car so he could show how his product helped. This doesnt deal with rpm/speed but when he put the coil on at the same throttle position the car speed up about 5-10 mph. He claimed it helped with mileage and probably a very small amount of power.

I think a 4 cylinder would be a very big mistake. Especcially a 1.8 liter. The z's a 6 cylinder car, I wouldnt neccesarily car if its v6 or L6 but it would be like putting a 4cy in the challenger concept. Id like to see a dohc unicam strait 6 like honda dirtbikes. Nissan cant keep getting larger and larger a motor or we'd have a 560z, so probably just a 3.5 liter. At some point you have to realize car companies really dont care about the old z's design unless theyre loosing buisness and theyre a demand for a retro car. And from what Ive seen it doesnt look like 350z sales are slacking.

I would cry if that orange car was the new Z!!! I think that one important thing is to keep the headlights at the same level as the hood. Not where they stick out above the hood like a porsche or those TVRs. I think Nissan should do what Dodge with the challenger and get did and get a old Z (instead of challenger) in the design room and make a prototype while looking at the car. On those TVR's I think theyre all cool cars but the designers at TVR must of been smoking something when they made the speed 12, that thing is crazy looking!

L26's gross power (flywheel) is about 150 i think, an L28 is 170 so I think it gonna be somewhat hard to get 200 hp Na without spending a lot on a L26. Several Nos stickers and a Viynl scratch mark helps on power too.

Looks great, love the paint. What all did you have to do to the spoiler to look like that. I just got mine and am not sure if I should paint it black or sand it down and clear it.

MSA buys there parts from PRP. Msa didnt sell them anymore so I guess PRP doesnt sell them anymore. Yeah Ive been sure to check out the kits I buy, I saw they had to retool all the door weatherstripping cause it was to thick. I was talking to Kim a Idaho Z car and he said to get 3 '72 240z door weatherstripps and cut them to fit on the 2+2 door. He"s working on a 2+2 and thats what he's doing so Ive got them in a box in my room. Im gonna check to see If PRP makes it or might make it soon. Mabey if someone else needs this piece I talked about in my first post they might make it? Thanks.

As I was pulling my Z apart I noticed that the vertical pillar in front of the quarterwindows had a samll piece of weatherstripping at the top. About 4'' by 2''. I checked with MSA and they had it in 2001, but not now. I was wondering first If anyone had some of these laying around or knew of a place that sells them. I tried finding Precisions website but cant find it? Anyone know the web adress for there home page? Mine are in terrible condition and I really need new ones. Thanks Derek
