  1. Who says you have to have 245/45's. FI JUNKY- Will the whole car be "full built" like the motor or will you keep it close to stock with some minor cosmetic/performance changes.
  2. Yep repost. Doesnt matter. Ive got the catalog and that stuffs pretty expensive, luckily Im not doing a V8 swap.
  3. Congratulations, sounds like itll be a fun car, I bet It felt great! Im over in spokane and weve got about a foot of snow cant wait for it to melt and I can get my car running to. How much snow do you have?
  4. My cars kinda a greyish-silver-whiteish colors right now. (Primers/new panels) but soon Im gonna go with a sliver like Mikelly's or Cliftons with flat black accents on the window frames, fiberglass bumpers (mine arriving Jan!) etc. If you go with a silver/grey Id have the flat black accents, If you go with like a midnight blue go for very bright chrome. Hope it turns out well! You need to get some pics!
  5. yeah like olderthenme said get something with very little rust!! Ive had to do all my own body work (more rust then good metal) so far and Ive gained experience but its taken alot of time. If you get something thats not mechanically sound thats more easily fixed then body.
  6. Primadonna z: That car you posted has a huge wing! The front end hardly looks like a Z anymore. Is that your car?
  7. That would have been a great deal. But Im quite far away
  8. Im only in 10th grade and even last year theyre were tons of kids that are in to marijuanna and even ectasy. Most the kids I went to elementary with are now into drugs because most the kids in our neighborhood are spoiled rotten and the parents dont care what theyre kids spend money on or where they are. Theyres even kids that smoke on our bus!! Its sad that the parents didnt care enough to keep track of theyre kids and that they were dumb enough to give in to peer pressure. Luckily my parents have me work for what I get and I cant go anywhere I want anytime I want. Im sorry to for all thats happenned Brandon, the important thing now is not loosing your neice to the same thing, and that everyone that knew your sister is smarter now. On another note wheelman: A while back I contacted you about some 2+2 parts in kennewick, I was just wondering If your ever at one of the junkyards (not right now its winter) and theyres a 2+2 you could give me a hollar. It would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Looks like your tires on fire in the picture with you and the torch.
  10. Looks like a great project. That picture for some reason makes your car look really low and long, its a great picture. What kind of air dam does your car have, It looks like it has a long lip in the front. I saw in your sig you have vvt head. What kind of VVt does it use? Any plans of other racing?
  11. Looks great! The paint is some of the nicest Ive seen! I got my 280z when I was 11 and I really havent had the knowledge till the last year or so to do anything (almost 5 yrs later). Im hoping to finish my car in spring and itll hopefully look like a mix of Austins and Cliftons (hopefully the same quality too).
  12. Looks like you got a good deal! Im trying to find some good seats too. All you need now is nitrous to hook up to the two red buttons on the steering wheel, you can push them and everythin around you will start to get blurry cause your going so fast. (Fast and the Furious)
  13. Along with the upgraded oil pump Helix said add in an oil coolor the size of a radiator.
  14. I bought a Hobart for 300 dollars from a guy at a body shop while I shadowed there. It was almost new with shielding gas and regulator. Ive found even on the lowest setting and pretty high wire speed its hard to not blow through the Z's metal. I've only had a year or so of welding experience so I might be doing something wrong. So try to get something with a power dial thats adjustable not just 4 or 5 levels. Ive also found that you should buy what you want the first time and not buy cheap stuff thats gonna break. Hope you find something.
  15. It looks great. I wish my Z was moving along as fast as yours is!
  16. If I take my car to Maaco it will just be for spraying. Ill try to get all the body work finished and and wet sanded to be ready for paint. All the doors, fenders, hatches will be off so Im guessing getting them to do door jams etc. wont be extra. Thanks for the info on Maaco.
  17. I believe MSA has them. http://www.thezstore.com/store/merchant.mvc
  18. My grandpa had one on his Oldsmobile, It helped visability some but was always in the way and falling off.
  19. Both turned out great! But I was actually wondering how much the actual paint costs. Im hopefully painting my car in spring and have been looking for the right gray, I had seen some new Dodge pickups with grays similar to yours that I liked. I dont know how to paint and dont have painting equipment so Im probably taking it to Maaco for them to spray it. Would this kind of paint be available there or would you have to buy it and give them the paint?
  20. Are you doing a turbo swap? Id personally pull most the driveline and keep it. Like you said including the brakes, etc. Im not sure if theyre any stronger but it would seem like it. They beefed up the clutch but anything other then that Im not sure. Ill look in my chiltons and see if theyres anything about this.
  21. Have you checked they're website? I saw quite a few there.
  22. Could I ask how much the paint was 280z28?
  23. Thats true, I meant "Better" gas mileage.
