  1. What do you mean braze? All I have is a mig welder and a mapp torch.
  2. Looks like he smacked something on the left front airdam...
  3. Well I had a few minutes, spare broken p79 and a toyota intake runner thing (looked cool at junkyard, and Im a sucker). Cut off the runner/plenum of the p79 and split apart the toyota manifold. Its a close fit on the original intake pieces and the toyotas (how runners meet up) but Im hoping I can do some cutting and get it to fit. The end design would be the two connected together with the toyota part completely shaved off all the brackets and junk, and then either a plenum bolted to the right side of the toyota runners, or three TB's.... :) Let me know what you think. Now I need to know someone that can weld aluminum...
  4. PROGRESS Diff, half shafts, and driveshaft are in the car. NEW PARTS 83 280zx calipers and rotors came in yesterday. I will be using them on the rear along with zraceproducts brackets. (which will be here next week) ALSO STILL NO GLAND NUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Well alot of the new direct injected engines are really high compression, but not that high. Heres a few things about the fuel system.
  6. I have a set of 83 Zx calipers I can check if you want.
  7. UPDATE COSTS -Gasket, sealant, and oil, $27. Took alot of time and one broken u joint but I got it all together. Also reassembled halfshaft, diff, and driveshaft. Tomorrow I will fill it and install it with the rear control arms possibly... might wait to put the spindle pins in. Still no gland nut, getting kind of mad. I start school monday and after that there wont be much time to work. They said it would be here wed. but it never came.
  8. So as in your application (and others) did they rule the extra weight of the lt1 (in your case) caused the coils to "bind up" and not give much travel?
  9. I say plexiglass over a tube frame.... learn to vacume mold.
  10. Well I did get them off and it was quite easy.. As in the first picture I posted, (but this time all the clips were removed, stupid shucks, should have checked for myself) I hammered on the area AROUND the cap, the cap begins to come out of the yoke upwards and then you can pull it out. Flip it over to the other side and repeat. The other cap will come out then you can remove the yoke. Now you just have the ujoint in the halfshaft, so this time I put it in the vice with the u joint stubs bridging the gap. I took a socket a little bigger then the cap and started tapping on it as it sat around the cap (pushing on the yoke again). Does the same thing as before, cap comes out the top, you flip it over and repeat, then you can pull the u joint out. Done!! Thanks for the help everyone, what I learned from this is always double check if there are indeed clips, and actually use your brain.
  11. I didnt hit the caps at all. GOing out now to finish it up.
  12. Some might say the l28 is slow too.
