  1. Among my eBay searches: titles containing "Dotsun" "Datson" and "Breaks"....... I have found some good stuff with very few viewers / bidders.
  2. Search "RV Dinghy Towing" http://www.remcotowing.com/products.php
  3. http://www.waltech.org/zpage/V8-280zx.htm Shows how he solved some steering rack clearance issues and a Creative solution to a starter clearance problem.

  7. Just going by the color of the shock towers.....it's prepped for a John Deere tractor engine....
  8. Would the smaller pilot bearing suffer a lack of lubrication, since it's outer race has been "raised" 7.5mm by the spacer ^up^ and out of the gear oil at the floor of the housing snout?
  9. Try your local parts place like Napa Dorman Part # 616014 Axle/Spindle Nut KIT: FRONT 20mm-1.0 Thread $6.50 for the pair.
  10. Hi Terry, I had bad vibes (hahahaha) from POLY T-C bushings in my Mustang, so I replaced them with rubber and went with rubber in the Z. I can't recall the brand (Beck / Arnley perhaps) I bought "Stock" rubber bushings from Black Dragon, about 5 years ago. They were exactly the same size as the 25+ year old originals. Their current prices are $30 for rubber, ($35 for poly.) PartsAmerica (local to me Advance Auto parts) lists 3 manufacturers, no MOOG: Beck / Arnley pn#1013850 $3.44 ea. TRW pn#HB1175 $3.88 ea. McQuay - Norris pn#FA1317 $8.99 set of 4. Rubber set is $20-$25 on EBAY: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240z-260z-280z-Front-Tension-Rod-Bushings-NEW_W0QQitemZ220204852802QQihZ012QQcategoryZ6763QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  11. One bonus is the Junk yards around here are full of spare parts for the 4cyl Fox bodies, it should be inexpensive to keep a DD on life support.
  12. Start your speech with a joke: The Japanese designed, engineered, and manufactured new car in only 30 days. They needed a catchy name to begin marketing. One guys says "Let's ask the Germans, they always have cool names for cars like Volkswagen...Audi....Mercedes....". So they call Germany and ask "What would you call a car that only took 30 days to design and build?" And the German replies "Dat soon?" Then there was the blonde who went to the auto parts store to buy a 710 cap for her 24 ounce Datsun. "Datsun delivered a car that could be driven to and from work 5 days a week, then raced against the world's premiere sports cars on the weekends." - Autoweek television
  13. http://allcarsreview.com/2007/10/11/1966-ford-mustang-el-camino-with-chevy-s-10-rear-end/ It has the lines of an El Rancher-ino. Well, I think this is kind of neat. But then I like Curtis' 1959 Cadillac pickup in "The Blues Brothers"....
  14. Guys, I'm getting behind on the acronyms. When I read DD it makes me think of Dolly Parton.
  15. My Chilton's book is pretty sparse, but does cover '84-'89 300ZX models. It says to get to the heater core you have to take the dash apart - and - (shudder) evacuate the air conditioning system. Please tell me it's not buried that deep!?!
  16. Thanks 240ztt, I found an answer to a question that's been baffling me for years.
  17. This is true. Which is why I trust the recomendations of HybridZ members before searching elsewhere.
  18. found it here: http://www.kitcarmag.com/techarticles/general/0707kc_keeping_it_cool/index.html
  19. I have a 1966 289 4 speed hard top, my daily driver since 1979. Need info input! Does anyone know of a good Forum site for tech, Q&A....resto mods, shows and stuff? I used to subscribe to some Ford and Mustang magazines, but they keep re-running the same tired stories every few years. thanks, Mark
