  1. Not starsharks. These are SSR MK III's. I paid 700 for mine, but they where local and in great shape. 14x7 btw
  2. I guess that simplifies it a bit. Please forgive my ranting but I was in a partial tryptophan coma and desperatly needed sleep. I was just happy to get up this morning and see my post actually made sense. Gotta love the bottomless Brazilian grills! Back to the wheel debate. Oh yeah, "simplify and add lightness".
  3. Yeah, this car is all about performance. Thats why it weighs a full 1400lbs more than the F40 from over 20 years ago. Granted it has 150 more hp, a plush interior, more brakes and bigger wheels to slow all that mass down with. The point is every single new car has bigger wheels now, but they also weight substaintially more. It is just the natural evolution of the industry. Sure, the new Z has 18s or 19s. I don't see any of them getting down under 2000 lbs with out quite a budget though. It may be my personal rant, but I joined Hybridz and purchased my first Z because I don't want to push around 3000-3500 (or more) pounds of flashy wheels, plush interior, high power stereo, and multiple airbags! Even the 911, once the epitome of a stripped down sports car, has a ton of; unnecessary eloctronics, sound deadening, airbags, and cup holders. I'm not knocking anyone's automotive enthusiasm however it differs from my own. I have friends with 80hp minitrucks that run 20" wheels... thats fine, but if you like it only for the way it looks call it what it is. After all this is america where we drive our big fat a$$es around in our big fat cars/suv's and park them in front of our big fat houses. I'll keep my 10 pound 14's with 19 pound tires. Rant over.
  4. Welcome to the forum. Use the search function and expand your horizons. Theres a whole sticky on this for cryin out loud!
  5. Take that 427 out of the vette, slap it in a sleek body, and watch 170mph look like just another tic on the speedo. I think that is the point the guys are making. Just look at TonyD. He's going that fast with around 120 cubic inches. Just my .02
  6. Ah I can see it now. Our grandkids in school reading about how the last revolution stemmed from a bunch of guys with "beat up ole 70's sports cars" who where tired of being over taxed and under represented! Now back to the parts thread (steps down from stump).
  7. Can you build a stroker for five grand, yes. Will it make and survive 250 whp for five grand, not likely. It's not imposible, I'm sure its been done. And if your as savy a junk yard searcher as your post sugests you are, go for it. BTW the seach will be your friend. There is a ton of stroker and N/A information on this board. Look at BRAAP's head posts - that is where I suggest you start. Good Luck!
  8. I never give uncle sam an intrest free loan on MY money. Just save a little all year and pay up in april. I haven't had a return in years and always end up with more in my pocket this way. Always!
  9. I have all of the above and just got back from FL. Damn, wish you had posted a week ago. PM if interested
  10. Great film. I watched it on speed IIRC. Pure carguy documentary, kind of slow for other folks I would suspect. I really enjoyed it and will watch it again the next time I catch it. Wait... I think I TVR'd the thing. YAHOO!
  11. Over the years there have been a handful of situations where I considered selling one or two of my Z's. She always helps me find another way to deal with it, and talks me out of the sale. Shes helped me; strip cars down, pull engines, clean and pack parts to sell, and even been on a few trips to the junk yard. She is a blessing and is so much more than I deserve. I finally made her a lady August 28th last year (after six years). Shes not going any where and neither is my 240z.
  12. Search around. There are several folks here running the 4 barrels. If you are that strapped for cash though, throw some su's on it and spend some time withe ZTherapy's tunning video. There is a whole lot in those little su's.
  13. I have 280zxt and 300zxt cv axles. PM if interested please.
  14. Thanks for throwing us a bone. I think ~$2000 is reasonable for the manifolds and throttles. I'm glad you put this out there for us as now I will hold on my plans for the time being and maybe even have a turbo motor up for sale soon. You are the man!
  15. My offer of a complete interior less; dash, console, seats, carpet, and tail light panel for $300 still stands. That means door panels, plastics, headliner for $300.. so, maybe negotiate with me and one of these guys who has the tail light panel and your done. Or I could refinish my tailight panel for $100 if you purchased everything else.
  16. I have a z31 T3 you could upgrade to. $125 + shipping. Thanks
  17. I just picked up an '83 turbo. I may not come off of the crank... still not sure, but we could make a deal for the pulley. Pm me a real email address for pix. Thanks.
  18. Some of those bills look pretty old. You might want to hang on to them or investigate posible value beyond whats printed on them.
  19. I have 4 of them, ready to ship. Let me know and I'll get back to you tomorrow. PM's work best. Complete head - $225 shipping is usually around $60.
  20. Or maybe he's just going to celebrate for the next three days!
  21. If it is that short maybe you should look at the flowmaster "delta flow" or something similar. These things flow! They are short; mines about 8-9 in.. And are fairly cheap, especially if you can find one thats been crouding the shelf at a speed shop for 10 bucks like I did!
  22. I can't believe I missed this at the beginning. I guess I'm moving to the back of the line.
  23. We are currently testing 4 in mufflers on an 800hp srt-4. PM me if interested. Our 4in system with a muffler weighs substantially less than the factory exhaust with out a muffler (2.5 in). Shootme your demensions and I'll give you a price. We will also be putting an s30 system together sometime.. if I ever get my car ready for it.
