  1. When you use them to push the rear of the car up and through some weight back on the drive wheels they sure do.
  2. If you have dished pistons and a maxima head, ahem mn47;) you're around 9:1 maybe 9.5:1 compression, especially if the head was shaved during rebuild. Running that compression with dished pistons on crap gas is going to put the rings and valves through some wicked heat. I would suspect the valve discolloration is a result of this heat, as for the cam wiping??????? Maybe it was a result of a poor cleaning or rebuild, not sure. I hope a real engine guy can chime in and steer you better through this problem as I am a meer ammature. Merry Christmas Hybridzers
  3. I'll match that, $200 shipped for everything but the ecu. Less if you don't need the exhaust manifold because that adds to the shipping.
  4. Thats not from nissan, I think it was Kamaeri or OSG or somebody like that.
  5. I have basically everything but the ecu from a 83zx. Manifolds, throtle body, injectors, maf, and so on. Everything worked well when pulled a couple of years ago. This was my daily driver and has had the injectors replaced and it ran very well. $150 plus shipping. PM if interested.
  6. You can buy a new 3.15, but they are $1500 for ring and pinion ONLY the last time I checked.
  7. With a 1.76 first gear and a 1.00 second your question is a little confusing. Your second gear is the same as any three speed automatic and fourth gear in most five speeds. The question then becomes what axle ratio should you run to have first gear pull hard, yet not run out of revs before the 1/4. Which gets us back to sporks reply. Good luck
  8. Well you definitly know more than I do. Maybe it took 40 years for the knowledge to transfer to "popular" application. Then maybe I'm totally off base (it wouldn't be the first time!).
  9. Turbo cam technology has changed considerably in recent years with both the advancement in turbos and the availabilty/affordability of stand alone efi. If you look into both drag and roadrace builders you will see the trend leaning more and more towards more overlap. The overlap can also extend the life of the bearings in theory. Full disclosure: I'm no turbo guru, but this is based on research of guru's. I'll post links if time permits.
  10. I agree, its amazing the risks people take on things like this. They makes such good parts and yet they're willing to ruin their reputation on acount of a couple extra bucks. Rediculous! I'm with TonyD; threats like that can go a LONG way.
  11. Yeah, me thinks big boost leak. I am no turbo guy but that would be my guess.
  12. They usually find you at a show. They'll ask for an interview and then you'll go do a photo shoot. At least that is how; "Mini-Truck", "Truckin", and "3-s" do it.
  13. Learn something new everyday. Either way it looks like a nice system for anyone in Europe where shipping wouldn't be a bear.
  14. I stumbled upon this over at zclub.net: http://zclub.net/forum/djs30/17324-exhausts-stainless-steel.html Mods if this is a repost please delete.

  16. I just found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240z-very-rare-1970-Datsun-240-z-HLS30-00231-/120629170772?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1c160f1254 I would really like to have it, but I am NOT buying any more cars. This is HLS30 number 231!
  17. Its usually my DD scoobaru Legacy with 243000 miles. Its slow but its a wagon that gets 28mpg. Sometimes you've gotta have a truck, but this little Subaru makes more trips to the junkyard than my pickup.
  18. You can buy 5 pieces from 5 different suppliers and they will all match perfectly, as soon as they come out of the paint booth. I just don't understand the obsession with nude cf. Put some freakin paint on it! My $.02
  19. That is why this site is packed with free information. If you want someone to tell what exhaust to get then go to a muffler shop. If you want to research different exhausts and there benefits search here and in the "engine components; exhaust" forum. If you want to hear results go to youtube. It really is not that hard.
  20. None taken. I believe I misread the add anyway. I am selling cv's and stubs, not stubs and flanges. Sorry.
