  1. It could be very expensive to send the info from someone else's car. You could be paying for parts that will not fit, then paying for the right ones. John needs the info from YOUR car. Some year Z's have different flanges, etc. Have the patience to order your parts only after you check this stuff all out. It will save you headaches in the long run. Mike
  2. your pedal hight adjustment can control the distance your clutch master piston is pushed in or released. If the piston cannot come all the way out, it could cause your clutch to slip. Mike
  3. 4" manifold to firewall, my oil pressure sender fits just under the hood latch. Not a lot of room but would be cool. Mike
  4. Hanns, Man that thing is clean. I'd say I would eat off of it but I might leave a crumb. I have never seen it before and would like to see the rest of it. I wish the MSA show wasn't so far away. Mike
  5. Yes, John's unit does fit, I used it. I just couldn't figure out the PS location. I'll check out your pics when it is done. Using the corvette engine mount on the dr. side should make it easier to get the alternator to fit also as it has a tendency to iterfere with the John's mount and the old Z mount. What headers are you using? Mike
  6. Ok, so if you put the AC high left (as I did), where do you put the PS that is now high left? Just curious cause I sometimes think I might like PS. Mike
  7. I'd say if not too rusty, its a deal. maybe I'll go check it out. Its close by. Just kidding, don't need another project right now. Mike
  8. Are you running AC, I can't tell from the pics. I had to move the ac unit to where to PS is on yours. Maybe on the Oregon coast you don't need ac so much. Looking really good!!! Bet you can't wait to give it a drive. Mike

    Mopar???

One of the nicest swaps I have ever seen was a 340. It was some years ago, not at all fast, but very nicely done. I am sure you would have to fab your own mounts but it can, and has been done. Mike
  10. Humm. Except for trimming the boss, I didn't have any clearance issues, and don't have any plug wires touching either. Go figure. Mike
  11. Yeah, they wouldn't use the diagnostic port here either, but oh well.
  12. Was kind of dreading having to test the Z. With the L28 and SU's used to take me a few tries to get it done. But the new LS2 passed with flying colors on the first run. I did use my Predator to re-install the stock tune before hand. The guys at the test station looked really funny when I popped the hood, and got out the big book, then just shook their heads and hooked it up. Couple of minutes later the screen read PASS! Mike
  13. I used a hammer a little to make room for the back up light switch, but I couldn't tell exacly where it was going to be, so when we were putting the tranny in, I used a big pry bar with a rag wrapped around the sharp end to "dent" the tunnel. It bent quite easily and I got the dent just where it needed to be. Mike
  14. That should be more than enough. Looks really good, nice and clean under there. Mike
  15. Dave, I really have no idea about the gas mileage, I am waiting to try to drive it normally for a little while before I check it-can't seem to keep my right foot out of it. It does seem to get much better than the six though. I can't believe how much better the car is as an around town car. Better torque, steers easier, smoother running, just start and drive. No cooling issues so far either. Good luck and feel free to PM me if you have any questions I can help with. Mike
  16. Merry christmas! I'd like to know how the power steering install goes. The LS2 is definately a great swap. I love mine. Mike
  17. my boat engine is basically a 1998 vortec 350 (truck engine) with marine carb and exhaust and cooling mods. Mike
  18. I too have to go visit the emissions folks this month. I hope I have a little better luck. I read before I started that changing the t-stat was not going to help and that these motors like to run hot. I am not having any cooling problems at all with the stock t-stat. I am using the JTR radiator, and the fan /shroud from JCI. I believe it is from a ford van. I am also using the predator tuner/programmer, and they have been really good to work with, writing me custom programs whenever I have needed to change things. I have faith that it will pass. I hope, I hope, I hope. Mike
  19. I know that the 280Z mounts will not work in the zx. I don't think anyone makes a zx LSx mount yet. You could be the first to attempt this swap, and I am sure it can be done. Good luck. Mike
  20. I did ok except for the tire spin. There were 131 cars and I think I had better times than anything that didn't have race rubber. And almost none that did. I used to auto-x a lot and used to have some good hoosier's but I haven't been out for 13 years and am not willing to buy a set of new tires just for one time out. Mike
  21. BTW I bought my car two years ago from a dentist who lived in Post Falls Idaho. Post Falls is a long way to go for a car from Georgia. Mike
  22. OK= i hope this is what you are looking for. Mine is 3 3/4 inches lower than the stock rear valance under the rear bumper. My car is lowered a little, but the tank is 8 inches off the ground. Mike
  23. I don't think those numbers look bad at all. I have yet to get mine in to dyno it, but tire spin is a problem right now. I went to an auto X for the first time in about 13 years-on my 225mm street tires-this weekend. I think I beat everything that wasn't on race rubber, and almost nothing that was. It was fun though. Mike
  24. Chris, Congrats. It won't be long now before there will be black stripes from your garage to the nearest tire store. Mike
