  1. For some reason I though they had a HEX key in the "nipple", as you guys call it not %100 sure though Nigel
  2. Doesn't a standard fuel pump have fuel running through it (i.e. wet type) ?, why doesn't it explode ?, my understanding is the fuel help keeps the motor cool as well. Nigel
  3. plugged in, as in electrical connected, or fuel line connected to the cold start injector ? my train of though is, it maybe it stuck open ? Nigel
  4. I downloaded it last night, and it opened fine for me. Nigel
  5. JSM, have you got any pictures showing the oil line on the other side, where it connects to the engine ( at the T piece ?), Since I will be turboing my engine down the track, I'm interested in how the oil line connects to the engine, since here in Australia, there are no turbo Zs, to get parts from. Nigel
  6. "first time I've run 10w30 oil in warm weather" maybe this is why you can't run as much advanced, warmer weather, the air would be less dense than it would be in colder weather. I'm no expert, but this may be a clue Nigel

    Data Logging

Thanks, That's all I needed to know. Nigel

    Data Logging

Hi, I have a Datsun 240k (HGC110 Skyline), not a 240z, 240s, running a EFI setup out of a MR30 Skyline, L24e. My question shouldn't make a difference what car I have, just that it's efi and I want to capture the data that the standard ECU is using. i.e RPM, AFR, throttle position, map reading, temperatures, etc.. it looks like this if you are interested http://noddle.110mb.com/My%20Datsun%20240K%20-%20HGC110/index.html Nigel

    Data Logging

Hi, I'm wanting to data log my existing ECU, so I have some information on how I should set up mega squirt, problem is my ECU is a old style L24 ECU, no outputs. So what I need to know, can I hook up my mega squirt (MSII v3.0 board) as in this picture to capture the data, and not damage the injector drivers, since these will not be connected. As for the temp sensors, I have new ones, and will use these, the TPS will not be connected to the original ECU (only the switch part not the variable resistor part) As for tuning it on a dyno, where I live, I don't believe they have even heard of mega squirt, so I have to do it all myself, thank you for any input in advanced, Nigel
  10. I'm no expert, but this is what I read at part 65, when I did mine If you are not using the IGBT high current driver circuit, but want to use the MegaSquirt-II output to control an ignition module (7 or 8 pin HEI for example), jumper JS10 to IGN to bring the signal out on DB37 pin #36. You do not need a pull up, the processor port has one enabled already (at 5 Volts). Skip ahead to step #66. So I went straight to 66 also at 50, I selected 50b to let the dissy control spark for now (get timing from the negative side of the coil for MS), and modify later to 50a for when I go EDIS Nigel edit : not sure if this what you were after.
  11. Some times, I wonder why I even bother replying to peoples threads, I had already answered most of the what was said in this thread, in his other thread about the same thing. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=135333 Nigel
  12. So who turns your car on and off, when you need to reboot megasquirt, whilst sitting at work tuning it ? I will disagree with you on this, I run VM's at work and I have had no real issues, as for running it under a Mac, I suppose that is the problem Nigel
  13. Run "Microsoft Virtual PC" under Vista, and run XP as a VM Nigel
  14. Replace it, if it has rotated, it stuffed Nigel
  15. This might work also, http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/EDIS.htm look at the info at the bottom of the page. I spotted this when I was researching MS with EDIS Nigel
  16. Would this work ? http://www.gweeds.net/carpage2/RevCounterCircuit.pdf Nigel
  17. Hi, For the first question, it could be a few things, has the outer part of the balancer rotated on the rubber ?, has it got the right balancer / timing mark for your engine i.e. is the timing "tag" on the left or right side of the front cover ?, I believe L24 are on the right (looking from the front of the car), L28 on the left (or the other way around) has the gear rotated on the oil pump / disy shaft ? second question, Has the head be planed ?, this may be why your chain / gear timing marks are a little out, you could move it to the 2 or 3 mark to see if it gets any closer, see picture and http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=111523 for more info I hope this helps Nigel
  18. can you wind the motor over with the starter motor, and see which hole the oil comes out off ? Nigel
  19. Not sure if this has to do with anything, (I'm new to MS and still not sure of what is best), but I see your spark table is very low, i.e. 7 degrees at idle, and 6 degrees at the top end. I take it you are using MS to do the timing ?. I've included a pic of your config for others to see Nigel
  20. I just read a article about "Manifold Insulators" , here http://autospeed.com/cms/A_110474/article.html I'm sure that people who are after every ounce or power out of there engines may find it a interesting read Nigel
  21. I was looking for some wiring diagrams through google and came across this http://books.google.com.au/books?id=SGtXeQwR4DUC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_summary_r&cad=0 "The Nitrous Oxide High-Performance Manual" It looks to be the complete book. I though it may interest some people. Nigel well maybe not the whole book, after a second look.
  22. 1 fast z, do you have any high res picture of what you have show above, I would love to have a better look at your work, unless it a trade secret. Nigel
  23. Hi, It's off a MR30 Skyline (1985), I though you were interested in the process of how to do it, since they are not the same (?) the process of removing the material should be similar. or you could cut the end off, and have it welded up. Nigel
