  1. isnt the late 280Z alt. internaly regulated? do you think you would have to change the wiring at all using the max. alt. in a 280Z (or a 240z with 280 wiring.) ? I was thinking of switching to the one wire GM alt. but this sounds interesting. What are your opinions on the GM vs. the max alt.? ?
  2. oops! im so pissed right now...spelling is of no importance! bah... what im looking for is two NEW flat top floats for the flat top carbs. anywho...the search goes on.
  3. I cannot believe what I just heard. I have been searching for some parts for a gentleman in japan who asked me to help him out. I finally get a break and think i found a company in NJ that has three of what im lookiing for. I call and i call....never getting a call back, then today, somebody answers: Hello? ummm...yes i was referred to you by company X that you might have some parts for my datsun. HA HA ha ha....(silence) umm..whats so funny? We scrapped all of our datsun inventory. so your looking in the wrong place. but company X told me...(interupted) company X sees inventory we dont have. nissan (!!) told us to trash all of our datsun parts. and thats what we did. oh..thats odd, Do you know where they went? Can i buy all your surplus? NO you CANT, its sitting in a pile in some junk yard im sure. oh, ok...thanks i guess... (click!) W T F ? that is just plain stupid, Why would a company with a suposed care for heritage scrap all datsun parts? this is pissing me off to no end! Im just not understanding. Not only does it piss me off, but now i look like a jackass to my JP friend because i told him I found his parts! now what do i tell him, He has helped me many times when i need something....and now i just cant come through. Excuse my rant....but this is pure B.S. !!!!!! BAH!
  4. YES YES YES! oh....and please? whats your ETA on building such a rail? my thoughts are...that if affordable....you would sell a good deal of them.
  5. im considering a couple of swaps at the moment, but just so yall know, Ive got a 13B in my garage right now. is it going to go in a Z? who knows. its all complete....its just a matter of getting it up and running on a bench and seeing whats up with it. laterZ
  6. this is some funny stuff! wish i was that clever sometimes. clickity click: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2412766618
  7. I think you should sell your HRE's to me. oh.......and go with some 19s! that would be so nice...the only problem i might see is rubbing on the front fender during hard turns.
  8. http://www.beam.tv/beamreels/beamreel.php?dzjgijxl well, according to the director...it took 600+ takes and is one shot. hmm...dont know if i believe that one. looks a little to CGI to me. whatayathink?
  9. I would like a black Tshirt with the logo on the front and slogan on the back, or the slogan on the front left (amsll print) with a larg logo on the back. or...the dickies shirt sounds cool. maybe a nice black polo shirt with the black and white checkerd sleeves. a nice old school baseball hat style with the logo on the front center, and then the slogan around the back open area (above the adjuster straps.) a patch sounds cool as well. grey Tshirts are cool, But black would be great at hiding dirt and gunk i get from fixing my car on the side of the road. also...I couls go out on a date with my girl, and not have to spend time cleaning up and lookin good. just close the hood N pick her up!
  10. lmao Nathan, sounds like a really bad comercial! "dream a little dream....in a Z..."(fade to black with the sounds of boost and BOVs) bah! I need sleep.
  11. oops....guest is me BTW. Ive been having these "brain clouds" lately. Im surpised my GF still lets me out of the house. geez
  12. that stinks. chances are, most people that looked at it didnt even have a clue. Ive noticed that at some Z shows, the judges are so clueless in the class that they are judging that an incredible job goes unoticed...where as the average car will place higher because the judge added points for a "factory spare". Im sorry i missed the show, but i will be there next year with my Z..maybe i can park next to you and have everbody just walk by. whats your next move on the RBeaZt?
  13. stony! you are the man! thats a great looking setup, Almost looks like its supose to be there! really impresive work there. im looking forward to hearing your results, and reading your right up on the swap. its alot of work...but just might be the answer.
  14. a five bolt hat would be HUGE for the early Z guys. I can only dream of some of the wheels i would like to have because of the current 4 bolt pattern on my car. but I can also unserstand that the more options you add...the higher the price is for both your company..and the consumer.
  15. wow! I Am Very interested! put me down for a set as well! you guys ever think about making a Big brake setup for the rear as well?
  16. does it look like this? this is a VLSD from a silvia.... its a bad picture i know.
  17. 260Zman is right on! I broke TWO EZouts when i was trying to take off the exhaust manifold on my turbo motor. I then tried to drill it out with no luck. Then i broke out my welder....put the gogles on...and in thirty minutes both studs were out! just be carefull to not weld on the head itself....it makes some nasty little holes in it if ya do. laterZ
  18. hmm.....I hate to tell you guys this...but on all the Zs ive owned....a BFH (or rubber mallet) allways got the drums off in no time flat. what the hell are yous guys doing wrong eh? sorry....but I had too
  19. hey guys, I know that there arent a great number of members that are researching this swap...but the questions keep coming up. the questions are regarding the super hybrid swaps....such as the SR20DET, the CA18DET, the 13B, and even the hybrid mitsu combo that seems so promising. It seems to me that there are enough people requesting info....and getting into the first stages of such swaps...that a dedicated forum might be the answer. I know that I have been researching the SR/CA swaps now for some time...and would love to have a place to chat and share info, and i think that others would like that as well. anywho...whadaya think? -S
  20. AIRCRAFT REMOVER! this stuff rocks! but only buy it in the spray can form. wear goggles, gloves, long sleeves, and long pants. do it outside in the sun, and let the part heat up in the afternoon....the stuff works best on parts between 70-100 degrees. ive used it on alum, steal with no ill effects. just be sure to clean the part really really well prior to any re-painting or powder coating. dont buy the kleen strip crap...it doenst work near as well as aircraft remover. laterZ
  21. I would be interested in one made to fit o-ring injectors. how are you planning on keeping the rail firmly planted on the O-rings?
  22. man those first gens sure do look great in silver dont they?! and the BMW silvers are the best ive ever seen. your going to have one beautiful Z car when your done. hopefully youll get her back a bit quicker this time. just be glad your not me...mines been in paint jail for 7 months now. but man it looks incredible! then its off the the interior guy for full suede treatment.....ANOTHER three months! argh! laterZ
  23. funny to see this thread. check it out: i knew that the stubs would be a major problem....but i got lucky and came across this one with stubs. so there you have it. ill be using the CVs from a 240SX/300ZX combo in a later R200 housing. lots of work...but for the price i paid...i cannot go wrong. laterZ
  24. this happens way to often, and its happened to me. once the jack blew a seal and dropped the car like a rock.....i was just jacking it up...got to the the height i wanted....i then turned around to grab my stands and i heard a "SPWOOSH" and the ass end of the car smashed my leg. the car pounced on my leg the went to its normal ride....it bruised me up damn good...and scared me to death. about two years later i had my car on stands.....i had to adjust one side of it so i got the floor jack out and started pumpin.....next thing i know the STAND breaks at the top weld and the car moved two feet sideways and one foot down....i was on the other side of the fall...so it just fell away from me...but still a good scare. from that point on...it takes me a good 30 minutes to an hour to get my car in the air.....I want to make DAMN sure that its not going to go anywhere.....my shake tests are violent! anywho...sorry that you have to see these things....and im even more sorry that it has to happen. laterZ
  25. did you weld your alum with that little welder? how did that work out? id be willing to try your mufflers out. i have a NA L6 and a turbo L6. the turbo is a straight 3" pipe right now. but should be going to the muffler shop in about a month. the NA car is a just a 2 1/4 inch system...but im looking at making it 2.5. anywho..if interested just drop me a line. laterZ
