    The midlife crisis cars around here are store bought R34s, lambos, P-cars, and a few Ferraris....... None of which are modded. But I digress...... @ Sunny, thanks for the heads up. The Cobra diffs would not work for this application. I will most likely build up this unit as it should be cheaper that way.

    I picked up my diff from the yard today. I am gonna look at lockers and lsd units over the next few days to wrap up things on my end ( I was told that the 8.8 does not come with a lsd and 3.55 ratio) I am looking forward to beating the hell out of this car and humiliating a lot of guys around here driving in their midlife crisis cars!! Thank you again for all of your hard work! As always let me know what you need from me.

    Get off the computer and get where you need to be!!!! I can "road test" a computer screen!!! lol.... the real deal!! I am happy to say that Will has been plotting this out for over a year. I think we have eliminated the weak links. I just now need to beat on it....I am anticipating putting a 315-335 rear tire on the car so we will see how this handles......

    I was planning on a 315/40/17 rear and a 275/45/17 for the front. I was told that there are only 2 options in this size. Neither of which are that good of a performance tire.

    So as i am getting new tires for my wife's shit box i was asking about mine that i am about to buy. They kindly informed me that there is nothing on the market above a 295 width.... there are options for 18" I am expecting at minimum 620+ whp...... I was after a set up like EvilC but that is now back to the drawing board.... Help anyone have options or opinions?

    This rearend is not my creation. It is from the mind of another member on the board. 31 Spline diff and axle in hopes that they will last. This is still in development and will be ready to completely install in my 240z in a week or so. This is all mocked up on a 280z. I will let the fabricator chime in as he wishes. @ SunnyZ you are correct. Porsche 930 inner and outer CVs, there is an adaptor plate that mate's the two up. Once the fabrication has been completed I will have the fabricator post up details and information. Out of respect I will hold off..... I know a tease.....

    Don't say that...... I have a Maggie on top of my LS3. This set up put 662 to the wheels of a GTO through a auto.... I have a T56. I hope the axles for this 8.8 will hold together.

    If you have the patience you should pinstripe the red/white transitions to help with your tape lines and to give it a little pop. clear coat it and you are good.

    What Sunny said don't get carried away with " well while I have it out" stuff.... you will end up like me I am +20k into my project and it is not even in the car.... Keep it simple and go from there....... I had a 320whp turbo on a L series. I now have 600+whp sitting on the floor of the shop...... I don't know what I am going to do with myself when this thing gets on the road.........

    I guess I can make this a "Go to Event" for next year. My car should be on the road this year by July/Aug. As all others it will be a work in progress but I should have most of the kinks out of it by this time next year.

    So where did the WIDE version of the ZG flares come from? Whom makes a GOOD version of these that will fit the body correctly? I know ZForce Productions makes some but I am not privy to the quality of them.

    I currently have almost 20k into my build...... and it is not even running...... I still need tires and wheels...... not counting the car, interior, or any other misc items I have purchased....... I thought I could have a beast at 18k...... yeah not a chance, the car still needs paint after all of this is said and done..... Now you don't have to go balls out and put a blower on a LS3, if I had stopped at a simple swap I could be up and running by now......

    Just cause Ferrari did it doesn't mean it was the right choice......... Do what you want. I had a set of Corbeau seats in my car. They ended up being too bulky. I still want a Porsche GT3 style seat in my car but maybe in the next Z I build.... I now have the factory seats done as I want.
