  1. the paint looks like black primer. Clean old school cool. What did you do to your front windsheild? looks clean, not meaning to threadjack. I will post up my wheels current and new when I get the new...
  2. I am planning on using a LIGHT set of 17's either CCW's or a surprise to come. I don't want to give it away but they confirmed that they will make a custom set. I love the CCW's but the only problem is that I don't like the stepped lip on them. I want something with a flat lip
  3. i have aftermarket Enkie's on the car. I think I will get a little more clearance on the hoop than the factory steel wheels. I am going to do some horse trading so that I can jkust get the car up and on the road for now and save up the money to DO IT RIGHT. With changeing out the parts together to make sure that I can have the proper brake set up. I keep wanting to go after the AZC set up on all four corners but I want to make sure that I am not adding unnecessary weigh to the corners. I will go with some custom 17" wheels in the future so I want to make sure that I have a good set up to handle the wheel and tire combo, as well as the HP increase as needed. I want to put down in the mid to upper 400's to the wheels.....
  4. I think that I will just rebuild the fronts with the 4 pistons up fornt and use a brake porportion valve to adjust the system untill I can get what I really want........I just hope that it will work.
  5. this is what I love about this forum. the good info from others. I am on other forums and people flame all day long and then don't have any data to back up their claims.....thanks again.
  6. So you are saying that this is not a bolt up application and I should better spend my money on a different kit. Should I just rebuild the rear brake drums for now and wait on the wheels so that I can put the AZC willwood kit? I will have to wait for over a month to have the money for hte wheels and then there is the time to manufacture then to my custom offsets. To repair the factory system I got a estimate of 1100.00. I figured that if I was going to have to spend the money then I woud at least upgrade the system a little bit to get me to stop better. I hate to throw away money on the stock system when I know that I am going to go with bigger wheels and more HP in the near future.
  7. So I have come to a decision ( forced) that I have to replace my whole brake system on the car. It previously sat for 10-15 years and that took a tole on the system. I had on the top of my list the AZC Willwood kit and was going to wait. But since the car is in the shop and is not streetable I have to do something about stopping at will. I have found a bolt up 4 piston caliper conversion for the front and a conversion to the 240sx rear disc. In doing so I am going to have to change out the master cylinder ( which was already shot) ( and under powered). The previous owner put porprtioning valves so at least that will help keep the wheels from locking up. If I change over to the rear disc I am going to have to change the booster as well. I am fine with haveing to do all of this but just did not want to do it so soon. I ahve been told that the kit that I am gonig to use will be just fine with the power that I currently have ( 350-400whp). I know that I will have less rotational mass then the AZC kit so that will help me on the corners. 1.)My question is that I currently have 14" wheels on the car now and want to make sure that this kit will fit without purchaseing new wheels. 2.) I need to know that these will be adiquate enough to hold up in the future with 17" wheels and more power. My car is in the shop awaiting parts so I am on a time constraint. The two people that I am dealing with are MMS and datsunstore.com. Both stand up places from referances here and in talking with them.
  8. I was quoted at or around 1000.00 to dothe setup.
  9. who did you order them from? I think I am going to order some next month.
  10. just for clarification. a rim: is the outter part of the wheel . A wheels : is the whole circular thing that the tire sets on. If you break the tire off of the wheel you might be able to see something in the casting of the hoop part of the wheel. Or you might get lucky and see a sticker on the hoop. Good luck.
  11. We had the same seats in our old M6.......very comfortable
  12. He was able to put the setup on his car and drive it for about 100miles before his throttle stuck and he got in the accident. He works for the shop that my car is at so I would tend to trust him. But you guys are right 3600 is a little steep even if everything is gently used. I think I am going to hold off and purchase things piece by piece and wait to install it all at one time. Besides I am just getting the car back on the road and I want to start driving it around embarassing some Hondas in the area.
  13. this is the kind of information that I need to know.......He is trying to sell the R200 for 600...he is telling me that he has almost 2g's in the R200....so it might have a Quaiffe. He works as the shop that my Z is at right now....
  14. includes everything lower a-arms struts assembled.......he wrecked his car and took the suspension off to recoup some money
  15. I just got an offer for a full suspension setup front and rear, Toyota 4X4 brakes( front and rear), and a R200 with a LSD. Front and rear suspension consists of : Ground control coilovers, Tokico 5-way adjustables, Sways front and rear, all of the poly-bushings included. Brakes are: Toyota 4x4 conversions, slotted drilled rotors, rear conversion to disc, all braided lines. A R200 with a LSD in it ready to install. With the 280 half-shafts. they are wanting 3600 for it all. I think it is a little high... Am I wrong?
  16. I would not do it, but that is just me. I am very particular about wheels on the S30
  17. I have been toying with the idea of covering my dash in suede or fiberglassing it. I can't decide myself. Hopfully we can see what it looks like......
  18. I swear to GOD,you better never drive that thing in the rain or snow or I will kick your ass. I can honestly say that I have never been a fan of the ZX untill your car. You have changed my opinion of that body style. Hell of a job man.
  19. I was figureing that on all four corners with rolled and pulled fenders within reason I would only be able to fit 245's all the way around on a 8" wheel. I am going to have everything measured by a local shop. They have a tool that bolts up to the hub and all measurements are taken from there....I am going to have coilovers and a big brake kit but I can not take any measurements untill I get everything
  20. It is sad to see something like that happen to a Z
  21. I am carrying on a family tradition. Dad was the president of the Z Club of Houston back in the late 70's. Dad had a 280 2+2, Mom 73 240 Z with a L28 and a bunch of goodies ( she was always faster and a better driver). I now have a 70 (#806) 240 Z......Too many mods to list....it is about to go under the knife and get updated........( my wife is going to kill me.)
  22. with the line gone it gives the body a more sentuial look. It starts to reproduce the lines of italian sports cars of the 50's and 60's. With the line in there it brakes up the body more and goes with the kit that is on the car. I personally would say no crease and keep it smooth........but then again that is just me....
  23. this is good cause I am about to starton the interior
  24. It is darker at the body seams proabibly because the parts were painted seperately instead of on the car........typical when you use a candy paint. Still looks good can't knock it....
