  1. According to my notes they're from a 81-84 Maxima. Nissan part Number 44155-04S10. If you're pulling them at the JY, don't forget the bolts. - Joe
  2. Sorry to hear it Ross, I hope they get caught fast and you get the car back in good shape. - Joe
  3. Mike, take a look at the Thermal Tech headers (http://www.thermaltechcoatings.com/). I bought my block huggers from them for the LT1, and they are great and better priced then any other headers I could find. Also, they're located in VA. Good header, good price, good delivery, good people to deal with, what more can I say ??? Not sure, but they may even do custom work, I know they do the coating themselves. - Joe
  4. No doubt about, great rescue. It sounds like she's very smart and darn near perfect as a guard dog. - Joe
  5. Sounds like a great dog. Keep an eye on the growl, but remember that she's actually protecting you. It's a good sign that she listens and settles down when you tell her it's all right. - Joe
  6. Darwin theory at work. He'll probably get killed by a person who tailended them because their dog was in their lap, sticking it's head out the drivers window and they didn't see that car stop. - Joe
  7. If the Amp meter is pegging, I'd suspect a short. Have someone hit the brakes and see if the taillights look different, this might point you in the directiion of the short. If you were working someplace between the firewall and the taillights just before this problem started, start checking in that area. Look for a cooked wire, if it's pulling that much power something should have fried. Get a VOM meter and study the wire diagram. Good luck, finding a short can be a real PIA. Try starting at the taillights and see if you can find ground at the +12 terminals, that would isolate a circuit for you. - Joe
  8. Looks pretty interesting to me, the only question might be length. Would that adapter plate increase the length too much and cause binding ? - Joe
  9. If you really want to do something, go into the presidents office, close the door and ask if you can talk openly. If he says yes ask him to sign an agreement that there will be repercussions from your discussion. Be sure to explain that you want to improve the situation at the company and your concerns are for the long term good of the company. Explain your gripes calmly and ask what to do if you know someone is using company property for improper use. You can then tell him your suspisions and recommend that he monitor the situation before it opens the company to a lawsuit. Always stress that your concern for the company is the reason for your discussion ("If I didn't care about the company, I wouldn't be here explaining this to you".....). Explain how these issues effect moral and productivity. Explain how a whole group of employees might leave at once because of these issues (always a scary thing for a company). By stressing the company good you take personal issues out of it and if the president cares about the company he has to listen. If you go in and tattle on the guy it will be seen as sour grapes or personal vendetta and discounted as such. When you start by stressing the company good you can breach almost any subject. You can discuss the pay, lies, and everything else. Make it a positive meeting. If the president cares about the company you may be suprised by the results. Be cautious in what you claim as fact and be ready to back it up. If you don't have facts then stress that it needs to be investigated. Remember - THE GOOD OF THE COMPANY....... -Joe
  10. The pressure in the system is created by the expansion the coolant as it's heated, not by the air. There is waterless coolant called NPG+ that I'm thinking of trying. It's by Evans (http://www.evanscooling.com). One of the listed bennefits is low pressure. Looks interesting. If air is trapped in the system, it also expands and displaces coolant leading to hot spots and higher temps. It can even expand to the point of creating a bubble that can block coolant flow. That's why it's important to get all the air out. That's the purpose of the expansion tank, to allow the coolant to expand and contract without drawing in any air. - Joe
  11. Thanks, I needed that - Joe
  12. There have been posts about this before, do a search and you'll find lots of help. NAPA and Pep Boys usually have the pre-made lines. Buy a bending tool and a GOOD double flare tool. With these you can make any line you need. Just remember that the lines are DOUBLE FLARE, a lot of times the counter folks will try to tell you that the meterics are bubble flare. - Joe

Mike I can see it now, guy gets called in to his supervisors office where you, his supervisor and two security people are sitting in wait. After he cleans his shorts, you calmly ask him to explain this ... play tape.... I can hear the stuttering now "ah...ah....well... umm....ah ......" Might be worth it just to see him squirm ( be sure to tape it so we can enjoy it too ) Just for fun have the security folks in dark suits and have one say "he's arrived" in to the cuff of his jacket, that should really freak the moron out. Might as well get some fun out of it - Joe
  14. Merry Christmas to all - Joe
  15. I suspect that this will be the way of the future. Think about how easy it would be to build a car if the power train is in the wheels. Now, if I can get four of them ... modify the suspension a little .... The possibilities - Joe

Hey Mike, Are there Security cameras in the lot ??? Pretty common in your neck of the woods (especially in your field of employment). Pretty common around here. Stand in the spot and take a good look around and don't be suprised if you see a camera, go to the Security folks and ask to view the tape. That sucks about the 'Vette, glad it's not too bad. - Joe
  17. I have to agree, the odds are too great for us to to the only planet with life. One of the greatest movies is "The Day The Earth Stood Still". It gets quoted in lots of other sci-fi movies. It addresses the issue of other life quite well. - Joe
  18. The 250GTO is such a great looking car, you can never see too many - Joe
  19. Gee Mike, It' great to see things going your way after that fiasco at your old employer. Can't wait to see it, just gotta figure out when I can get down your way. Then again I can give you a great excuse for a road trip! I've got beverages, and the LT1 in the 280Z, so if you need a road trip come on up, let's see how quick you can make it up 95. Would it help if I mention the long flat straight sections, or the sweet curves along the way (is this helping convince you to run up here ??). But I'm pretty sure you know 95 well. Oh well, if you need an excuse, you can always pick Pete up along the way - Joe
  20. Silver seems to the next most popular color. Here's a link to lots of pictures (250GTOs by serial number ) http://www.barchetta.cc/english/All.Ferraris/summary/SN.250.GTO.62.htm The green with yellow nose is unique. I'm going with a light blue for my Velo Rossa. - Joe
  21. Thanks for the link, good info - Joe
  22. Be sure you've got a good ground, you'd be suprised how many problems can be traced to a bad ground. - Joe
