    Custom driveshafts?

I'll second Denny's. I ordered mine yesterday from them and had a great time talking with Jim there. He asked lot's of questions and gave lot's of answers. Can't wait for it to get here. - Joe
  2. Grab a manual, it could be a threaded tensioner that has an adjuster that must be turned up or down. There are a number of different types of tensioners, the manual will also tell you how to set the proper tension. Tool number one is a good manual. - Joe
  3. The 250 stood for 2.5 Liter. displacement, 2800 is the TOTAL displacement. So 2800cc = 2.8 Liters = 280Z what a coincidence - Joe
  4. Sorry to hear about this, I hope they catch them. I made a deal with my dog, she's allowed to eat anything that enters the house without permission (OK, and squirls anyhere, dang things like to pull slates off my roofs, well they USED to ). In all honesty a dog is one of the best security systems you can have. Theives don't like dogs, and by coincicence, dogs don't like theives. - Joe
  5. I had my daughters car painted at Macco. After a few months the hood showed zebra stripping, so I took it back and they re-painted the whole car. They had a new manager who looked at the car, agoligized for the hood and said he'd do the whole car over again. No Charge. Not bad for the price, but I suspect that it depends on the management. For what I paid I'm pretty pleased, but that is due to the second painting. - Joe
  6. I know where you're coming from, it gets very confusing. You must take rim dimensions into consideration. If 225 gets to close to the sping, then you can use a spacer to move the rim out a little, or get rims with less offest. Try this website http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp it may help you understand what's invloved. And yes, believe it or not, all the answers you got might be correct. In other words the Tire Faire guys may be correct if you use the rims you have now without a spacer, the folks here are correct because they've used different rims, different offsets and/or spacers. Hope that helps - Joe
  7. I won some 16x7 5-spoke wheels from them last week (should be here on friday). I talked to them on the phone a few times and they were great to talk with. They have great feedback. They can modify the rim to another width also. Seems like good people. - Joe
  8. Check for two things. First check the ground. The tank may not be grounded well. If that's not it make sure you didn't hang the float up somehow. Check the resistance with a Volt/Ohm Meter if all else fails. - Joe
  9. If you go out to http://www.fierolt1.com/technical_documents_main.htm then scroll to the bottom there's a diagram of what they did for the cooling lines for the fiero. that may help. The lin runs from the water pump through the cooler and back to the radiator. I emailed you a picture that may help. - Joe
  10. WOW, that took some work. Very creative. - Joe
  11. Glad to see progress, I guess Murphy was being kind to you with the pump shaft - Joe

    Heat soak

Hmmmm maybe I can use some old PC Power Supply fans ..........
  13. Mr. Gasket sells these I used these, got them from Thunder Racing (http://www.thunderracing.com) they also have these Hope that helps, I may change to the Mr. Gasket since I found some at a show for $20 - Joe
  14. I had to do a little grinding to the PG and the spider gears, but it was not too bad. Just take your time and it should be no trouble. - Joe
  15. Check the stock porportioning vlave, add a new adjustable porportioning valve in the front line, then adjust the valve down to bring them in to a better balance. Did you bench bleed the master, either way bench bleed it again. Try the vacuum master the matches the master cyl., there have also been reports were the pad fell off the inside of the vacuum assist and caused a similar problem. - Joe
  16. I put a Phantom Grip in my R200 for the 280Z. Took a little work to get it in, but not too bad. I haven't run the car yet, but I know both wheels turn now . Still have to get a driveshft made and finish up the engine install, curse this cold spell - Joe
  17. Check your block grounding also. - Joe
  18. I love speed bleeders, and Mighty Vacs. What I did after re-plumbing the Z , I opened the speed bleeders, drew vacuum with Mighty vac and pumped a few times. Done in no time. - Joe
  19. I had one stick, after making sure the shoes were retracted (via adjuster) and that the Parking brake was released I heated the center of the drum where it meets the steel of the stub axle. I used a propane torch and after a little bit of heat I heard some pops and was then able to tap the drum off. I sprayed it with PB Blaster first. Heating the drum causes the drum to expand faster then the steel in the stub axle and breaks it free from the rust between the drum and stub axle. I just ran the torch in a circular motion around the center and there was no doubt when it broke free. - Joe
  20. Staledale, Yep, I have them installed. They are the D-port Block Huggers and they seem to clear fine. They are so tight that they almost touch the lip of the oil pan. I used Percy Dead Soft header gaskets, but the gaskets that came with the headers looked good. - Joe
  21. I've been getting them also, a few have been "Returned" emails. I'd love to get my hands on one of the virus writers, after a few minutes they'd begging for the Police - Joe
  22. Absolute evidence of "A Fool And His Money Are Soon Parted". I guess bumpes are made to be PUSHED not PULLED. - Joe
