Well...first time this car has been to the track. I have not done any quarter mile stuff in years...and now I know I need practice. First run was done at 19psi with drag radials. (dynoed at 445rwhp at 18psi.) Not sure what car weight is Reaction: .926 Sixty foot: 2.031 1/4 mile: 11.86 @ 111.159mph Completely missed 4th gear and coasted in neutral through the traps. Second run....launched at 4500rpm and snapped a half shaft...let off before any further damage. Here are some photos of the carnage below. Snapped the shaft in half. End of my day:mrgreen: So...time to upgrade the shafts...likely going with Wolf Creek Racing CV's Any guesses to what this thing might run with someone who can drive??

Joel...thanks..pretty happy with the results. Car feels pretty good and just put the drag radials on today and it made a huge difference in hooking up. Off to the track on August 8th if weather is ok...dont know how the weather is in your part of the world but it has been absolutely brutal this summer..nothing but rain. By the way..your car is my screensaver at work!! Love it!! Careless...It was amazing to see the difference in the AFR's with the D-Jetro installed. The car is just smoother to drive overall. Are you going to be at Z-FEST? This will be my first year attending with the car.

Went back to the tuner a couple of weeks ago after installing the D-Jetro Power FC. Car put down 449.9 RWHP at 18psi...feels pretty good! Here are a few photos. Dont have any video of this session. I have video from the first session with the L-Jetro Apexi Power FC where the car made a best of 415rwhp at 16psi. (sorry for the crappy quality but it was done on my buddies cell phone!...you can hear him talking while I am pacing like an expectant father in the background.) Turns out the MAF's were too close to the turbos and the turbulence was brutal...the tuner could not get good stable AFR's so we pulled the plug at 16psi. I went home and installed the MAP based Apexi Power FC D-Jetro..now the AFR's are nice and smooth and the car runs like a champ. Off to the track August 4th with my new Nitto NT555R drag radials!!! Lets see what it will do or what it will break. tuning by Almasituning.com (Robin Almasi, Montreal, Quebec) Thanks Robin!!!

The clutch is fabulous so far after about 1200miles. Car puts down 445rwhp running Nitto drag tires. Clutch does not slip at all and is the pedal feel is not much stiffer than stock.

Hmmm...I would have to agree that it doesnt sound like rod knock...I would go with the previous suggestion that it is timing tensioner/chain related...good luck and let us know!!

here is a start.... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=119160&highlight=flaming+river http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=127778

I had huge problems running MAFS as they were too close to the turbos...When I changed to bigger turbos the problem was even worse...worse turbulence. I went with Apexi D-jetro (MAP based) and ditched the MAF's and the car runs smooth as silk. As 240ZDan has mentioned moving the MAF away from the turbo will help greatly but you are limited with space...my tuner recommended about 10 inches from MAF to turbo...good luck!!

Check this site out...I used their driveshaft adapter flange for the 300zx r200 (its a spicer part I believe). I have a spare one...brand new if you want it ..$30.00 . I used a spicer 1310 joint..any driveshaft shop should have these Here is the site I ordered from http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Parts_DAT_driveshaft_flange.html

Nice vid of a very nice car. Where was your buddy to help you get the engine back in?? scare him off??

Well...here are the results...works great! Used the throwout bearing supplied by ACT for the 90-96 NA 300zx clutch application. I also ordered a 90-96 NA 300zx throwout collar which measured 30mm from the end of the collar to where the bearing seats on the collar (hope this makes sense). I had several different length collars from various years of z cars but found that this one worked best for this application. Hope this helps anyone considering this clutch in the future. Ill report shortly on the durability of this clutch...off to the dyno June 2 with the new 2860 turbos

:hs:well...i ordered it...i guess ill know soon...

I have done some searching but still am not sure about the clutch choice. I am running an early rb26dett motor with RB26 bellhousing and 300zx transmission. Am I able to use the stock RB26dett flywheel and this clutch (push type)? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACT-HD-6-PUCK-SPRUNG-CLUTCH-KIT-90-96-300ZX-NA_W0QQitemZ190285286701QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2c4de30d2d&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Hey Jerry...I would love a copy of the english FC manual if you could send me a copy. Are you going to be at ZFEST this year? Hope to make it with the RBZ this year...finally getting things sorted. Car is coming out in two weeks!!

Im nowhere near the techie as some of the guys on this site. I believe you would need a datalogger (dataloggit) for this to work...hope someone can chime in here. Here is a link: http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/resources/powerfc_tutorial.php By the way..love the ride..the wheels are awesome!

The wideband is in addition to the stock o2 sensor...will require an additional bung. The stock 02 sensor is for the ecu...I use an innovate wideband in my RBZ...love it.
