  1. Wow. Sorry about your loss brother! If you have considerable money invested in your Z like many do and its not a daily driver you should absolutely consider an insurance company that offers " agreed upon value" in the event of a collision. This usually requires an appraisal being done ( the specialty insurance companies often have a list of appraisers they will accept). There are of course some restrictions placed on the use of that vehicle including that it is not used as a daily driver. The rates are usually very good and you will be able to take the car out knowing you are properly covered. I was very fortunate to have this type of policy in place when my last car was written off. Hope they treat you right!

  3. Gorgeous interior! Gives me some inspiration...about to start on mine next week
  4. Thanks very much Romulus! The oil pan is indeed a modified AWD pan. The pan was designed and built by Rick Wong some years ago. The pan was modified to include a "trap door " baffle along with some other mods. I do not have a picture of the inside of the pan unfortunately. Rick is still on this board from time to time as Skyline240Z. I do not have his permission to give out his personal email so I have sent him a message to ask if he can give you a shout via PM. Hope that works! Andrew
  5. Thanks! I ran -6 lines on my previous car and this motor setup hasn't changed. I was putting down just under 540rwhp and had no fueling issues. There are different opinions on the subject....my tuner (almasituning in Montreal,Quebec) was happy with the fuel line size for this power output. Your monster on the other hand ...
  6. Its been a while but here are some updates. Building a house at the moment so that has been priority. The stainless exhaust system was built and tig welded by Paul Barber. The system starts out of the turbos to Tomei 3 inch dump pipes. The dumps then go to 3 inch custom downpipes which merge into a 4 inch pipe down the tunnel. THe system was designed to tuck up tight to the underside of the car. The 4 inch pipe then merges into two 2.5 inch pipes to two dynomax ultraflow SS mufflers with "Pypes" stainless tips. Fuel system is also now installed. Peterson pre-filter to Bosch 044 fuel pump. Braided stainless -6AN lines with billet separators.
  7. Awesome build! Very nicely done. It was also nice to see an adding up of the costs and all the custom work involved so that those who are about to embark on a full build can understand how things add up. Welcome to the forum!!
  8. Short sleeve t, flex fit hat, hoodie and stickers....I'm in!
  9. Tension Control box. Tension Control rods hook into the box.
  10. Awesome news! Getting close...very happy for you. I am in the process of ordering a harness from Yury as well. Looking forward to hear your feedback once installed. Did you use their patch harness for your setup?
  11. Very cool to see the dash resto. Can you tell us what you used for the final filler and what the paint is (textured?). I am very curious to see how it holds together once back in the car exposed to heat, cooling etc. Keep us posted. Nice work!
  12. Looks fantastic!! Laughed my a** off at the "censored" photo. Thanks for sparing us from that
  13. I've got one and it's semi polished. $35 shipped. PM for pics
  14. Thanks Joel! Its good to be back working on the car. Its nice to hear from guys who have cars that have inspired my builds.
  15. Thanks for the heads up..I have been fortunate in past builds that this has not occured. That is a very good suggestion and I will be addressing the issue as suggested! Fuel cell on the ground would be a bad thing...
  16. Not a great picture but only had a few pics before I wiped that car out. Hope you can get an idea from the photo. Oh...and I am in no way comparing these mirrors to the Testarossa mirrors...
  17. Moving along nicely now. Driveline is in. Transmission is from a 300zxtt and mated to Rb25 bellhousing. Clutch is a nismo twin plate. In the photo you can see the driveshaft loop and custom transmission mount. Driveline angles are set. Dump pipes are Tomei and feed into two custom 3" stainless downpipes The downpipes are being mocked up in this photo. Fuel cell installed. TTT control arms and Wolf Creek CV's installed. Front TTT adjustable control arms, TTT adjustable tension control arms Front brakes: Floating 13" disks from Colemand Racing products with custom rotor hats and custom aluminum hubs by Rick Wong (aka: skyline240z). Brake calipers are Porsche "big reds" mounted with custom mounts by Rick Wong. Shortened strut tubes with custom 2.5" coilovers. 200lb front springs and Tokiko illumina shocks. RB26DETT powerplant is in.
  18. Very nice clean swap! I can just imagine the excitement. Watching for updates.
  19. Slow progress but here are some updates: 3.7 LSD with added clutch packs and new bearings/seals Differential installed with Arizona Z car mounts and mustache bar and techno toy tuning adjustable lower control arms. Diff cover is cermachrome. Wolf Creek Racing CV shafts
  20. I have a set of those on my car...they are Vitaloni "turbo racing" mirrors and I have no complaints. Heres a link to a seller on EBAY. I am not endorsing that seller but just to give you an idea of what they are and approximate cost. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Genuine-Vitaloni-Turbo-Racing-Side-view-Mirror-Set-Made-in-Italy-/200807663070?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ec111c5de&vxp=mtr
  21. Hey Rick! I've been watching this thread and was wondering how long you were going to hold out sharing your incredible work. As usual...awesome!
  22. Yes...on my old turbo stroker car I ran an exterior gauge similar to the car in your photo. What is it you are wanting to know.
  23. Hi guys...I seem to have misplaced the two small U-shape metal bracket pieces that hold down the steering rack (where the bushings go) to the front crossmember. If you happen to have these pieces for a 240Z rack that would really help me out! Let me know how much with shipping. Much appreciated, Andrew
  24. Very very cool project. Welcome back!
  25. I have not been working on the car for some time as my mother fought hard against a recurrence of her Cancer. She lost the battle on May 28, 2012. I will be back to working on the car shortly. Make sure you give your loved ones a big hug and kiss when you see them. Andrew
