  1. PICS! This is next on the list of projects. Im finishing up the z32 2+2 and then the z32 tt swap, and then the 280zx!

I think hybridZ should do the same for its members devastated by this hurricane.

  9. Its not hot down here, i dont know about up there. if you were to pick up the bike this weekend, you can count on 60-75° weather. Ride it back! lots of stops to rest...Van, John C, Tims, etc Its 67° as i speak.
  10. Just find out what Ferrari club he belongs to and report his actions to other club superiors. Make sure you tell them that he mentioned the club name during his assaulting behavior. Ferrari guys are pretty mature and very serious. A club officer/member should not be acting like that. Report him to the club!
  11. Quite the opposite. There is no passing off concerns, but there is a reply stating its old news. Now everybody gets to read the same comments over and over from the same people...how MK doesnt like MSA...umpteen pages of rants and praises. It would be OK if this thread had the potential to turn into a "feedback" type of thread, but its not going to. You know as well as i know that there are certain people here that will go out of their ways and say whatever it takes to contribute to MSA going out of business. You know, theres an old saying, "if you dont like it, dont read it/look the other way/hot the power button". Thats right, if i didnt like it, i shouldnt pay attention, but you have to admit its an old, beat to death subject. Can i put a v8 in my 1979 280zx?
  12. No, and actually im getting tired of hearing and seeing people talk down on MSA. Countless threads and rants all over the internet about how MSA does this and that wrong, and how people feel like theyve been bent over without lube, blah blah blah. If you dont like them, dont deal with them. I walk in and get my parts and the guys are great. I do believe their location and staff is too small for the operation they have going, but complaining about MSA is tired already.

  14. Tony D has been emailing me and he is sure that we could convert this motor over to F/I. That would be more interesting for me as i like to be as advanced as i can get.
  15. Ive decided what im doing with this motor. Im rebuilding it using forged pistons and rods. Im having the crank machined and cryo treated. Ill have some head work done with full roller setup as nikko mentioned. Im going to send the exhaust manifolds out to be coated. Im ditching the carb for a camaro TBI setup, thats going to be managed by Megasquirt. The manifolds are able to switch sides letting the exhaust run to the front of the engine. There in going to run both manifolds into a big turbo, or choose to run twins. If i run twins i will route the exhaust into one 3" pipe and run it down the stock exhaust location. Im looking for 350-400 hp with redline around 6k, possibly more without me planning for it. Nikko did you get any pics of your motor?

  19. You dont need coilovers on a zx. Stop the madness!
  20. Any old C class mercedes front springs in the junkyard. They are the same diameter as the 280zx rear springs, you just need to take out 1 or 2 coils. You will never squat again. I took mine out after 2 days of riding with them. It was too stiff. The zx would bounce on the freeway and leave the ground. Going around a corner normal would even kick out the rear. Im dead serious!
  21. We need something like that down here by the beach. The rocks house thousands of smelly dirty cats that run away when you try to be friendly to them. "You know what, cat? You dont wanna be friendly in return? KAPOW!" Then you have several old women who fill the back of their vehicles with cat supplies (food, etc), and go to the beach areas where the cats run rampant and leave food everywhere, including styrofoam plates, etc. Lets off them, too. KAPOW!

  23. I have lots of pics but my camera battery is dead and i dont have an external card reader. Im going back to where my car is at tommorow. Ill slip an L28 clutch plate over the z32 trans input shaft, and ill also try to slip a pilot bushing over the input shaft as well. Ill also measure the distance the input shaft sticks out past the mating surface of the trans to block, then compare it to the trans that came with the L series. Im wondering if the vg30de rotates the same direction as the L series engine. I dont know much about the vg30de yet.
  24. Man oh man ive been so busy with tons of projects, i dont even have the time to get into my Nissan v8 build or the p90a lifters. Currently i am doing the head gaskets on my '90 300zx, im honestly considering a TT swap due to the amount of work to get that sucker in and out. I dont wanna put in an old tired engine after all that work. Anyway, why im posting.... I have the chance to fit up te z32 5 speed to the L28 block. I can play around a little with this tommorow if anyone is interested. Im not sure the fitment issues have been covered and i dont have time to sit online all night and search. Let me know if you would like to get further info, and i will fit this z32 trans up to the L28 block and post the results of that. The first issue i see is that the z32 5 speed uses 10 bolts to mount to the vg30 block. The early z trans uses 4. The block is right next to the trans in the lower pic.
