  1. I havent gotten anything done ever since this heatwave started. Ive been inside perched in front of the A/C pretty much every day. There are parts staring me in the face saying 'install me, install me'. I say no way jose, too hot. What projects are you holding off until this heat passes?
  2. Actually there is an artist here on the forum who does quite well with computer graphics. I found this a year or maybe 2 years ago http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=140699&page=1&pp=15 I forget his name, but he has a picture of that Z he did on the graphics program in his signture here.
  3. Yes. You should shoot for 89 and up if you are going with fuel injected. 87 and up have forged pistons. Go here and see a list of changes for each year. http://mustanggt.org/gtchange.htm
  4. Looking good! My 5.0 is sitting in storage. I have about 2 weeks of sports therapy before im good to work on cars again
  5. Wow this alternator is heavy and nice! Its black, with a chrome pulley. Im waiting for everything to cool down around here. Maybe ill do this install tommorow evening.
  6. I cant understand the decision to buy a Jeep over a Pathfinder, but i hope you enjoy it! May you get many miles out of it before it needs repairs.
  7. Waiting for big Mike to reply with opinions on these fabulous cars.
  8. Summit has 1 wire 10si 100amp black powdercoated alternators for $70. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D811001&N=400304+308560+0&autoview=sku Ive ordered one and its on its way. Ill be doing the 1 wire conversion by grinding the alternator bracket to fit gm alternator mount. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up, stay tuned for pics of my progress.
  9. Dude, get outta here.....Ive seen teenage kids do that in a honda. Its just one long streak of luck, thats all.
  10. Do you happen to like the Cadillac CTS-V, or CTS-V Supercharged? Rumor has it, theres a CTS Super V coming out with an ls9. 7.0 V8 505 hp, or a 6.2 V8 w/600hp http://www.americancarfans.com/spyphotos/6060419.002/6060419.002.mini1L.jpg http://www.americancarfans.com/spyphotos/6060419.002/6060419.002.mini2L.jpg
  11. Sorry man, those look way better than the above mentioned.
  12. I saw that. Ive noticed some major issues with the car just by looking at the pics. Id rather not attend to the stuff that needs fixing, ive done it before and i never wanna do it again. I cant afford that car, even if i could get the money together, it still needs a ton of work.
  13. Has anyone had the chance to drive a new 'hemi' powered car, ie 300C, Charger, etc. I rented a 2006 300C for 2 weeks to drive to Denver, Utah, and back home to LA. I gotta say its one of the quickest cars ive driven. Its pretty bad ***. The whole trip i was thinking how the engine would do in a Z, naturally. Side note, i developed a blood clot in my left leg during this trip that put me in the hospital for 2 weeks Anyway, i posted this just so i could show this auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-Charger-Hemi-5-7L-Engine-Auto-Trans-8K-Miles_W0QQitemZ300000457213QQihZ020QQcategoryZ33615QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Look at all the accessories that come with it. Shifter, gauges, etc. If i had 6k to spend on a swap.....
  14. Those wheels look great Bleach. Im still shopping for z31 parts. I havent had the chance to go to the junkyard because ive had a blood clot in my leg. Do you still have those Z31 parts?
  15. I would give so much to see your engine and trans mounts. You could make $$$ if you copied your engine and trans mounts and sold them as a kit. MANY people here on the Ford forum are waiting for someone to do that. I was going to do it, but i developed a pretty severe blood clot in my left leg on road trip. I just got out of the hospital yesterday after being in for 4 weeks or so. I lost lots of muscle in my left leg, and i need to go through rehab to walk perfect again. I would be your very first customer if you made a mount kit for the 280zx. Heres my thread. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=106398 I love your setup.
  16. Im in the hospital again, so i havent even seen any of my cars for a while. I need to get out of here, and then go through rehab before i even think of working on cars again. http://www.got-z.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24366
  17. Very cool Hiz. I just lost another alternator tonight. This is my 2nd in 1 year. I know its my stereo because both times the alternators went out, it was at night with all lights on in heavy traffic on the hwy with my stereo pretty loud. I want to do the GM alternator. I wanna ask you, wouldnt it be easier to drill a smooth hole through the datsun alternator bracket and use a long bolt with a nut on the end instead of threading the hole? Again, thank you for the writeup. Its EXACTLY what i sat down to search for tonight.
  18. I just spent a week in the hospital. I had family move my cars to the warehouse where they are supposed to be. Im down for another 2 weeks, doctors orders! I cant do any work, but i can still go driving
  19. Yeah, itll be sooner than later. My family just bought a huge warehouse about 50 miles from here. Im moving all my cars there this weekend and next week. I have many things to work on. '98 Plymouth Voyager exhaust manifolds '99 Ford Expedition shocks & springs, bushings, brakes, stereo '90 300zx 2+2 engine and trans rebuild (almost done, been wrenching for a year) '90 300zx 2 seater n/a/auto removal, TT engine/5 speed instal '90 Pathfinder shocks, springs, brakes, 4x4 transfer case rebuild After all of those, i can work on the 280zx v8.
  20. Im right here. I move all my cars to a warehouse this weekend so i can start working on them and getting the engine out of the mustang so i can get it tot he junkyard. Everythings been in storage and ive been showing interest in other hobbies for a few months.
  21. You guys need a role for a fat guy. Call me!
  22. Looks fun guys. Maybe ill be back out there with you guys once my family issues calm down.
  23. Its called HICAS. Some Nissans used hydraulics running off the power steering pump, and some used electrical actuators to move the rear wheels. I know specifcally the 90-93 300zx TT's used hydraulic, and the 94+ TT's used electrical actuators. You can eliminate HICAS completely by installing a HICAS elimination or locking kit. For example, HICAS bypass kit for Z32 http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CP&Product_Code=300ZX-HICAS
