  3. Im not an expert, but im sure that your stock 4 lugs will hold up to that power. Just be safe and replace the lug studs with new ones. Griemann has about 350hp, and is using 4 lug still.
  4. Lug 'nuts' are impossible to snap. The wheel mounting bolts can though, but doubtful. Just to feel safe, replace them with new ones, or a bigger size. Its probably not a big enough reason to switch over to 5 lug
  5. They look real good. Are they tweed?
  6. If you plug those into your stock headlight plugs, you can say goodbye to the wires and plastic. True HIDs cost $$$. Id say to run those lights you need to beef up the wires for the headlights.

    Ice i really think it was a factory option. My friend Leo said he had the same one, and its been on there from the day the car was made. They also have a rubber strip that lays under the metal so not to scratch the car. Did it look any good on the Z?

    Do you guys know what im talking about when i say i had a targa strip on my Z? I still have the rivets where the strip was. It went across the roof from one side to the other. Can anyone provide pics?!?!?!
  9. Thats 79-83. 1979-1980 were N/A 2.8's. Turbo 280zx's came out in 81 and went until 83. N/A's were also availabe all years of the Turbo 280zx. 1981 Turbo only had Automatic trans. Thats cake! There are many guys here making that much on stock internals, and slightly modded FI systems. I also think truth be hold that the stock internals could hold more than 300hp. Welcome to the site bro!
  10. Thats a different, more expensive kit. RIght out of high school i got a job at Econo Lube. i used to do FI system cleaning all day. Theres a bottle of cleaner that you elevate like an IV bag, and it slowly drips through a regulator into the air intake. You have to pull a hose and plug it, then put the cleaner hose in place. It will smoke BAD for about 10-15 minutes after the cleaning. This is the best way to clean your injectors without removing them. The cleaner they are talking about is the bottle you put in the gas tank.
  11. Tim is this the Camaro? Do what Dave said, and also give it a good run on the hwy with a couple of power bursts before you go to smog (floor it). Dont let it idle before smog test, that will always clog stuff up! My IROC was having trouble passing, so i went out for an hour and ran it hard, punching the throttle, and came back to the smog place. I passed like it was a new car. BTW my Z passed with flying colors today.
  12. Passed with flying colors. The guy commented my car was as clean as a brand new car and asked if i was selling it. Damn im so happy! 24 year old car to boot.
  13. I use Valvoline Synthetic 90w. I also just grab what is available in local stores. So far, so good.
  14. I think Z Therapy will rebuild your carbs to your setup/performance wants/needs. MSA just sells what they have, correct?
  15. A Super Ram or Siamese Runners on TPI engine will get rid of the flow problem with head porting.
  16. That ringing noise is no doubt the starter/flywheel messing around in that tranny case. Sounds identical to my IROC start problem. The knocking noise could also be the valves hitting the pistons. Anyone else notice the rough idle? Its for sure not timed correctly.
  17. Its ALWAYS been a headgasket on my engines. The only thing i have broken internal, is a rod bearing.
  18. Can you shut off rear brakes with a proportioning valve?
  19. Dont angle the injector hose because it will eventually start leaking, since the injector itself will sit straight up once you attach it to the manifold.
