  1. Isnt the exhaust supposed to run in and out of the turbo alone to get the propellers to spin? Why does that exhaust manifold still look like it dumps out the bottom and functions the same as....stock? You cant just bolt a turbo to the side of a manifold and expect it to work. Where does the force come from to make it work? Thats some weird shit.
  2. Northern California is beautiful. I was just hinting the large cities are really stressful and crowed, not to scare you off any. There are places in Southern California that are just absolutly gorgeous and i would love to be there all day, and all night, but unfortunatly they are out of the price range for an average joe. I do recommend if you come to a big city, try to stay no more than 3 miles in from the beach, or check out some nice hillside communities. The farther you go inland, the neighborhoods become less cared for and SOME (not all) people that live there arent very desireable people. Greimann lives about a mile from the beach, and Tim240z lives on a hillside by LAX, im sure they can add a little taste of LA.
  3. Ohhhh so now i see how it works. But what about the air/fuel mixture going through the HOT turbo? Isnt that kinda Darwin'ish?
  4. Most of us that are living in Cali are looking to get out. Its a hard decision to make because Cali is actually a cool place, but when you start thinking of all the taxes, the new smog laws, the new registration laws, tax on a home you already own!, and the type pf people that have been frequently packing themselves shoulder to shoulder into this state and the great big cities we have......sheesh Ive just been thinking a lot lately that raising a child in Cali is not the *best* idea. I might be wrong. If you are looking for some kind of relief, i would not come here to Cali. This place takes a toll on ya.
  5. Wow wouldnt that setup cause pressure loss? Look at how the turbo blows into the manifold. Dont blow thru setups have to blow down into the carb as a sealed unit so all air is forced into the engine? The setup they are selling looks as if pressure gets too high, air would start blowing out of the carb, instead of in. If im not seeing something, let me know. Its interesting.
  6. Its empty. ALl you have to do is change the folder we are supposed to view to Public.
  7. HAHAHA, proof that you DO NOT leave your private videos accessible by your friends.
  8. I dont know whos Z this is, but he emailed me about 2 years ago. Enjoy, and feel free to grab these and put them on your hard drives. Someday im gonna walk out into my driveway and snap my fingers, and mine will look like this.
  9. Id do the right thing if i could actually collect my brake fluid. I often bump the can over and it spills all over the place. Seriously, i still have old brake fluid in a huge can from years ago and the can is under halfway, long way to go.
  10. I mean the spline count, yes. I need to know the spline count on the input shaft that slides through the pressure plate.
  11. Well we cant let it build up in containers in our garages
  12. i know for sure they are fron the preludes that have sharpe edges and the flip up lights. They weigh maybe about 65-70% of what stock 280zx hig back seat weighs.
  13. how many teeth are in the input shaft from a tranny mated to a L series engine and whats the length of the input shaft? (ie, how far does it go into the engine, etc.)
  14. Good idea Len. Your idea does work, but there are several reasons why it might not be a good idea. Mike would have to buy an entire front clip $$$$. He will need room for 2 cars in the garage, putting his dads nice vette outside . It will be messy with all the extra parts and the clip laying around. Then after he gets what he needs, he will have to dispose of the clip which could cost him $$$. And then after its all done, it would look messy in the engine bay. He can get an sr20det/tranny with the wiring harness/ecu delivered to his door for probably thousands less then purchasing the whole front clip.
  15. Mike i was also thinking of ideas to keep those front crossmembers from distorting the firewall. How about welding a 1/4 inch thick plate on the firewall where the crossmembers would weld to? It would also help the safety factor of the crossmembers NOT coming through the firewall under impact. Notching the crossmembers so the crush if needed, and this plate on the firewall would make it almost 100% safe and sturdy. See my next lame drawing for reference. I charge $.50 per idea to go towards my drawing school fund Now, the sr20 would give TONS of space up front. That would allow for a THICK radiator, a big electric fan, and a thick intercooler,....and/or anything that can be thought of to increase performance.
  16. Ok its a fact that the sr20det is a performer, and its light, and it came from a car that weighs as much or less than a first gen Z, and it would sit BEHIND the front suspension crossmember in a first gen Z. I was talking to Mike (ON3GO), and we were talking about a quick swap to complete before he goes to Texas in 2 months. He suggested purchasing an rb front clip, but its in CALI and would probably take about a month to get to him. Well Mike, being the former owner of an SR20det powered 240sx, happens to agree the sr20 is capable of being a hardcore performer in a first gen Z. Well you cant argue with him, since hes been there, done that. So i voiced a few ideas, and i decided to share them here. The sr20 engine would obviously sit behind the front suspension crossmember in a first gen z. Now its clear there would be mounting issues. I suggested Mike, weld 2 tube piping crossmembers parallel to where the engine would sit. Then the mounts could be welded to them to where the engine sits in the position that the tranny shifter would stick up through the existing shifter hole. After he measures for the crossmembers and gets them in straight, all he has to do is get the engine hoist, drop in the sr20 with mounts attached, and then make mounts from there. Now, some of you might be thinking these "crossmembers" would present a safety hazard, being a front end collision would send them through the firewall like a spear and kill poor Mike. I suggest notching the crossmembers so they would crush under impact. See my drawing for reference. So what do you all think? Me, i feel that the sr20 is a resource that is more available than the rb, and performs a tad under what an rb would, which is ok for lots of people. Its a stout engine that comes powerful, and is very very capable of mucho grande power.
  17. You can also try these seats http://socalz.org/seats.htm

  19. Mike, do yourself a favor and buy from this guy. http://h4lights.com I have, and MANY other Z guys have his Autopal h4's with the "citi lights" aux lights and they are cool! Fast shipment and guaranteed product!
  20. Hi Z HEad, Im not sure if you saw the forum for RB swaps here on Hybrid Z http://hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=32
  21. I remember when you first started your project. Good luck and take your time and have fun! Try not to lose too many hairs.
  22. Hi mykazuo, You can use the stock springs and upgrade the shocks/struts to something better and you will still have a great ride! 8)
  23. Man i pull so many Tim Allen Home Improvement acts, its not even funny anymore.
