I had a rusty cam. I just threw it on and gobbed it up with motor oil and put the cam cover on and ran the sucker for 10 minutes and all rust go bye bye.

A kick ass turbo engine or v8, deep black paintjob, deep dish centerlines, aggressive fender flares, lowered suspension, LOUD sound system, and RED (not green) underbody lights. I think that would look very mean. Has to be red though......and you also have to have the autopal headlights with red inserts and the rear quarter panel red side markers installed in place of the yellow fronts.

HAHAHA that was great! It reminds me of my dad when i was a little kid. He had an 86 vette back in 87 and he would drum on the dash board and all. HAHA.

The driveshaft loop keeps the driveshaft in a neutral position if it breaks so it does not slap all over the underbody of your car. Ive had a halfshaft break and it was LOUD slapping on the underbody. It left some nice healthy dings. Id hate to have a big driveshaft snap on me. Yeah, the driveshaft loops are required by lots of racing organizations. NHRA?

OH since it rained today, i have to say the Falken 512's i have are a GREAT tire afterall. What would be a tad wheelspin from a stop, turned into acceleration. Yeah, changed my mind today, good tire for the $. Tim, Falken discontinued the 502 and replaced them with the 512 i think this year.

Oh, i was meaning to give you the info in the first post made by jwelch. You said you wanted Azenis. Btw, i have those ziex's on my car now and i absoulutly HATE them. They have to be the crappiest tire i have ever had. I do like the wheel guard though.

Oh yeah i forgot to add. One time the Postal Sevice came and removed a drop box from the wall in the lobby of the townhome property. The HOA had a month long vote on what they would cover the ugly spot left on the wall with. They said it was a "major issue". And dont get me started about going to work at 4am. Those wonderful people complained about the noise my car made as i left the property and drove down the hill. They said they could hear my vehicle 1/2 a mile away. It was a 1990 Hyundai Sonata, perfect stock exhaust. And speaking of the plant "overwatering" issue. About 3-4 months before we moved from the townhome property, we gave all our plants to our neighbor. Then the HOA letters came flooding in, complaining about our "lack of foliage". And one more thing before i call it a night. This goes along with the garage door problem. I used to have my 3rd Gen F-Body club come up to my townhome for meetings and BBQ's. The neighbors called the police because they claimed we were "having races in the parking lot". Mind you, the parking lot was just a strip of driveway about 1000 feet long with parking stalls on one side, and garages on the other. The parking lot had 10 speed bumps 6 inches high, and huge deep drainage ditches. Yeah, we are gonna race our Camaros and Firebirds in the parking lot.

No you need more fuel at top end. If you dont have enough fuel you engine runs out of power. Running rich is how i can acheive power all the way up to redline in my zx.

I would say so. Its sad that the majority of mechanics out there dont know the difference between atf+3 and dextron atf. I hope that your tranny doesnt have dextron in it. I dont see how a good flush and filter with a new fill of ATF+3 can hurt anything. Just dont overfill! Its better to start out with not enough than overfill, especially with trannys.

you could lightly sand (with an orbital sander) and spray the underside of the hood the color of your choice and add some gloss to it.

Hyundia's use ATF+3. I had a 1990 Hyundia Sonata V6 and that thing was fun fun fun. All Mitusbishi electronics and mechanical parts.

I dont think you will need a Cold Air Intake with an intercooler, though, it will not hurt anything.

Ok i started this thread because the one on LED's was getting realllll long. I started a project a few months back to convert my 79280zx dash cluster and 3 gauges to LED's. I counted all the bulb sockets i would need to fill, and i went to an electronics store and lets just say the prices i was looking at, made me stop right in my tracks. I armed myself with this article from ThirdGen.org http://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/leddash.shtml I think most of you should have a look at this. Im still going to finish this project, but i need to find where they sell these "inexpensive" LED's everybody keeps talking about.

You can get some pretty mean body kits. Take a look at David Griemmans 280zx 2+2 here on this site. 200k miles really isnt much for these engines. They are really solid and i myself have never seen one go bad other than a head gasket. If you look around, you may find yourself a 280zx turbo donor car to take out the engine from there and drop in. Oh btw, 70-83 use the same configuration. What i mean is that if you want to take a 240z engine and put it in your 280zx, you can do it, and vice versa. You can take the 280zx turbo engine, and put it in a 240z, and vice versa too. The possibilities are endless with our z's!

I have 2 79 280zx's and one 77 280z. 240z 70-73 260z 74 280z 75-76 280zx 79-83 300zx z31 84-89 300zx z32 90 + 350z current There are many many mods available for all years of Z's. Go through the suspension, brakes, and engine/tranny. ALso, check out the entire body for rust, since that seems to plague our z's and sometimes its better to let one go instead of spending the time and $ to fix it. An exhaust and intake makes a big difference on any L-series engine. Also, the turbo engine out of the 81-83 280zx drops right in! All you have to do is swap the engine and harness from the turbo car. hehehe since you are a Ford guy, you can also swap in a ford engine, maybe one of those 351W eh?
