A condenser is not really car specific, it is just a noise filtering capacitor. For simplicity just get one that matches the coil. If the coil is 280zxt then get a condenser for that car.

make sure that the power source to the coil, hei, megasquirt is connected to a source that stays on during cranking. There are 12v lines that are only on during run and not cranking.

No, especially if you buy a wideband O2 sensor or EGT sensor or both. I used my own wideband to tune my car, it cost me about $250 for the wideband. I figured that was better than a couple dyno visits.

This is where you have to make a decision, is it worth it in the long run for you to know how to tune the care yourself or would you rather always have the shop do it? I am not putting down either method, it depends on what you want. It is nice to put the responsibilty on someone elses shoulders, on the other hand it is nice to understand and tune yourself. If you plan to do a lot of mods over the years I would start to learn the tuning with any system you buy and not have to go to a shop with each upgrade.

I have not used the msd unit, but other than that the diagram looks correct to me.

I did not use the collant sensor, I used the head temp sensor. The calibration info for the head temp sensor is in the install guide. Maybe someone else has the info for the coolant sensor?

I think at this point that almost everyone runs V2.2 hardware. The software changes all the time (MSnS_Extra) so who knows what versions everyone has. 021u is good 024s9 is good there are lots of newer ones

I hate that kind of stuff. My friend just found yesterday that his MAP sensor tubing was conducting electricity and shorting out some of the circuit to the MS case. His also failed on the stim board which makes it easier to troubleshoot. Sounds like the input to the tach trigger may be floating or miswired causing the continual triggers?

Its not much to look at, but its got it were it counts. Its a good 240 in terms of little rust for him. I hope to see pics of it with nice wheels and a paint job one of these days.

He left out of here at about 4 pm The car needs a lot of little things to finish it up, but it is a good start for him, and at least he'll have megasuirt and wideband already in place. Now if he can get wider tires, coils overs, disc brakes and a paint job he will have one hell of a 240z. Matt Nelson from Baton Rouge came and bought it today. He is one crazy guy , driving a car I built 1500 miles back to LA, heh heh. I hope the trip back goes good. Now he can whip on some of you LA guys down there . I had a lot of fun with that car and hate to see it go, but I'll head out to the garage and get to work on the next one after the court BS is over with. I turned the boost down to 12psi to be safe when he gets back to sea level, then he can turn it up to whatever. I was running 15psi here, but was a little scared to send him back down to sea level with that and the stock head gasket. Farewell to my first and fastest z car.

court went well today. She found out that she couldn't even submit the police report into record becasue the sheriff that took it wasn't at court. Almost had to feel sorry for her without a lawyer because the judge had to explain to her several times how court works, how the judicial system works and what the 5th amendment really means. Both of them made outbursts in court continually so that the judge had to keep telling them cut it out. The case ended up being continued because they were so unprepared. The whole thing was pretty interesting. It will be another month now before anything else happens, but they had the chance today to go to mediation and refused so we are in for the long haul now. I ordered a 4 camera weatherproof CCTV system with time lapse recorder and warning signs to install this week for my own piece of mind. I'll let you guys know what happens next.

First court appearance is Tomorrow (Tuesday 9th) for the restraining order. It will be interesting to see what happens. All 3 adjacent neighbors that she has yelled and screamed at are coming in to testify that she likes start confrontations. She also tried to escalate the situation more last week so I got pictures and wrote down the times. I'll update tomorrow.

I was suppose to, but actually I don't. All of the parts I had for that car went to other projects and the car got hauled off. Right now all I have is the 34 pontiac. But I intended to have a V8 z car, so next time around.....

That is the one thing I never get around to, my wife is excited to ride around in the 34 pontiac though. I think she'll go even when it is in primer

I am waiting for her to try escalating the situation again to get the restraining order on her. I know how she operates and she will hang herself. Luckily I own two pieces of land, 10 acres right by her, and 40 acres that is 660 feet away from her property line and in a position she can't even see it. I think in the least I am going to move over onto the 40 acres which was always a plan I had in normal life. If things go any worse with the ticket, then I am moving far away like Mike says and put my life back together first.

I retained the original air regulator valve which does fast idle air control and only requires an ignition switched 12v so it didn't need to be hooked up to the computer. But it would be cleaner looking with a different IAC. The way you did it sounds good. It does suck if you don't have some kind of IAC.

Basically I am giving her some time to cool off, but if she does ANYTHING else, then my wife will get a restraining order against her and her husband to put an end to the BS. I don't want to inconvenience anyone else at this point by accepting money, but thanks for the offer. AS far as the car goes I can build another one after the smoke clears and my life is back to normal. I already have a sale pending on the car, it is nice to be part of a family like hybridz where I know I can talk to people that share the same interests and that my car will be enjoyed as much by the next owner as it was by me I will not be leaving the group AFAIK and I am still building the 454 supercharged megasuirt engine unless I need more lawyer money.
