  1. Hydraulic booster then? My brother did an SR swap into his Datsun 1200. After driving it for 15 minutes or so, the car would not want to move...due to the proximity of the turbo to his bmc, it heated up the fluid & pressurized the brakes. He did the wrap in conjunction with a Jet-Hot coated manifold & a stainless heat shield & that fixed that issue.
  2. OMG! Last time I checked, the official name for Taiwan is the Republic of China, btw. Semantics? Maybe...but my wife was born there & she calls herself Chinese... More options is never a bad thing. I think the vast majority are supportive of your idea, so long as the price is reasonable.
  3. Could be a number of things...distributor, crap in the fuel tank, bad grounding, afm, coolant temp sensor.
  4. My 2 cents, I've had zero issues with them...some people have, some people haven't.
  5. You're going to have to have someone make it for you...very few places offer anything like this anymore. McKinney does have a 3" system, but isn't stainless & comes with a ricer carbon fiber muffler...& costs $550+shipping http://www.mckinneymotorsports.com/prod_240+260+280Z+parts I'd just find a local place that does diesel trucks & have them make you a system. Those places are used to making large diameter exhausts without crappy compression bends that most muffler shops want to use.
  6. I found 850's to be lacking for a high boosted GT35 setup on an SR...I had a Full Race GT3567R on my old SR, and would up switching to 1000cc injectors from Sard 850's. The Power FC took a little tweaking, but it worked fine for my combo.
  7. You can call onlinetires directly & they will tell you if they are in stock, and take your order over the phone, if you'd like.
  8. onlinetires.com is where I've been getting all my tires the past 3 years. No complaints whatsoever! They have ten different tire choices in that size listed...
  9. I've had that same issue with my old Fox body Mustang & cartain aftermarket wheels. I used 3M body double sided take to hold the cap to the wheel, rather than snapped in, gave me an additional 1/8" clearance. I also massaged the dust caps with a BFH (big frickin' hammer).
  10. My daily driver is a G35 that's a salvage from a similar front end collision. It isn't completely perfect fit & finish, but in the 1 1/2 year of owning it & driving it all over the country, I have no complaints. I traded another car for it, so it's cost me nothing. I personally don't care about the salvage title, I'm not planning on getting another car anytime soon, don't want a payment. A car like this is a great way to save money if you want something nice but don't have the coin.
  11. Seafoam shouldn't directly affect them, however any dislodged particulates in the fuel system could wreak havoc with the carbs...
  12. Never happened to me with daily driving & some mountain racing in my ZX with Tokicos, you'll be fine.
  13. OS Multi-disks are noisy...all of them. My triple plate was the same way, brand new out of the box.
  14. How fast does it need to be? That's overkill. You'd probably be better off with a much more mild setup...but, since that's not going to happen start looking into an R230 conversion or live axle setup.
  15. Misinformation. The L20 was ONE of the engines available in the Fairlady, the L28 was also available. In Japan, insurance & the yearly road tax is based on engine size, and engines over 2.0L have a higher cost, which is why there have been so many Japanese 2.0L performance motors by different manufacturers over the years...My Dad brought back his 79ZX (titled as a 78 due to the Japanese going by manufactured date rather than actual model year) when we moved back to the states from Japan in '85. Normal L28E engine. I helped my Dad work on it quite a few times. My brother wound up with that car, and it sports a warmed over SR20DET in it now.
  16. Damn...just like an episode of Seibu Keisatsu!
  17. My ARE (same look) will be available in a week, I have some new wheels on the way as we speak. They are pristine, no bends, scuffs, scrapes. Include center caps & new BFG Radial T/A's. I don't know how much they'd cost to ship but can look into it...PM me if interested.
  18. Best place to look for a used one would be craigslist or www.corral.net in the forums' classifieds ads. You'll have to get the Tremec specific bellhousing for the 351W, 10.5" Mustang (5.0) clutch of your choice, proper flywheel for your engine, and all the supporting equipment. One downside is none of the Ford setups are designed to run with a hydraulic clutch, and can be pretty rough on your clutch leg with a racing clutch.

    Poor Z

    LOL! I've seen that...'tis glorious!
  20. T-5 won't last, you want a Tremec 3550 or stronger...like a TKO.

    I hope it's a girl's car...
  22. Some recent pics...she's getting there!
  23. No thank you sir, I'll have to wait a bit to rebuild some $ from the dang mirrors. I only need the BMC, no the booster btw.
  24. They were garbage. The original Datsun (Tokico) shocks were better than the Mulhollands. No rebound, felt like they didn't dampen at all.
