  1. I've got an 83 280zxt and was wondering where everyone has gotten thier upgraded/reground cams from? Before anyone says it, my goals are over 400hp, infact, I'm pretty sure I'm past that right now. I dynod 345whp at 19psi and run 30 right now. (masterpower T-70 turbo). Anyways, I just want to see which companies are fimiliar with our turbo z cams and also, what springs/retainers you are using. Thanks in advance.
  2. On a side note with the lm1 (since so many people have it). Has anyone had prblems with rpms jumping around on the logs? I'm using the the sdsem4-6f and my rpms will will never read correctly no matter how aI callibreate it, and sometimes they like to double themselves. I recently talked to someone else running a trubo dodge that had similar problems with his sds equipped car...and was wondering anyone else has had this problem and been able to fix it?

  5. I ran 18-20psi on a freshly rebuilt turbo (had an entiore new cartridge installed). It started getting shaft play within a year to the point it was trashed. I looked at the exhust wheel shaft and it was the prettiest shade of blue I;ve ever seen I upgraded to a hybrid, then to a t-70
  6. and a softer hose kinks easily when moving the gun around. I swapped hoses myself, but it took to hoses till I get one that wasn't too soft or too stiff
  7. A few of the turbo dodge cars in the 80's /early 90's used a variable geometry turbo... I can't remember exactly what years they were.

  10. I saw a set of those at the autometer booth last weekend at the Keystone show. Pretty cool, even if they are high priced. My favorite part had to be the intigrated warning feature that changes the entire gauge color to warn you rather than just some little idiot light...very cool

  12. our local news station does tests of products and so on...they had several people trying these soldering irons and they worked, but one guy still got burnt after it was turned off...lol
  13. Master Power T-70 with P trim exhaust wheel and a .58 turbonetics turbine housing, turbonetics evolution wastegate, and custom turbo header. 28psi baby!
  14. Its a l28et with forged pistons with compression bumped to 7.8:1. Stock p90 head and cam with casting flange cleaned up and gasket matched. Custom turbo header (made by me) and one of Thagards intakes. The turbo is a master power T-70. I have a whole list of other mods, but those are really the big ones. If you want more info, let me know and I'll list it later...I just got a reall big headache. Anyways...stock rods and crank tho.
  15. Good and bad news. I made it to the dyno, nothing broke and I made it back. Bad news is that I wasn't able to build more than 19psi of boost on the dyno. We figured out the problem and I'll correct it tonight. I didn't have the neccissary pieces to do it on site. So you're probably wondering what kind of power I made...right? Well, 346hp and 353ftlbs of torque. I roughly have another 9-10psi of boost to add to it, and I was roughly making 12hp per additional pound of boost. I figure I should have no problem getting to 425-450 with full boost. Overall, I'm fairly pleased on how things turned out, even if I'm not getting full boost. As you'll notice by the chart, I'm getting boost fairly late, it's not near that bad when going from one gear to another as the turbo is already spooled. Also, I have a cam change planned to help extend the rpm band as my current springs start giving me float much past 6300 so I'll swap a set in as well at the same time as the cam.   17. I guess I'll just have to try it and see, but I'm going from 12:1 fuel at 42-4500 to 10.14:1 at 6200. that seems huge...
  18. so, you're saying you lowered the rpm fuel values to compensate?
  19. First off, I have an 83 nissan 280zxt. I'm using the em4-6f system. I have rpm fuel values set at 82 after 4500rpm, yet the car still goes rich higher up in the rpm and it's not boost related. It will go rich slowly, but seems more like its a product of time rather than anything else. The longer I'm in a gear, ther richer it will end up before I shift. I'm using the innovate WB meter to verify this while tuning. Boost is a constant 18psi, but as the rpms climb the car goes rich. Could this have something to do with the motors lack of airflow? Maybe a need for portwork, upgraded cam, etc? The basics of my motor are as follows: 2.8l inline 6. Custom intake manifold (J. Thagard's) and turbo header, masterpower T-70 turbo, forged internals, stock cam, light headwork, 1mm oversized exhaust valves, and then all the little things to go with that stuff. All I can figure is that the car can't flow the air needed for the fuel being put into the motor at the upper rpm range. I even tried a new wb sensor just incase mine was messed up somehow. Any help is appreciated on this. James Roraback
