  1. If you have a large truck dealership (kenworth, pete, Freightliner, etc) The should carry them there also.
  2. yeah, I bought just the bearing itself from autozone also.
  3. why not just have a shop shot peen a stock set...hell have them cryo treated too. It would be a lot cheaper to have it done yourself...unless the axles are physically bigger???
  4. Have the stub axles breaking on a 280zxt been an issue? I broke the right hand side the other night at the track. This is the first time with the new motor and things halfway working right. I'm getting ready to put a used stub axle in from my parts car, but I really don't want to have this happen again. Is there an upgrade? should I have them shotpeened or cryro treated? Or do you think it was just worn out and ready to break? I'll admit, I'm hard on the car. I run M&H slicks and launch around 5300RPM and am cutting low 1.6's. I brought it up to 6000 where I used to launch on my old motor and it broke the stub axle. (not a the cv shaft, but the part that attatches to the rotor and has the cv shaft flange bolted to it.) I wanna cut some 1.5 60fts. Anyways, is there anything I can do to keep this from breaking...short of not launching so hard?
  5. I posted on zcar.com. I reported it to ebay, I suggest anyone else that got this offer does the same. Too bad tho...I would've bought it for my last offer of $5101.00...kinda disapointing...again.
  6. Is this motor being re-offered? I and several other bidders have recieved e-mails about a second chance offer...any one have details on whether or not this is real? Or any way to contact Joel about his quickly? James roraback
  7. I've removed them on several heads without a problem...the biggest key is to make sure that the cam will rotate without excesive drag once it's re-assembled.
  8. I'm interested in a header but I would like more details. Would it be a log style? stainless or mild steel? Give me more details!
  9. So far my bw t-5 has been holding 25 psi from my hybrid with 9 inch slicks out back. I've been cutting consistant 1.6's and and sometimes lower and haven't had any problems with it yet. Hopefully at the end of this month I'll see a dyno...I'm guesstimating around 400rwhp...but I'll just have to see what it really turns. James
  10. I got mine from Pallnet...looks and works great
  11. eh...the painter sucks, but oh well, you really didn't pay a whole lot for the job. Don't get me wrong, its still a chunk of money, but at a shop thats pretty cheap, especially if there was any body work that needed done (looks like there was on the right side down low??) Once again, not trying to nit pick...but I bet in a sense you're just glad to have it painted and driving it again. I too would think about bringing it back tho....they need to do it right! I'd never let a car out of my shop with the condition you describe...and if it somehow slipped out, I'd sure want to make it right ASAP. After all, unhappy customers spread the word much faster than happy ones do. James
  12. Well, I've spent a couple grand there as well....been a couple of years back tho. No problems whatsoever. Everything got to my place quick, undamaged, and they were all the correct parts.
  13. notice the $26.99 shipping and handling on those cheap lights....be careful or you'll be pissed off when you buy. Always check the shipping charges before you bid. Edit: Also, that looks like the exact same style light a friend put on his 280zx...only probablem is, they don't fit the 280zx properly. He had to turn them upside down to work properly...and now if you want to re-aim the lights you have to dissasemble everything as the adjusting screws aren't accessible...just fair warning. I don't now if they fit the first gens correctly or not.
  14. stony, I don't bid that way...the price tends to get up high way too quick. I've found that you can get items cheaper if you don't throw out your max bid right away.
  15. hmmm..never broke one and I've been running 25psi on a hybrid with 9 inch wide M&H slicks out back...
  16. I too would be interested in what your reserve is set at. I don't want to waste my time bidding if it's out of my range.
  17. do you have any reciepts for the internal stuff that a guy can't see? like pistons, port work, etc?
  18. what kind of boost were you running? any hp/torque numbers from a dyno? 1/4 mile et and mph?
  19. how are the custom coil-overs holding up? any problems with them?
  20. I'd be interested if it would fit in a 280zxt. Would there be any kind of baffles/trap doors, etc?

I've tried contacting g-force several times in the past, but they won't get back with me...so I gave up...I guess its time to try them again...
  22. so, maybe I've missed it,but has there been any updates on your tranny install yet? Is it on the track and making passes? I'm curious about how its working out for you as I may be interested and duplicating it for my drag car.

Not trying to steal the thread here but my question may apply. I've got an 83 280zxt that will be putting 400-450 to the ground and sooner or later, the stock bwt-5 is gonna go. What is my best option for a tranny? The car is almost all drag but still driven occasionally on weekends on the street and as my back up car when the truck has a problem. Obviously money is an issue but I don't want to skimp either if it'll effect the driveability/useability. Isn't there someone running a 2 speed power glide behind an l28? I know I haven't searched on the powerglide part of my question, but would it even be right for my application? So what would be the best choise financially and performance wise?
  24. Hey guys, I've got an 83 280zxt that I drag race. I'm running M&H slicks out back and when I launch I'm getting excessive squat. The rear bumper is nearly on the ground and the front is getting very light. The car weighs aprox 3000lbs w/driver and I'm looking for a stiffer spring without lowering the car at all. If I go lower, my slicks will not fit. Does anyone make a stiffer spring for the 280zxt without going to a coil over set up? If not, has anyone messed around with using air bags or air shocks to minimize the squat? I'm currently running stock springs with kyb's out front and in back.I've attempted to ehlp squat using "spring savers" that twist between the coils and it's helped some, but it still gets way more squat than is acceptable.
  25. ferreas here too. 1mm larger exhuast with stock sized intake
