  1. I'm sorry if you missed the intent of my post. Sorry to have to share this with you but I know what Cameltoe is. However I still stand benind the second quote. Yours Truly, Diesel Darlene
  2. My goodness, aren't we touchy? I didn't mean to stir up all this acrimony. BTW, I thought it was a good clip. Sheesh!
  3. God, I'm glad that I live in Oregon! Oops, I meant to say its even worse up here so everyone is better off not coming here.
  4. Its true, I always use the proper guages, mics and and Dial indicators BEFORE getting the hammer. Then if that don't work there is always a bigger hammer.
  5. Damn, I wish I could paint flames that well
  6. I plan on putting an AC clutch on mine. If there might be a problem it may be adapting the high pressure line. My HP line was seeping so I spent two weeks running from shop to shop trying to fine someone who could make one up. Finally ended up at a JY.
  7. Member?? Is that the infamous "Camel Toe"? your signifigant other was right to have this disscussion here . Not only are 99% of the "members" here male, but everyone knows that hybridZ is the home of the worlds foremost authorities on everythong. (Professor Erwin Corey not withstanding) IMHO it isn't the wraping, its the sandwich that counts.
  8. Well, isn't that special. Perhaps before being so intolerant we should learn the dirfference between "Have" and "Half". Yours Truly, The Church Lady
  9. When I rebuilt my first th350, I assembled, installed and fillled it with fluid. Then found the thrust washer that goes behind the front drum. That is my worst one. unless of course you count having to dissamble and reassemble the torque converter on an old Caddy 4 spd Hydro Matic
  10. Not me, uh uh nope nosirree!! Nice of you to ask though. Actually I live in the good old Rogue Valley in Eagle Point, the cultural center of the universe. I was looking at finding a volt meter in a combo guage. Is there anything you need off of it?
  11. Larry. Thanks for the info. I am gooing to build one from some stainless that I have laying around. Its 3:30 so I think I'll drive it in to work and see what happens. joe
  12. there is a 280zx 2+2 in the street a block from my house. the sign on the window says it has been abondoned for five years. the engine and drivetrain are good according to what I read. The interior is trashed, and I have no idea about rust. but it might make a good donor car for some one. The owner is begging someone to drag it off. I don't know if it has a title. but if you are in southern Oregon, and need parts you might want to check it out.
  13. Since I have no idea where to post this, this seemed like the place. I bought a Zenon air dam for my Z31. Although I'm not overjoyed with the installation, it looks better than the old front. Here's the problem. After I got the air dam on I went for a drive and the car really heated up. I intend to build a duct from the grill opening to the radiator but haven't done it yet. Could the improvment in aerodynamics keep the air out from under the car lower the airflow to the radiator enough to make it over heat? I was thinking that perhaps the air passing through the grill opening is being pulled under the car and away from the radiator. On the other hand, its been really hot around here and perhaps it is just the weather. (Its been around a hundred degrees for a while) thanks Joe
  14. you may think there isn't anything as cool as that first ride but it just keeps getting better as you get closer to getting it on the street. The car sounds great. Congratulations!!
  15. You got the loose leaf part just right. I have a 2002 379. My boss should be coming into a new one when cat gets the fuel milage thing cleared up. I've heard that they are only getting about 3 1/2 mpg. if ;you get a good price and have work for it, buying a truck at only 49 is ok.
  16. My log books are legal! (All three of them) BTW, what kind of truck is your tanker?
  17. I was starting to worry about you. You haven't bought a car in a couple of weeks! What was even scarier was that you might have actually been on the cusp of finishing one of your projects!
  18. The only difference between me and you guys is that I'm too old to remember that it is supposed to embarass me.
  19. Don't feel alone, I'm having the same problem. For the last year I looked for moss green like Roostmonkey's car. When I thought my mind was made up, I came across a metalic green to blue flipflop. I really like the color change, but am kind of worried i'll end up with a car that resembles a ski boat.
  20. that ain't a joke, that's the intro to the last chapter in my soon to be released autobiography!!
  21. After what seems like forever I finally managed to get the scoop on the hood and the fill work done on it. It was months ago that I thought the car was on its way to the painter, but things to do keep coming up . I wish someone would come up with a vacine for the "while I'm at it" dezeze. Finished installing the air dam, now I can start on the stainless steel ducting from behind the grill to the radiator. Then, I swear its off to the paint shop. If there is anyone whose skills I admire and envy its the guys who do body work. I admire their skill, and envy their patience.
  22. It must have something to do with how much time you spend on the road. I saw a red Enzo on the interstate bridge in Portland, and a yellow one on I-5 north south of Red Bluff Calif. But I drive about 3000 miles a week which is probably slightly more than average.
  23. prieth, That must have been what I remember seeing. See? I told you I had too much fun in the sixties. Or else I'm just loosing my memory from getting old. I can't recall which.
  24. If two of the five Chaparral 1's are there it would still be a real treat to see them. I believe Jim Hall brought them to Monterey a few years ago. I seem to remember seeing Phil Hill in the 2f on Speedvision, but I am not really sure. (too much fun in the '60's) I would love to see the 2J . It was the most advanced car of its time. Denny Hulme, who drove for McClaren, wrote, "I knew we were in trouble on the grid at Riverside (1970) when they started that little engine running the fans and the whole car squatted down visibly against the road." The 2J only raced four times in 1970, and did not finish three of those. In its only finish it placed 6th. However in three of those races, it sat on the pole and on the fourth. it recorded the fastest lap with Jackie Stewart driving. How strange that a car that only ran four times could change the rules of Can Am. a class that was intended to have only a minimum of rules to allow for experimentation . I don't know if I can make it, but you can bet I'm sure going to try. Especially if I get that *@*&%!#ing Z finished.
